Amazing Mitsubishi Internal Observation Elevators at Pan Pacific Singapore

Originally installed in 1985-1986 by Mitsubishi. These are the internal elevators which serves the lower floors of the hotel. The upper floors are served by the exterior elevators.

The architects took very apt design considerations in making sure these lifts (H5C-H8C) still open up towards a beautiful hotel view on the 22nd floor w/o any blockade by the overhanging concrete structure to "encapsulate" the lift shaft at the very top. This is why the lift track goes on for 2 more floors above Level 22 where there is the concrete overhang and finally cables go into the ceiling at the top of Level 24. The Lift Motor Room is thus on Level 25, accessible from the Rooms 2501-2514 corridor. Then on Level 26, the roof of the H5C-H8C elevator structure, sits a very tucked away lounge with a counter and sink facility. You could go in and relax there if you stayed on the 26th floor.

Looks like the outer indicator are made by Vander Technology.

These things look cheaper than a regular 1st/2nd/3rd gen Mitsubishi. Generic looking buttons and indicator, bad chime (same chime as Shanghai Mitsubishi), cheap sounding doors, etc. Things do not feel right, considering that this is Mitsubishi.

Well these were modernized by a local generic company (9G Elevators) not Mitsubishi so no wonder these look rather cheap. It's ironic that even a luxurious expensive hotel decided to choose a generic company instead to do cheap looking modernizations.

+IndoTravelGuy200 I agree. Even regular generic doors in most lifts do not make this noise. This lift is absolutely terrible after the mod. I can't believe how the person who manages the building trusts those company even though they obviously have the budget to rely on Mitsubishi themselves. This is no different to buying a Toyota car and having a sketchy company maintain it.

That's because these have NOT been Mitsubishi in a long time, they were modernised by 9G in 2006 then refurbished in 2015. Even the service lifts have been modernised (some even replaced) by 9G.
