We did the same for my son and the open bite came back as soon as the braces came off despite him never missing one day of his retainers. Now we have to start over with Invisalign after wasting $5000 the first time around. So frustrating!!

I’m exactly in the same boat. I spent two years with braces, only for my teeth to move back the way they were. The misalignment messed up some of my back teeth, seriously reducing their longevity. Most dentist only care about the treatment, once it’s done they don’t care about the follow up. Although techniques exist and are well documented.

@@adrienferreira4666 I'm currently doing braces treatment for lateral open bite, it hass been 7 months and my bite is 50% better than previous situation, but I'm worried what if after my braces got removed, it again become like previous situation, Any suggestion would you like to give me in this case??

@@laibarukhsar7359 the only thing I would suggest is to start taking about your post-treatment with your orthodontist as soon as possible. Make them explain to you clearly what they’ve envisioned for your alignment to stay stable once it’s done. If you realise they don’t really care or give you vague plans, I would suggest once the treatment is done to go see another orthodontist and build a plan. That’s what I should have done at the time. Plus, now I’m mentally prepared about wearing a retainer for life after my treatment.

My ortho just put me in bands a month ago the gap is closing more but not anywhere near as fast as this case i wear my bands 23 hrs

I have same open bite, yet to get it done. Hopefully, I will save some money to get it done this year and I will be 30yrs this year. I hope it works fine for me

You have lived that many years (30 years) with an open bite, I had a lateral open bite but it's symptoms were severe like here was always some tension and stretching sensation at my temples, nose breathing was difficult, sinuses were congested(mucous accumulation) , my voice was more like it's via nose not throat, Didn't you feel any symptom ?? Didn't open bite affect you in anyway??

Yes braces should definitely help! Please ask your orthodontist about your treatment plan

This is up to the orthodontist. However if you maintain it by cleaning it well and you go to the dentist every six months for a cleaning it can last years!

Hello I have an question. So if I put my back teeth on eachoter my big and small teeth at my lips will then go down Do I have to get braces? (If u can't awnser it ok)

As far as I know A proper teeth posture ensures maintenance of healthy bite but it doesn't correct faulty bite, you must have to undergo dental treatment

I would recommend the elastics from your orthodontist. No do not use rubber bands from the store

Hi Dr. how is it going? I have a patient who is nearly 10 years old.. has a mildly.... restricted maxilla anteriorly.. CL 1 molar relationship with OJ about nearly 8 mm. and rotated upper centrals.. After expansion.. I went to fixed appliance.. for alignment and leveling.. de rotation.. I gained spaces among ant. teeth.. After retraction.. there was still an OJ of nearly 5 mm. so in this case.. can we do a serial extraction to get more space for retraction and follow up? please Dr. your kind opinion.. I know it is difficult to assess the case without a clinical examination and x_ray analysis. thank you so much

Hello, I would definitely recommend full X-rays and updated analysis by a specialist. I cannot give you orthodontic advice for a specific patient over youtube. Best of luck.

Hello?is gum grafting treatment permanent?I have little bit of gum recession only in my front two teeth.Is the surgery painful? costing?please reply

Hi yes it can be painful and your gums will be sore. But this is often the best thing for the long term health of your gums. Talk to your periodontist (gum doctor) for more details about the costs & surgery. Goodluck

How different of biomechanics between clear and not clear braces?

Clear vs Metal does not influence the biomechanics for this case, or any case. However, clear braces do break more often than metal braces.
