I started boycotting Amazon a couple of years ago because of that. Previously, most of the stuff I bought came from Amazon.

Some people have absolutely no concept of personal security! Wait till some criminals figure out how to hack these things! They'll use it to make a complete video inventory of valuable items you have in your home that are worth stealing! Then they'll have the thing roll all around your house making sure that no one's home! Then they'll break in and rob you blind! And the final insult will be that when you come home, even the Astro will be gone!

Especially that cellphone which also records all of your browsing and shopping preferences then forwards them to Amazon, Google, your ISP, and even cellular network provider, et al. You let them in more than a decade ago.

I guarantee that there is a conference room filled with people at Amazon brainstorming how they can downplay all of the terrible negative things about this device! And they are all sitting around figuring the best way to make it look cool and cute and convenient and useful! But the thing is mainly a massive invasion of privacy! And a huge security breach! I personally find it absolutely frightening to think that the device is mobile, has cameras, microphones and can speak and transmit wirelessly! You will have absolutely no idea what it's doing or who it is sending information to while it is rolling around your home analyzing everything you have and what you're doing!
