There a great little unit . They also come with no light as well if you take a look about and I wish we had got them sooner cos I wouldn’t need to make it fit in a swich mate . Thanks for watching

Just make sure you connect the cables properly . They are labeld but ppl don’t read the instructions . I’m also guilty of that

No not at all . Iv never ever thought of it as well but the max I have my battery’s is 13.8 and even that 1.8v extra there fine . And that’s been like that in the past 3 vans as well . We never had an issue . I don’t think Iv heard any one having a problem as well to be honest guys

Baggy hole :P That wire shrink wrap solder thing is pretty genius. That switch would be perfect on a computer desk and pretty much anywhere really. Be great for the bedroom too. Small and simple Love the touch style and dimmer ability.

Awww Poppy. Glad you blasted those large words that it wasn't Emma. Would have hated for you to show up in the next video in a body cast LOL. I need to just ignore the whole conversation about the issue with the switch being too small. Moving on! lol. That's a really awesome tiny switch. I kind of like that it lights up blue. Never getting a Lambo? That's a bummer. Funny how you can plan a video and a few other people have the exact same idea around the same time. Have had that happen before. Dimmer doesn't work with common negative systems :-( Hi, thanks for a great video, I've been looking for a solution for our motorhome which has LED strips all over on one switch. Unfortunately it's wired so all the positives to the lights go back to the switch, but the negatives are wired to different points around the van. I've found these dimmers don't work if you wire the output negative to the common van negative, the lights just stay on full. Can anyone recommend a dimmer that works in this scenario?

Innit the mains as in 240v . I don’t mate cos our system is 12v . But most of them lights come with a plug and conectors thst reduces the 240 to 12 and it’s a simple plug vans play

HI , I have had the same kind of problem with the light (blue ring light) glowing when off , changed the wire's around (ie red switch wire to black van wire and black switch wire to red van wire and hey presto all worked as it should

Yer it’s just pos and neg to the unit and then pos and neg to the light . People have had problems but mainly cos there connecting the both negatives together . Make sure they are wired to the correct wires . And yea I just snipped off the plug

Great video once again, s I decided to follow your example and ordered some from Amazon. Mine came it’s four cables. Two red. One black and one white. Only problem is, mine have two wires. One red and oberen and black…. Any ideas?

The cables should be marked up on the actual cable or in the instructions buddy . If I was to guess I’d say red to supply live . Other red to the light . Black to supply earth and white to light earth

It’s pretty easy bud The switch has 4 cables Pos and neg go to the battery Pos and neg go to the device A lot of people think they can put the negatives together you can’t But they are on the actual cables . They have tabs on them telling you what wire goes to what mate Hope this helps

@@UrbanVanlife ok I did it and took me about 10-15mins. There's a fair bit of glue or resin that seals the wire. I tried to use a knife to cut away but all that did was make a groove. So I took the soldering iron and pressed into the small grove I made, the resin didn't melt but came away. I did only a bit and then the whole thing pulled out of the case. I picked off the 4 leds with my finger nail and put it back into the casing. It didn't work at first. After taking out and putting back in making sure the little springs were in casing ok it worked absolutely fine. So I will do the other ones now seeing as it all worked out. The blue lights are gone forever 😁 Good luck Edit- the 2nd one i forcefully pulled and it came out of casing...forget the whole soldering iron. Brute force did it lol

The wires should be labeld mate or there should be instructions with it . But basically one side of the swich is pos and Neg to the feed and the other is pos and neg to the light . They have to be wired exactly that way cos it’s a negative dimmer

@@UrbanVanlife can’t get them work on dim wired to switch and just on all time I’ve got 3 way switch one end earth middle is power other end goes to light I’ve wired one side dimmer to power and earth other side to earth and source it’s on all time so just swapped source side of dimmer swapped leads over

@@UrbanVanlife I wonder if you could help me? I bought one using your link and it was delivered today. It's come with mini Jacks on it though which has confused me. I've worked our though, that male is negative and female is positive. I've made a circuit, from battery - positive wire to switch, from switch negative wire to light and then positive to battery again. The light comes on but the switch doesn't work. Either I've broken the switch in trying or I've got the wiring wrong. I know you're probably busy but if you have time to help I'd be really grateful. X

Having a similar problem to others here in that there's 4 wires, can't figure out how to wire them, lights are constantly on.. Any help?! I am aware what are the pos and neg wires and still spliced with the wires from lights and wires to batteries but no idea why aren't getting dimmer or the little blue light on?!?! Helpppp

ok so imagine pos an neg coming off the battery going to the light , if you cut both and attach the pos and and neg on the swich that are for the feed and the pos and neg to the light off the swich , the cables are marked if you read the instructions , which saddly i didnt lol once i had i realised that i had it wired the wrong way round ,

Hey buddy, a positive and negative go to the 12 volt supply and a positive and negative go to the light, I soldered one end but used solder tubes the other end, hope this helps

Yer mate 2 are your pos and neg from the (let’s say the battery ) and then the other 2 are pos and neg to the light . It just goes in the chain is ya get me . I should have shown that . Sorry mate

These are great. I have four not the same as yours I’ve only fitted one so far but I noticed that it’s draining my battery stupid because it has a blue light ring around it that always stays on :( not sure 🤔 why it’s draining my battery :(

Well I bought a couple of these switches, no idea how to wire it up. I can wire it up so the lights are Permanently on, and get the led to light up can't get it to switch off or dim. Any help appreciated.

Have you got all the pos and neg wires correctly wired . The wire with the text on it is the pos and the one with the white broken line is the neg from what I remember . That’s what I remember but on the cables it should have a silver tab telling you what’s what mate

The led lights we fitted where just normal ones mate . Just white . And the switch dose alll the work . Well it reduced the voltage to dim and reverse to brighten . It’s just a prettier way than a rotary swicj

Just to say, I sell led lighting for a living. Not every led strip is Dimmable. Yours is working fine, but unless u previously checked its a stroke of luck that they dimmed. A non-dimmable strip will flicker continuesly when dimmed. It will also dramatically reduce the life of your LED. Not to critise mate as I love your tutorials.
