I have purchased 2 casio analog watches recently which are quite expensive. Both of them have mineral glass. Do I need to add any screen guards? The watches with normal glass and acrylic glass have development scratches over time.

A few important corrections, 1. Always use a piece of plastic sheet while using a caseback opening tool, to prevent wearing out the notches and accidental scratches if it slips out. 2. Always use finger cots to avoid finger oils getting into the watch, they are corrosive when exposed over a longer duration. 3. Never use metal tweezers to pick out batteries, use plastic ones. That new battery gets short circuited and its life drops drastically.

Never hold battery cell with metal twisser, it will short the battery.

I changed my batteries three or four times and always used metal ones. Never had any problems. But do agree that it is more safe to use plastic tweezers but none of the watch tool kit comes with plastic one, not even the German ones
