For the massive pantry, with items getting lost. I would but in a pullout pantry or shelves and have it pull out the narrow side. Or i would do those pullout shelves that lazy susan out around the part near the fridge. They have freat brackets for that in the rev a shelf line. Then you could access that hidden corner side.

Interesting. I can see the need for so much storage if you’re living in it full time. I like the move from king to queen size bed, I prefer to have a little more space to walk around. The living space is nice. But, given the size it seems like there should be more space. That kitchen island just makes me scratch my head. And that stair well is weird and definite tripping hazard. All in all it’s amazing what you can get out of a 5th wheel. I’m impressed at all the mods he does. Looking forward to next year’s update. I really think if you and Erin are going to continue full time with your family, you would do well with the space a 5th wheel offers. However, as you can see, the more space you have, the more stuff you acquire.
@HomeMeetsRoad
@HomeMeetsRoad 2 жыл бұрын
The island is a bit odd and probably will change. We gotten used to the stairs so no tripping hazard for us (just for guests 😂). It does look like we have a ton of stuff but most of the boxes are empty or only half way full. We emptied our storage unit and now have everything we own with us. Still need to organize and go through it all.

I think in a house I would love it. Ok, it would depend on the house, I suppose. If I think of our last house, we had countertop space for days! I’m this sink would have been unique. The two issues I have is the storage the parts take up and the counter space I lose.

I'm not a fan of those popup outlets either, we have them in our Jayco too. While those all in one touchscreen control panels are nice to have they are definitely not a replacement to physical switches. We had one of those rollup covers on one side of our sink too and a junk cutting board on the other side. I found a nice piece of wood and cut it to fit to replace them.

so many things that are good, and some not, just a great visit to see it. I am buying a two year old toy hauler fifth wheel which I will live in full time in an RV park. I know I will be painting the woodwork in the kitchen/living room area. I know a lot of prep is a must, learned that with a small mobil home twenty some years ago. A hard lesson, well learned.

Nice rig! Looks like you have twice as much storage space as our motorhome. Any plans for solar in the future? We like to boondock a lot. For almost the last year and a half we have been boondocking continuously with a small 620-watt solar system, but plan on expanding it greatly within a year with 3,600 additional watts and bringing our battery bank up to 24kwh. We just like to see what others have planned.
@HomeMeetsRoad

Our old rig was all electric and could run everything off of the 500Ah, 1,240W solar system. This rig needs a lot more power so it will need to wait until our wallet recovers.

Receptacles on the side are a safety issue! Apparently there are far more injuries than we would guess. Accidental or childish pulling on cords dumps hot water/oil/heavy stuff sometimes killing someone. The NEC has done some recent (2020 &2023) changes about this. Manufacturers have lost in court! As always, better, smaller equipment is the real answer!

Howdy! Great video, we are planning on getting our own soon! One thing I noticed, is that you have the 2021 model, with the basement AC unit. Could you comment on how well that works/loud it is in the living space? The newer models have three roof mounted AC units. I love the idea of freeing up more roof space for solar power, and having the fan in the bedroom. Any thoughts on if I should look for a 2021 model for that reason, or would the triple AC's be better so I can toggle one on at a time if I need it / if I am boon-docking and want to run on solar? Thanks!

Surprisingly poor engineering and design with this rig. It seems to promise much more than it actually delivers. Other brands are more coherent in their ergonomics and aren’t so focused on cost cutting. Was on my list, now off.
@HomeMeetsRoad
@HomeMeetsRoad 2 жыл бұрын
It all comes down to what you want and what you are willing to change. There are always things one will change. We love this rig, mainly because of the storage (yes, we love the floor plan, but you can find the floor plan by other manufacturers). What models are you considering?
@tomm_d
@tomm_d 2 жыл бұрын
@@HomeMeetsRoad of course no model is perfect out of the box, but after viewing the video the “rough edges” of this coach are just too much for us, especially considering that solving them isn’t simple tinkering (like adding light switches, and making kitchen storage functional). We’re looking at mid bunks, and probably are going with a Jayco North Point, even though we would prefer a wide body. I applaud your creativity, but in the end River Ranch should have invested more into this model’s design. To us, it doesn’t earn premium status because of all the shortcuts and flaws, no offense.
@HomeMeetsRoad
@HomeMeetsRoad 2 жыл бұрын
@@tomm_d No offense taken! We love this rig, but point out the flaws so others know what they are getting into. That’s the purpose of these RV Tours. All Brian and I want is for folks to understand what it takes to live in these RVs, what may be an issue, and what one can do. I hope it helped, and I hope you find the proper rig for you! P.S. Jayco is switching to a digital screen as well. If you are ordering a RV, make sure you ask the right questions, as model changes get made on the fly by all manufacturers.
