My only concern looking into the future with this deck is dealing with Prince John’s Mirror in Emerald decks, the deck may need that 4th copy of The Bare Necessities to ensure that it can be taken out to make sure A Whole New World can be beneficial, being forced to only have 3 or less cards in hand is a pain for any player tbh…

another option for worlds greatest criminal mind is the Queen commanding presence, but the enemy has to have more than one character in play. You simply reduce the attack of the want that doesnt bother you, and buff the one you want to out. And then worlds greatest criminal mind it with cinderella. Its a pretty intense tech card, but it works!!

I like using rapunzel to heal 2 damage off smee. A one of ping Robin Hood is interesting too .Also been playing with Hades to recover shift characters, Benja for item removal or Ariel for song search.

I like running 1 x Beast and dropping 1 x Rapunzel, purely because I’m happy for them to ping it for damage and use it to smash into locations/big threats, if not I’ll take the card draw and lore, has come in clutch a few times. Agree on the big Cindy smashing into ready characters also, that’s such a clutch move late game

I liked everything about your deck list but for some reason i've never been sold on the robin hood in any steel deck.....lots of decks that i play have removal to the point where i wouldnt get a chance to even challenge before he is taken off the board idk in this instance i still prefer the beast and even the tinker bell....too bad they wont give us a small beast that costs 1 or 2 ink lol great deck though man love your content!

I play steel song to and have found alot of success in running greatest criminal mind as a quick out to things I don't want to use zeus on ie tamatoa and chernabog. Steel song is my favourite deck right now

You should play what you know and based on your meta. You can opt to cut a Rapunzel for a Criminal.

What is your strategy against ruby amethyst? My problem is that lady Tremaine, mother Mim, and then be prepared. It’s just killing me always.

Healing Robin Hood on 4 is good for the card draw, but he often gets outted by a Madame Medusa on 5. Still feels better than beast for the draw because Beast often gets taken out in the same way before I even get a card out of him. I’ve debated adding in World’s Greatest Criminal Mind to this in order to offset the R/S matchup. Or even add Captain Piglets to make it slant more Aggro in the bad R/S matchup

Keep in mind that Medusa is usually a 2 of, it’s really bad in some match up but over performs in others. Tremaine on the other hand is always applicable. There is definitely room for Criminal Mind, you just have to find the room lol. It’s a good card to play because it’s inkable in every other match up but good into Ruby.

@@QuantumMercury True but you can have an extra character out to keep Tremaine away from Robin Hood. Medusa just straight kills him. I’ve seen more R/S decks playing each as a 2 of. I’m still not sure of the best ratio

So I played your list in a store champ yesterday. Did top 8 but get destroyed by emerald Steele. I don't know if that was the deck or just my opponent had goodly hands

I never had a problem beating Emerald / Steel with this deck. I took down 2 E/ST decks (1 in Swiss, 1 in Top 4) for my first Stitch. In another event, I took down 2 E/ST decks in Swiss, and beat a Steelsong Pridelands build in the Top 8 for my 2nd Stitch.

I've been loving this deck but my big problem is I dont have any copies of rapunzel. Are there any cards that come to mind for replacements? I know she cant be directly replaced but I've been running extra copies of grab your sword, and other songs to fill that gap. It does well enough bit without rapunzel my hands die fast without AWNW in hand as well

In all honesty you can run the same list and swap the flutes/pride lands. The smee, robin hood, Rapunzel and benja are the main synergies with pride lands. You can adjust the numbers of the song cards to your meta. 😊

Do you have any tips on playing flutes against red/purple?

Flutes have a great match-up in RP because they can't answer them. You can either go aggro at the start and aim to close the game with Flutes to play around their late game removal or play a midrange tempo game and trade your AWNWs into Be Prepared and rebuild your board to continue questing. You have much more of a tempo advantage in that match because you can sing AWNW and RP has to hardcast Be Prep usually. Check my latest Sapphire Steel video where I play against RP and they Be Prep me 4 times, they can't gain any tempo because they're spending their turns clearing my board over and over.

Try to aggro, you need to put pressure on board and get ahead before they get cogsworth on board. Yry to bare necessity their worlds/fishbone quill or use benja to get rid of it

Criminal Mind is definitely a good card and can make the list for sure. It’s not slow, but it has limited application.

This is probably going to be a local meta call, I think it can definitely be a good addition, it really helps take out big cinderellas in the mirror match, tamatoa and bigger ruby targets. You can also cast it directly from hand even if there is no target on field, to get lore from flutes.

@@XtremeAsFanaticthe deck is meant to use flutes. The more cards you add that means less chance of drawing them. The key is aggro to get far ahead of r/s, by the time you drop that beast the opponent is going to wmbe way ahead already it wouldn't make much difference

I never play a Flute when I can play a character. I usually don't play a flute until I have board control. If I expect a Be Prepared, I hold characters and start laying Flutes for post-board wipe lore gain

I wouldn’t play Steel without them. Every Steel deck uses them now, even Sapphire Steel.

If you watch the gameplay video with this one I think I try to give out some tips. Basically you need to aggro in the beginning and close with Flutes.
