This would be a nightmare at Walmart the way customers just leave crap they don't want everywhere, eat rotisserie chicken and leave the bones on the shelves, steal sex toys out of their packages, etc.!!!

Amazon fresh literally charged me for EVERYTHING I touched. Like that’s so janky. Stuff I didn’t even walked out the store with they charged me.

Great watch! I like the idea and execution of them. Tho outchea we have one and it's a bit pricey like one of the other comments noted so i still find myself going to the regular grocery stores coz i ain't finna pay that lil extra just for the convenience. At least not yet 😂, i ain't got bread bread I'm still a stingy mf I'm going where the cheapest groceries are lol i think I'm only ever picky when it comes to shopping for stuff like meat.

I've been going to the Amazon Fresh store in Morton Grove(northern Chicago burb) for a few months now and I like it! I'm old school and I prefer to go to the checkout and interact with the employees and pay so that I get an immediate receipt. I went there yesterday and did the grab and go thing. It's flawed. I got 9 things. 9 things were wrung up, but not the right 9 things. Long story. But it involved chicken, pizza and cheese slices.😂 So... I think I'll go through the old school checkouts from now on to make sure it's all right before I walk out of the store😊 Side note... Has anyone seen the SNL skit about Amazon Go/Fresh? That was the real reason I wanted to try it.😂

How are they charged for the stuff? They have to be charged somehow

He scanned a QR code from the amazon app on his phone. If he has a credit card linked to his account, he is charged when he scans the QR code on his way out of the store. Cameras and scanners are everywhere in the store that detect items moved from shelf to cart.

This is really not awesome because it's more jobs lost! People don't understand that... Just here in the city in Nc where I live we have lost over 5,000 jobs just because of this self check out back in 2022! it's probably way more now I have not looked into the numbers in a long time!! They use to say it didn't reflect on job lose but there figuring out it does! Great video though! Super interesting place!

this is nothing new and also there is jobs loss but also new Jobs created because they still need to people to stock the shelves and clean up the store and also repair any machines that are down on site which would require an it guy for that so they are still hiring people to run the stores not just for checking out. then been trying to do this since 1986 and the Brand Kroger was the first one to have a self checkout machines in their store in Georgia. and they are still around and hiring people today for many different roles in their stores.

Job losses usually occur when technology improves in particular areas. Credit card readers did away with most Gas station pump attendants, home computers and office printers cut deeply into privately owned print businesses and digital news and media are pretty much killing physical newspapers and magazines. All with significant job losses. That's the price of progress.

Most jobs , including check out cashiers, are pointless wastes of life. Humans should spend their time doing more meaningful things. Eventually humans will have a standard basic income so that the economy can continue to function and humans will have to figure out meaningful ways to spend their life.

They won't let you in. I forgot to switch my debit cards before walking in and the gate didn't open. Now... There's a gate we're you don't have to scan in, but you must pay at the register. Keep in mind that there are cameras and scanners EVERYWHERE. So please don't "test their system".
