I have had a FireStick for some years now. I love it. Very easy to install and maneuver.I did try a Roku but hated it. There are many free non-subcription apps, but of course you have to pay for Netflix, HBO, and the like. You do not need a smart TV but you do need one with an HDMI port. The advantage is that you have all those apps in one place, and, with it, you have the equivalent of a smart TV. Que viva FireStick!

I had thought of getting a fire stick when I had Spectrum Cable TV, but wasn't sure about it,besides Spectrum Cable TV took off one of my favorite programs after years of playing it,what was this program you may want to know,it was "Lassie" I found out Dish Network plays it over:FETV-Family Entertainment TV- so I went with Dish,had to go with a higher package to get that Channel but now I can tape "Lassie" on my Hopper DVR at 3:00 a.m. and have the joy of watching it when its convenient for me!!!!
