When lawyers already lose, they do something called "chubacca defense" or something in court. Not lying, look it up. It is real. Yes it is called that. For a reason. Basically, when they know they stand no chance, they reach around for words in hope they can mix it up, and confuse the defendant into admitting something that's completely irrelevant

Whats even more ironic is that bringing a psychologist into this is important. Because women when actually looked at by psychologists show that women are actually the problem creator and stressor in most domestic disputes. Like, "believe all women" is such a traumatic thing to most men becausew were helpless because society treats women as children that cant be aggressors. Listen to the audio, the dr might say she has this disorder or that disorder, BUT if you ask MEN if theyve ever dealt with that, watch and be shocked that every man has a few of these horror stories...Shit, crazy women today is why I dont sleep with them for a while, guess what, they get crazy without the D, they get crazy with it smh. Check out the studies psychologists have done over the last 2 decades about how womens psychs have changed drastically just from social media. Wild shit.

@@anthonyzullo What? 😅 There are literally statistics about how men are the main perpetrators in most domestic abuse cases and how so many reported cases are either dismissed or ignored so the woman never gets the help she needs. However, I don't want to dismiss your statement. So can you provide me any link or statistic proving that most women are the main aggressors in domestic disputes. Yes, woman can be aggressors, yes they can be abusers as you can clearly see in this case but that doesn't mean that every woman is just another Amber heard or that every man is another Johnny depp. There are men out here murdering women for getting rejected or not getting p*ssy from them but sure, women as a whole are the crazy ones when they don't get the D 😅

They were trying to get the psychologist to admit that she had committed a HIPAA violation, which would've destroyed her reliability as a witness and could've led to her license getting revoked. I think psychologists know well enough the seriousness of that violation, legally and ethically. So yeah, I personally don't think she broke client confidentiality. Also, what an oily defense strategy. Gross.

She was super condescending to Curry….”you don’t know what a signed pleading is?!” 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️ several times she was downright rude and disrespectful to the good doctor. I also think it’s dirty and slimy to ask expert witnesses if they would still be there to testify if they didn’t find for whichever side they’re there for. This is literally how expert witnesses work. You can pay 15 expert witnesses, and find 1 on your side. You’re obviously going to choose that 1 to testify on your behalf. AH team did the same thing with Dr Hughes….only i believe there was loads more bias in Dr Hughes’ expert testimony. Just super hypocritical.
@sallycinnamon5370

I don’t think that HIPAA would truly be a consideration because her association with Amber Heard was always going to be shared in court. I think they were more trying to make it seem like Currie was super excited about being involved in and desperate to continue to be involved in this case.
@cygnelle1232
@cygnelle1232 Жыл бұрын
@@sallycinnamon5370 I hear you. I meant more, like Lynn said above, the confidentiality between Curry and the court, under which I would imagine it's still an ethical violation to gab to anyone else about who you're evaluating. And if that's not grounds for a revocation of her license, then at the very least it could've damaged her reputation as a forensic psychologist. But I think you're right too, it was also a part of them trying to prove that Shannon was eager to work on this case, on Johnny's behalf.

@@cygnelle1232 From my perspective there is 0 expectation from the court or Amber as she entered this relationship that there was any expectation of privacy. Her involvement was always going to be public record. Maybe there could the argument that she shouldn’t be discussing her findings outside of court…but that isn’t the allegation. I can see why people get confused because the professional completing this exam also has a psychiatric practise…but this wasn’t a psychiatrist-client relationship. The ethical expectations are significantly different. The expectation was that every single thing that Dr Currie heard could have been repeated on the record and in open court. I don’t think that he husband knowing that she had been retained to assess Amber would hurt her reputation as a forensic expert in the slightest. There is never an expectation that experts need to keep their involvement confidential. Now if she had gone to the media between the assembly and the trial I think maybe could have damaged her…but does anyone truly believe that her husband was surprised to see her walk onto the stand at the JD-AH trial? There was definitely a point at which she would have naturally be expected to have disclosed to her husband that she was involved in this litigation. And frankly I don’t think it would have made a difference if she had disclosed immediately whether

Hello, I can see a lot of question regarding the Muffins and why was it even asked during the trials. I am a paralegal and the way I see it, the muffin could’ve been the turning point of Dr. Curry’s career had she answered it incorrectly. The defense team in favor of amber is trying to establish a presumption that Dr. Curry is violating client confidentiality because she had informed her husband about her evaluation/meeting with a celebrity client which is illegal and a big violation in professional practice and code of conduct among medical professionals. If she had fallen in to this trap she could’ve been easily removed from the hearing and not allowed to continue to testify in the case and potentially revoking her license. That was one silly and dirty tactic to discredit Dr. Curry. You can really see the desperation within Amber Heard’s team as they potentially see Dr. Curry’s testaments is crucial to this case. That’s why they tried so hard to do her dirty with that muffin question and why they need to establish his husband’s involvement in the case. Such a vain attempt.

Heard's attorney tried to discredit Dr Curry right from the start, trying to insinuate that Curry talked about the case with her husband and hence, broke patient confidence. Obviously, she didn't want Heard's psyche evaluation to be heard in court, and on live stream. I'm glad we all heard the assessment. Under the guise of a 'victim', Heard has used the #MeToo movement to her advantage. In that act alone, she has caused the movement to enable an abuser (herself) and victimized the true victim, Johnny Depp.

Her side has literally NOTHING to work with so they try to do that approach where you’ll ask one question multiple times in various ways in order to get a different answer in order to catch someone in a lie. But it just doesn’t work for them. It is the definition of insanity. In fact, they did that when they were questioning Johnny, and only had text messages and tabloids to go on. It’s embarrassing. I’m embarrassed for them. Also, the attorney was trying to imply that the only reason the forensic psychologist is there is because the results that came out were in favor of Depp and against Heard and had it been the other way around she wouldn’t have testified which is bs because she’s impartial and only there to uncover the unbiased truth. That is why she was hired. It would be unethical to approach this case any other way. Amber’s attorneys are not trying to weed out the unbiased, they’re bating and hunting for anything to turn their dying defense around. But it’s not working because the evidence is stacked against Heard.

Something about ambers whole side her team testimony everything does NOT sit well with me. As a fan of Johnny I tried to come into this with an open mind and thought if anything they were equals in the abuse. BUT.... Why would she hire such HORRIBLE unorganized and incompetent lawyers to defend her in what would seem to be one of the biggest and most important moments of her life, being this case is going to define what she is portrayed as when she seems to be care so much almost solely on her reputation. And also why would she not be just have such a bad defense but also her one witness was sus AF and her testimony is all over the place, you can't understand shit she's talking about half the time, and what you can understand seems to be so outrageous and such huge significant and serious accusations that you would think and expect her to have the best of the best. Hell even if she had to have help from rocketman to pay them. Now call it a conspiracy it whatever you will, but in my opinion. She knew she was fucked from the start, that she just decided she was gonna use it at a pr stunt and go out with a bang, making it as crazy as she could not bothering to want to pay for good defense because even with the best she knew it was a lost cause. Like literally seems to be making it up as she goes. OR and this is more fantasy than anything maybe she felt bad to where she decided to lose on purpose? Idk. But something has been just itching at me in a bad way about her whole side and every move they have made. Like this is huge. And she doesn't seem to be taking it seriously to make sure she can lock in that win. She only had to prove there was any indication of any form of abuse and she would have had it. Okay and this one just came to me... I wonder if they were banking on getting the case thrown out to where they literally had ZERO preparation...like her defense was so confident on it? Idfk. It's just weeeiiiirrrdddd

@@wtfrenchtoast4896 Amber didn't think it was a lost cause or she would lose. Her outrageous behavior and stories are a result of her personality disorder. Her lawyers had nothing to work with so their strategy was to attack Depp and his witnesses' credibility. Heard lying to her lawyers didn't help her. Elaine took Amber's word that Dr. Curry told Amber her husband bought the Muffins for her, therefore she must have told him she was hired by Depp and would be meeting with Amber. In fact, all he knew was she would be meeting with someone and his wife didn't have time to get the muffins she likes herself. It's grasping at straws, like Elaine stating that Dr. Curry knew Depp then asking if she thought he was a good actor, trying to imply that they personally knew each other, as well as portraying her interview with Depp's lawyers as her partying with Depp. I suspect Amber was telling her legal team how she wanted them to form their strategy and personally chose her witnesses based on her perception of what would be good, regardless of what her legal team thought. She wasn't looking to hire the best expert witnesses, just ones that would say everything she wanted them to say... that she suffers ptsd and Intimate Partner Violence, even if they are not knowledgeable or competent. There probably weren't that many to choose from willing to do that for her. Maybe her personal therapist was the only one willing, either bc he believes the stories she tells him or bc he wants to continue getting paid for therapy in addition to his court testimony. I'm sure her legal team was frustrated with her changing her story and misrepresenting info to her lawyers. She paid alot of money for her defense but they lacked good evidence to support her claims and there were too many holes in her story and inconsistency with her emotional state. Amber's personality disorder is why she made crazy claims. She knows she will look bad for throwing bottles at him and cutting his finger off so she doesn't only deny it, she concocts a story where she suffered something much worse and terrible. Thats a result of her personality disorder where she believes she is always the victim being wronged so inverts reality and wants others to sympathize with her and feels the need to "one up" the person she perceives as attacking her or threatening her reputation or credibility. In her mind simply denying she did it wasn't enough. She had to sell a version of events where Depp did something to her even more horrible then cutting someones finger off in rage. It's her being vindictive and it's justified in her mind. If Depp says something that makes her look bad, she feels the need to say he did something even worse to her. She is too selfish and lacking in self awareness to understand how she appears to others and surrounds herself with "yes men" or "yes women" like her sister to the point she thinks calling Depp's witnesses "randos" is a funny punchline others will laugh at. She is so narcissistic and full of herself she thinks her fake crocodile tears will convince the jury and was probably sure once she testified Depp would lose. She gives terrible and unbelievable explanations when caught in a lie bc she thinks the jury is stupid. She really thought she could continue to pretend to not know the difference between pledging and donating and not look deceptive. People like her like to redefine words and play semantic word games to avoid being caught in a lie. She did this in her deposition when they played a tape of her admitting to hitting Depp. She says when she said hit in that recording she was referring to pushing him to prevent him from getting through the doorway she was blocking and that Depp uses words like "hit" and "cold cock" to describe a push bc he is just dramatic like that. She even denies kicking the bathroom door into his head after audio recording is played where she admits to it and says "I defended myself in that audio and you can hear it for yourself". She admits to hitting him in the audio but claims she didn't when questioned about it. She wants you to believe that how she describes blocking a doorway and other people are dumb enough to buy it. Her own testimony sank her, not her lawyers.

This woman Dr. Curry is WAAAAAAAYYYYY more competent than 99% of psychologists when it comes to Cluster B personality disordered individuals. She diagnosed Amber Heard as co-morbid with BPD and HPD, both Cluster B Personality Disorders, and they explain Ms. Heard's behavior perfectly. I was guessing she was a Narcissistic Personality Disorder, but I'll go with the doc's diagnosis 100%. Note that the Cluster B Disorders are like peas in a pod, very close to each other. A lot of their behaviors and strategies are in common, but their underlying motivation for engaging in the behavior can be a little different. For example, BPDs greatest fear is abandonment by their close people. NPDs greatest need is to appear to the world to be "without flaw", and they hate having any imperfection exposed, even small ones.

the big difference of license for 10 years and practicing for 15 is that there is no board exams yet before for pychologists, then they added it later for the license for clinical psychologist. If you're an old practicing psychologist you are then required to take a board exam to have license as a clinical psychologist to be able to give and present psychology tests and results, the tests are based on the book(DSM) so they don't really do bias no matter how lawyers force it to, psychology just present the results of the test, it's on the paper. For more precise example on the test, the clinical psychology will ask this question and the patient will answer, the psychologist will take note of the answer and the tone it is answered and the gestures when it was answered, etc. Then base it from DSM to identify what type of mental disorder patient have

As far as I understand it Amber Heard claims that she has developed PTSD from what happened. Thus the other side was allowed to hire an expert to examine her for. While the other side will of course argue bias one should stress that experts in this field would risk a lot by giving strongly biased report (a certain bias can never be excluded). It will be interesting to see when the other side presents whether they present their own expert or someone who took a look at her fiendings and methods and might comment on the conclusions she came to.
