Thanks, I started them to be more concise for the audience but both time I’ve made one they’ve been in the bottom 10 for views. Audience doesn’t seem to like them.

I just made one out of a piece of a 55 gallon barrel for the outside and an old water heater for the inside. It works perfect with no smoke once it gets going, only a nice hot flame!

my issue with these is the large footprint it takes up inside my vehicle or on top of the roof rack and the mess it can potentially make.

Walmart started selling their own version under the ozark trail name, looks exactly the same, but it's only 100 bucks. Thinking about picking one up, I have the pop up firepit, but it is very much not smokeless. And I've also found firepits at campsites with unfired bullets in it.

what about warmth, with the fire mostly being surrounded by the fire pit, how well does it give out heat if you want to be by the fire to stay warm?

I’ve only used it in spring and summer but it actually seemed to be slightly warmer than just a fire pit. My guess is that 1. It heats up the bin putting off more heat or 2. Since there’s no smoke I found myself sitting closer to the fire. It could be that it’s the same temp though, or slightly less but either way it’s not a noticeable difference.

I’m gonna tell you no matter what, you need a heat shield to stay warm. For these stove firepits there is nooo way it will keep you warm by itself without assistance. The heat shield makes all the difference for these
