2 жыл бұрынFrom the Overlook on Overlook Mountain you can see the Hudson River. The Ashokan Reservoir supplies The Big Apple - New York City with 90% of their water. This is to date one of the best vistas for views I have experienced. Come along as I take you to the edge on the Rock outcropping known as Overlook Mountain.

I really enjoyed filming this Overlook! Some say this is the best Overlook in the Catskill Mountains. What do you think? Is there one better? Would love to know. Thanks Tony

Hey Tony, I'm spending my Sunday going through some of your older videos. I was born and raised in the beautiful Hudson river valley so finding this video is a real treat. If you ever drive back up check out a great little town called Chatham NY, a real gem!

Overlook is always my first hike of the season. The abandoned hotel is truly amazing. Only one mt I can think of in Catskills that has a better view would be Thomas Cole MTN.

Very nice. We were at Flat Rock yesterday that video will be coming. Coronal Denning State Park. That was a rough climb but well worth the effort.

Nice of you to show David at the end. Clearly he is a knowledgeable source on the area. Interesting to see some of the older carvings in the rocks too. I have been enjoying your videos very much, we seem to be interested in many of the same topics and locations, so perhaps I will see you out there one day!

Any Rattlesnakes on trail? does one need to pack anti venom on hikes such as this?

I was hoping to see one but unfortunately didn't on trail. Think it was too cool or not warm enough for them to be out. I don't think you would need to pack any anti venom with you on this trail. I would be cautious if you venture off trail especially when stepping over logs.

From the parking area to the Overlook is roughly 1hr hike pretty uphill most of the way. Give yourself extra time because you pass the amazing Old Hotel Ruins and the fire tower.
