Is it possible to beat every required boss in Dark Souls 3 while playing as a mimic? No rolling, no estus, no chance?!
FAQs:
Why aren’t you playing through the entire game as the enemy?
There are a number of blockers standing in the way:
Maps don’t load. You can’t go up ladders. You can’t go through fog walls. You can’t interact with NPCs. The list goes on.
Why didn’t you do x move?
While I’m taking control of an enemy via the debug menu, I don’t have access to every move. This may change in future videos though since Pantagana has shown me how to bind enemy animations via cheat engine.
Why didn’t you change phases?
While I’m taking control of an enemy via the debug menu, I am unable to change phases.
How are you able to do this?
You can switch to controlling each enemy via the game’s debug menu. You can pick up this mod on Nexus Mods. You'll need to learn how to mod the game first though. Pantagana has a great guide on how to do this: • How to set up Boss vs ...

The explanation for Aldrich is pretty simple, you coded the grab to instantly put the bosses in critical attack state (no surprise it's busted heh), but Aldrich is one of the only bosses in the game that cannot be staggered or riposted at all, so he doesn't have any critical strike animation and thus is immune to the grab attack

I think the main reason why Aldritch couldn't be grabbed is because Aldritch has no riposte animation to call on when grabbed. Every boss you've grabbed has a riposte animation that is used.

FYI at 7:41 for the Yuria launch - that isn't weird, looks like Dancer just did the Dark version of the semi-circle attack that has an upward burst a few seconds afterwards that can launch the player, there's a fire version too if she uses the other sword. Dancer got that attack out before the Mimic grab, the first bit of it hit Yuria too.

Did you know sacred flame can be used to stun lock the crystal sage and Frieda I’m pretty sure there are other bosses also with the Aldrich sapphire ring it will give fp and the ruby will give hp back if you can do the animation on it Also the Aldrich thing may be because he doesn’t have a repost animation or a stun animation

I do like the ds1-3 mimic, but my favorite into ds2, boi crawls around like he possessed, also he lunges at you when you hit him instead of just standing up :0

I didn't record it, but during some test fights I tried out the possessed mimic and his movement speed and attack range were abysmal so I had to go with the original mimic. I agree, that DS2 mimic is frightening though.

How did you look through the games code? Is there a full disassembly, or is it just ai and movement scripts? Very curious as id like to learn how modding these games is done

I used a program called UXM to unpack the games files and from there a parameter editing tool and map editing tool to modify the game's files. You can find out more about it in the Test Data discord or on Nexus.

Well, not gonna lie, it was less interesting that the other videos of that series. I mean, you allowed the mimic to grab bosses, what did you expect ? It locks them down while dealing damage. It's like a long one shot. Thus far, I think that Soul of Cinder was the most interesting boss to see in action ! You should try to do a Gael run with boss phase 1 and phase 2 forms.

I definitely have plans to do a Gael run, but there are a few others I need to get through first that more viewers have asked for (namely the Dragonslayer Armor and Undead Cleric). @@aDudeNamedMike Hey Mike, sorry, but that's not true at all. I do my best to respond to everyone and I ask people for their opinions all the time. People suggested that my titles were clickbait so I changed them. Others expressed that I shouldn't have changed HP values in my runs so my latest run has standard HP NG+7 values. Since I've gained the ability to do community posts, I've posted two polls asking everyone for their opinion on how I should do my runs. I take pride in incorporating the feedback of my viewers, however, it's impossible to please everyone. I like to think that I try much harder than other creators to listen to you all.
