Materials used:
1. Submersible Pump 18Watt with a Water Flow Control Valve & 3-Way Water Distributor - amzn.to/30rte0O
2. Spray Paints(Yellow, green, black, brown) - amzn.to/3lbApC3
3. Water pipe - amzn.to/3l4pUR6
4. Aquarium Pipe - amzn.to/3cQCEYI
5. Styrofoam 1/2", 1", 2"
6. Putty - amzn.to/3l8fVKw
7. Stainer Colour(Y oxide, Brown)
8. Foamboard 3mm - amzn.to/34lU0bU
Tools
Hot Glue Gun: amzn.to/2C6weEh

Key Notes:
* For painting I used Stainer Colour(Y oxide, Brown) and spray paints to highlight.

I wounder if this would work inside a fish tank as a back ground would it be safe for the fish I am doing something simular right now

Using polystyrene may not be a good option for the fishes. But your idea can be made using broken marbles or broken tiles stacked somewhat like this and as it's going to stay inside the aquarium, white sand fountain will look amazing.

Bonita, pero poco práctica para interiores del hogar, salpica mucha agua y se moja todo el suelo. Hay que inventar fuentes no solo bonitas sino que no salpique tanta agua y moje el suelo lo menos posible. Saludos
