I think it's amazing all the new ideas & inventions that people come up with to make life better & easier for us, these people are on another level of education from us & it's proven by the ideas they come up with.

As an engineer, I found 14:57 to be fascinating. They are chipping out a trench in the upper layer/flange of the bridge. You need a tension/compression couple in the base/top of the bridge, respectively, for it to remain stable, so when they chip out an ever larger trench from the top, with zero compression capacity, at some point there just isn't enough concrete at the top to hold the bridge in place. You can kind of tell, and using , and . to see individual frames helps a lot, that the catastrophic damage is that trench cut being slammed shut, aka, the concrete next to the trench cut crushes. It's also interesting that they make it more than halfway across the support before it fails (and you can tell the side concrete's not doing much), so there had been quite a bit of extra capacity, a well built bridge. Tho in service, a lot of that "extra capacity" is used to support the design traffic load, itself.

5:20 That's just a regular hose nozzle at full fog. We use them for that exact purpose to create a water shield for burning gases. You have to step as one to march in and turn off the gas valve. It's scary as can be when you have a giant fire with 2 teams and all 7 people are walking in together knowing that if one person drops the ball everyone can be seriously injured.

that popcorn machine basicly stops the kernels from popping open trough pressure, and heats them to a higher temp then regular popping temperature without actually burning them, then when the bag is placed over it with the handle sticking out its popped open and the pressure drops instantly making all kernels pop open and out of the device into the bag, for near perfect round popcorns

a better alternative than the simple and common practice of using paint thinner and a bucket? you wanna mess around with pressurized water to do the same task? by the time you set it up you would have had your brush clean. how often are industrial painters switching colors? not very often. its usually the same bland colors over and over again.

Sadly for all of the inventors and people behind these tools, so many have one thing in common, they aren't practical enough for to catch on and achieve ongoing widespread use, they have drawbacks of initial expense, durability, cleaning, setup and takedown, storage, transportation, parts availability. People will largely go on with all the old fashioned ways of doing things
