Best feature of this action is the price. Hard to beat with the features it has. All for $899 and as custom actions go that is pretty darn good
@rshotty90395 ай бұрын
this is why I bought the Archimedes and love that action. Ted is doing huge things in the bolt world. I love the CDG being able to do both
@mrjeffjob7 ай бұрын
I am seriously considering this action BECAUSE of interchangeable bolt faces. I want modularity so I’m not buying stocks, triggers, bolts etcetera. Especially after having to buy a .445 bolt and a .473 bolt to go with the .390 bolt I got with my Curtis Axiom .223 barreled action I bought. $1100 for the action/ bolt combo and $450 each additional bolt times 2 comes to $2000. I could get this action/ bolt combo for $900 and 2 bolt heads at $175 each times 2 and pay $1250 vs $2000 on the Curtis. The Curtis does not have the integral lug or rail, no adjustable trigger hanger or AW mag cut. So to the guy who wanted to know why $900 I say HOW? How could they build such a feature rich action for 500-600 less than others that can’t even compare? Guess who’s buying one? 😂

It’s funny I found your channel today as I just bought one of your tuners a few days ago. I was lucky enough to get my Coup de Grace in a few months ago and love everything about it. Great video on some of the aspects of this action.

Ted had said in his video that the Triggertech diamond is recommended to use the static bolt handle.
@trxreagan5 ай бұрын
Yes he did but you can run a timber trigger and be just fine. It’s also probably better if you run the triggertech to run a two stage trigger. I prefer two stage for precision anyway.
@suzgabverdugo9335 ай бұрын
Oh daddy like😂 the price is precision for the quality!

An adjustable trigger hanger is a cool feature. But I feel trigger timing is something alot of people don't know enough about. That they should actually be adjusting it. Next thing they wont have enough pin fall and will start getting inconsistent ignition.
@aaronhippATS Жыл бұрын
Anyone buying a custom action is most likely having a smith build their rifle who would adjust it for them. If they choose to fiddle with it afterwards then thats on them. Adjustable trigger hangers offer the most flexibility to get proper timing with different trigger brands

Hey Aaron, will you run a light ( you said 6 oz) trigger with the pivoting BH in comps? Thanks for this. Eager to get mine and shoot it.
@aaronhippATS Жыл бұрын
I've run 6oz triggers in interchangeable bolts heads for years.
@MauroMagrassi Жыл бұрын
@@aaronhippATS I asked because ARC recommends the fixed bolt handle with light triggers…
@aaronhippATS Жыл бұрын
@Mauro Magrassi Thats because he has to be overly cautious for liability reasons only as a business. Ive run 6-7oz triggers in Nucleus, Archimedias, Coup de Grace etc for years.

How much pressure once assembled as a rifle is it to open and close the action? I would like to build another bench rifle but my disappointment with some actions is how much it upsets the rifle in the bags and going off target.

What bottom metal will it accept , do you need to pull the trigger to remove the bolt?

Im confused on ARC's site and their videos (yours included), they recommend not to run the TriggerTech triggers, but both your videos show the action with those triggers. So is it good to go?
@aaronhippATS Жыл бұрын
I never recommended not to use TT. I use 100% TT
@InkwellFoto Жыл бұрын
@aaronhippATS no you didn't, ARC website said not to use TT with pivoting bolt handles. So I'm confused with your demonstration showing nothing wrong with the light trigger
@Kylef7735 Жыл бұрын
"We suggest using fixed bolt handles for Trigger Tech Diamonds, Bix'N Andy Tac Sport Pro, and other ultra-lightweight triggers." Thats all the website says about TT. Not sure where you saw what you're claiming to have seen.
@InkwellFoto Жыл бұрын
@Kylef7735 exactly, it is saying to use the fixed handle so the opposite is true, not to use the pivoting handle. I believe it is saying that concerning Alam fire but in the video he is demonstrating this isn't an issue. On their videos same thing. So why are they recommending the fixed handle?

Will the action use a Rem-age or Savage style barrel with a barrel nut?
@jeremystandke6885 ай бұрын
No. The bolt face I'd a conical design. In short action. Magnums may be a option
@ryanswanson11502 ай бұрын
What is the best mag to use? I heard one works better than the rest???
@aaronhipp54512 ай бұрын
Standard AI mags work just fine. The best AW mag imo is the new GrayOps CNC mag.

Mr. Hipp. I'm looking at the CDG and the Solus. Solus for the money, and CDG for the quality. I'm not an expert at all, nor do I have the two actions in hand. But from what I can see (and find) these two have a lot in common. One just has more attention to quality done. Is that a fair assesment, or is it much deeper than that?
@aaronhippATS4 ай бұрын
They are quite a bit different in their design and engineering. The Solus is a standard 60deg 3lug action. The CDG is a fat bolt design with cantilevered style extraction or standard rem style but trust my you want the cantilevered handle. Also the materials used on the components are also different. The CDG has more features, better design and higher quality action all around.
@Ripper13F1VАй бұрын
@@aaronhippATS Thanks, CDG for the win, will have one in hand in the next month or so.

Might never need hammered up but might need hammered back so what is the advantage ?
@aaronhippATS Жыл бұрын
Why would it need hammered down? The only way you would hammer down is if youre trying to shove an oversized round in the chamber which you dont do and would be no different than any other action
@jacobcastro18859 ай бұрын
In the prone it's a lot easier to pull back on the bolt than it is to force the lift. It's about changing the direction of effort to a more convenient/efficient direction. Cool concept... practical? I don't know. Maybe.

the only thing i can say so far is arc sure doesnt keep you updated on anything after you have order one i order one in feb. still not got it and havent heard anything from them about it looks to me like they could update people on what is going on but guess they have to just make friends and pros. happy not the no body's that order from them
@aaronhippATS10 ай бұрын
ARC is a sizable company. They provide estimates at time of order but to provide ongoing updates is extremely time consuming and would only delay things further. In order to deliver products you need to be able to focus on the manufacturing of them.

@@aaronhippATS well thats all good but a five minutes to add a update to the wed site isnt much time consuming and when i preorder they was no time set and i looked for a wait but then i see people on here showing how they are getting their action will not looking good from my end and i have had the barrel here waiting for weeks already but hey its all good you are tied in with them so its all good

Interchangeable bolt head is not a feature its a short cut , like a savage, they are cheap low end rifles and they use removable bolt heads .
@aaronhippATS Жыл бұрын
Not true at all, and this isnt designed like a savage
@nonetheless01 Жыл бұрын
@aaronhippATS no. Your wrong , the removable bolt head makes it designed like a savage , it's not a feature, selling with multiple vlots for different bolt face diameters would be a feature , a removable bolt head is a cop out seen on junk ass savage rifles .
@aaronhippATS Жыл бұрын
@rageagainstthelibs you realize you can get ARC bolt heads supporting up to magnum bolt faces correct? Im not wrong on this. Its a feature.

Comparing any ARC action, regardless of features, to a Savage action is like comparing a Ferrari to a Hyundai!!!! ARC builds “Top Shelf” actions, not mass produced mediocre actions. Do your homework before making an ignorant statement such as this.
