AMAZING Nature Journaling Story ☆ 91 years, 91 miles

In 2019, 91-year-old Mary Truell walked 91 miles in Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserves and raised over £7000 for the trust. She joins me in this video for a chat about her nature journals, in which she documented her travels. Mary's journals show anyone can try nature journaling, regardless of your age or how artistic you feel that you are. Wonderful to see Mary recalling her adventures in the wilder parts of Devon! A totally inspirational woman and very pleased to join her for some of the remote and beautiful places in North Devon. Happy memories of 4 years ago!!

Absolutely delightful! Thank you for sharing your work with us. My Mother is 92 this month. Bird and deer watching is what she likes to do. Alex introduced me to nature journaling. We live in Texas. I love the idea of recording in a scrapbook.

What a spirited lady! She’s got more oomph than many half her age, and I’m so proud of her. Thanks for sharing this with us. I find myself, at halfway through life, thinking there is so much I miss from my childhood-and I see how much we did take for granted, thinking it was just always gonna be “like this.” There are many of us now trying to do our part in spreading the gospel, not only reminding folks to NOT take what we do have for granted, but also trying to bring back some of the things we tossed aside and getting rid of some of the things we accepted and embraced that just need to go.

This is something I can do!!! I’m not artistic as far as drawing. It’s something I work on but photography is definitely my strong point. I love how she put this together and utilized other artwork to put the journals together. Such wonderful ideas. Thanks for making this video. I feel like I have the liberty to start on mine now!

Such an interesting lady so in touch with nature. Emsworthy Mire is worth visiting mid May if you get the chance and yes I've heard the cuckoo's there

Thanks, Sarah! I don't know, I don't think so as far as I'm aware, as lots of the content is personal in nature - family photos etc. And other parts are from magazines, but I would love to sit and read all the words she has written - there is a lot there 😊
