For 1499 I got a 5.1 set of monitor audio Silver 8. sure it’s used but it blows every sound bar out there out of the water. Not as convenient tho

@@corneblom4507 apples v oranges my dude. All-in-one SPATIAL audio is what AMBEO is adding, thx to Atmos support and virtualization. Nothing against standalone speakers-- they're great but the application here is probably different; soundbars are low profile to prevent obscuring the TV, have built-in options for a really wide variety of streaming and playback, and don't require a ton of cabling or a dedicated receiver to accept the spatial audio signal from your source.

No 2-channel stereo. No imaging. No enveloping sound stage. No tight, deep thumping bass. And instead of Dolby Atmos (object based audio), you'll have a substitute for virtual sounds. Hence, it's not what one would call premium.
