The Neve 1073 typically had the 1084 EQ in front of it, that would change your game. The Genzler re/Q would also be interesting in front the BMP.

Seems like a JHS Colour Box, but without the plethora of features (semi-parametric eq, second Neve preamp in series for higher gain, step function, balanced in and out, etc.). The Colour Box V2 is my favourite piece of gear (without a close second), so I bet this is great, too!

I feel like "studio grade" is used way too often for marketing reasons but nobody actually knows what it means beside "probably better than anything you would not use in a studio", which is..?

I don't understand this line of products much. Do you not record with an amp? If not, if you record digitally, won't you put out a amp/cab sim + effects. How much of a difference will it make once in the mix vs other clean DI boxes? How can you hear the difference between this and let's say a a Radial DI box?

Taxes are due soon here in the US. This lovely box is a bit pricey at the moment. So I will have to remain content with a Darkglass Harmonic Boost and old Tubeworks Blue Tube for now.

What I findso difficult about pedals is that it is almost impossible to try them all out. You need to be lucky for stores to have all the pedals you wanna try in store. And ordering them all online and returning them all except one... Not very efficient. What would you recommend?

Could one use this as a vocal mic preamp through the xlr in? I’m so bass a vocals and might justify the expense of it can do both. I did a vocal studio session recently that just went mic direct into the console, bypassing the eq. The sound was fantastic. Would love to replicate that in my home studio.

Every time you upload a video it's "Oh boy, here I go GASing again", even with this high end studio grade stuff I have no real need for. I'd be really interested to hear this side by side with a JHS colour box, since that is also supposed to give you a 1073 strip in a pedal incorporating a transformer but with an EQ stack and HPF.

Is it only the box that we hear? No significant post processing or EQ? If so, wow amazing! No need for a cab sim with this thing...

Is there any point in even trying to compare this (kind of) product to for example a Neural DSP Quad Cortex? Or would you use them together? If so, how? I am currently looking for a way to record bass without and amp since I cannot do that where I live, and I find particularly the Quad Cortex extremely interesting for all the Captures etc.
