Watching this video made me understand quarter sawing and how it’s done and some of the reasons why it is done. I think some of the viewing angles that you provided throughout their demonstration, made it easy for us to see why they were doing what they were doing even though there wasn’t any commentary. Well done my friend! 🙂👍

Nathan, in the first five minutes of the video, did you see how they set up the flexible sawdust hole from the Woodmizer, to the top of the building and goes along with pipe. This the best method with minimum of saws dust. That is the key plan.

Sycamore is some of the heaviest and densest wood I have ever cut, it's a messy tree too with it's seasonal seed pods and blowing bark.......

Call me weird, but I always get a buzz out of seeing well stickered stacks. Seeing that dude move the stick a few mm so it was perfectly placed made me smile. Something about care and attention to sticker placing... .

When do we get to see sawdust sifting and sawdust/shavings bagging equipment? Around here, the livestock people can’t get enough of it when put into reasonable sized bags or totes.

Thos pines were really sawn fast. Is that because they are pine and can take a little more speed or just the way this guy saws?

Very nice video Nathan I learned some new things, How was the trip down hope you didn't get stuck on the Super Loop around Atlanta, (I found I could get through Atlanta faster by staying on 85) The Man in the Clemson T Shirt looked familiar did you have his name. (I'm 35 mins from Clemson but Hail to UGA!) Great Job on the drone cam that one guy looked like he was shooing you off like Gnats LOL Have a safe trip home. John

Is this event by invitation only or is there an application process? I have talked to you at the Paul Bunyan show past two years I don't know if you remember me or not. I am from Jefferson SC. I am sawmilling full time and looking to learn as much as i can. I would love to have the opportunity to network with other sawyers.

Not sure the purpose of the rolling quarter saw technique or whatever. Case in point, we do not see this method performed @ Nathan's mill & the Elliott approach seems sufficiently profitable, judged by the accumulation of tools, equipment, fried baloney dinners, property/building expansion, + a happy wife. 🇺🇸🗽
