Elastic strings outlasting chains? Hard to believe.

The idea is not so new. The strings are not stretching. But they have to be replaced very soon.

About the Stringdrive: 1) It isn't new. That tech is at least 15 years old. 2) The cords are NOT elastic. They are a type of paracord, with minimal stretch. 3) They were never adopted because the stringdrive mechanism is heavier, bulkier, and the strings had a VERY low service life compared to standard chains.

Belt drive bicycles are proven to be better than chain drive, but string ?

Please correct me if I am incorrect, but this is CVT for bikes? Also, I agree with @ronpiper8496, why not go with Belts that last?
@minhdao4790
@minhdao4790 3 ай бұрын
This is not CVT for bikes. Belts are absolutely a viable alternative to chains, just like the stringdrive. But that's up to the user.

There’s village in Italy that have installed giant mirrors like this 1:17 at the top of the ridge, to shine some extra sunlight into the valley below. Especially for times of the year when the sun is low. This was a few years ago, I’d like to know how the project has “weathered”.

Most of these gadgets are unproven, expensive and some of it is just plain weird. A good percentage of these gadgets are never going to go anywhere. Nonetheless, it's interesting to witness technology coming to market.

In reference to the vehicle flying, purchased by the Air Force. You said Canadian Victoria to Vancouver in 41 minutes. At 155 mph ? The distance between those two cities is nearly, exactly 60 miles. The math doesn’t work!
@johnlozauskas778
@johnlozauskas778 3 ай бұрын
Good catch. I would imagine the machine is not driven at 100% of capacity. So if someone went 120mph, then it would take 30 minutes. Math comes to the rescue again.

God, I have never heard of a more "anti-invention" than the glare-flash bang flower. Seriously, i do everything I can to STOP sunglare from getting in my room. I RATHER take smart bulbs that I can dim over the sun blinde-siding me every time I look out the window. All that's gonna do is create glair on my computer monitor or tv screen.

Most of this is in another video. 2:58)Now that i have seen the robot restaurant, I wonder if the California, US $20.00 per hour fast food wage is to pave the way. Bring back the coin operated cafeterias. 8:14)The Verge electric motorcycle costs US $30,000+ counting the taxes.

That sunflower is a bad idea. It looks like every annoying mirror that's ever blinded me with sunlight that I've had to move in my house except now I can pay a few hundred bucks and blind people of my choice cuz I can aim it. It would be one thing if it was one of those like cool skylight diffuser thingies that put sunlight into your room from above like a like a light bulb does. This does not do that though. It's literally just a mirror that shines the sun into your eyes. If it's not in your eyes, maybe you're the one person in the room that is getting the benefit of just the sunlight. But I guarantee you you're going to be blinding at least one other person in the room or making one other seat a place that can't be saddened for a period of time or possibly even ruining your furniture, etc. Because you're blasting it with solar radiation
@johnholmes6897
@johnholmes6897 6 ай бұрын
Agreed! The heat that comes off reflecting sunlight is brutal that's assuming your eyes haven't been burned out already. Not a lot thought went into that thing
@iteerrex8166
@iteerrex8166 6 ай бұрын
It can be good if the building is tall, and the mirror is aimed somewhere at the top of the wall or even the ceiling, through a high window, or a tall window. Another thing, it doesn’t look durable. In a cold climate the weather can wreak havoc on it.

The eye glass correction glasses are fantastic but at $88000.00 that literally leaves out low income folks! For that matter alone I think they are missing out on potentially hundreds of thousands of them being purchased by low and middle income folks that might need them and I know 90% of insurance companies have a strict price point that is allowed for prescription eye wear. Unless you have a low income program they'll be missing out on millions in sales, just sayin!

The bike featured at the end makes me wonder. The concept is interesting, but it doesn't seem to be that practical. Yes, replacing chains is the least enjoyable part of bicycle maintenance. Yet , a metal chain at least can't be cut by anything sharp.

I realize they build more bikes than wheelchairs but why the hell is this thing worth 1200 bucks and a wheelchair costs even Medicare user that much and then it cost Medicare twice as much it’s such bullshit cause all the wheelchair has that’s mechanical if you will, is the wheel brakes or the wheel locks, if you will cause they’re not actually brakes there’s no handlebars there’s no gear changing there’s nothing there’s still two wheels about the same size of amount frame and they gouge us and that is ridiculous!
