The reason you cant buy books in your kindle app on an iPad or an iPhone is because for every book you buy Amazon has to give a 30% cut to Apple. Since they don't want to do that they removed that option from their iOS apps. I guess its the same with android too. Other services like Netflix too do it this way in order to avoid paying Apple a share.

Apple does something I was shocked to see… they make all the classic public domain books completely free! While Kindle bundles them/makes the classics only available if you buy kindle unlimited or buy them outright for at least $5 a pop. I get why they do it but quite interesting seeing one company do one thing and the other doing the complete opposite.

4:21 i’ve heard people say that the reason you cannot buy books on the Amazon app, is, because if you are using the Amazon app on an Apple device, Amazon would have to pay a portion of the sales to Apple. If you were using a Kindle reader on a Kindle paper white, you can buy books for Amazon. They are just cutting out apples charges for purchases made on an apple device.while it makes sense, I don’t like it either.

Kindle used to have the store within the app years ago. They removed the store from the app in recent years.. silly decision on their part

I wish apple books and audiobooks had more of a borrow feature. You can borrow it for a month at a discounted price and then it autodeletes. So you dont jusr horde a bunch of books you Have read

Apple Books takes the win for me with the audio books being on the same app. Can you transfer from reading to audio with the same book? Say I’m reading because I’m at the doctors but want to listen when I get in the car.

Love the review! Does the Apple Books have Nook look feature? One of the things I likes about Nook is that screen didn't appear to look as if you were look at a digital image. It appeared as if you were looking on paper. Maybe the solution here is just to lower the brightness but I definitely miss this about Nook.

I feel like to cover all the bases in terms of comparison an obvious mention would be that Kindle books are obviously innately compatible with Kindle e-ink readers. Apple has no e-ink devices and I'm not even sure that the books you can buy on Apple can even be used on any e-ink devices.

i dont know if its apples fault, but i found a "free book" and in the end they just cutted one book into five and gave the first one for "free" which seemed to be even shorter than the extract vom kindle. if you bought the other 4 parts in the end you had to pay about 3 euros more for the whole book.

What you didnt discuss is which app is better if you have e-books downloaded already. Can you add that to any update that you do? thanks
