If you listen to the very end of the song Berry (the drummer) says ah fuck that hurt so bad! We really need to give more love to drummer's especially to song's that are as hard as this! Singers go through hell too having to keep up their vocals along with running around on stage along with all the lights on them at live show's. Hell all of them do! It's hard enough to do a music video let alone a two hour live performance. it's crazy that most people don't stop to even think about this, they just expect perfection 100% of the time. Shinedown is an amazing band and no two albums sound alike. One of my absolute favorites. Unity, The Crow and The Butterfly, I'll Follow you, Black soul, all great songs!! Coheed and Cambria are another great band that don't get enough recognition. Try Old Flames, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3, Gravity's Union, Colors, or the Suffering by them. However most people will tell you that Welcome Home is their signature song.

I've had the pleasure of meeting Shinedown while shooting their meet & greet and their set photos of them at Rock Fest/Tampa (I'm a photographer for a radio station)for the last 4 years. Super fun guys that put on one of the best shows I've ever been to!! Waiting impatiently for the world to come back from covid so I can do their shows again.

I absolutely love this band! But this is actually one of my least favorites by them. It’s so different from their normal sound. Brent Smith, the lead singer, does like to be a positive influence though. This song’s message is good though, it’s about a overcoming things that are detrimental to your well being. I think for him he’s talking about drugs because he’s a recovering addict.
