You can just hear the passion in her voice. So nice to see people acting on their highest joy and passion.

I find it fascinating that in many cases, we’re looking at light that left it’s source before the Earth even existed. I understand it, but it still blows me away. I hear a lot of people talk about how little NASA has done since the Apollo program and it simply isn’t true. We know more than ever about the universe and it’s a great time to be alive. Wonderful presentation with really a great question and answer period. I wish I was healthier and more intelligent, but I appreciate that we have so many bright and dedicated people that share what they can do with me. Thank you.

Not since the first video release of ABBA’s latest album have I seen such glowing and unanimous enthusiasm for a speaker (or singer) and the subject matter. Amber Straughn for President!! Lol. Seriously fantastic presentation. Thanks so much for bringing the magic of Webb to the masses. I am sure that it was this kind of gushing about the manufacture of Hubble is why it has always held our imaginations’ attention. Learning about how Hubble’s mirrors were being polished night and day for weeks in Rochester NY is something I’ll always remember. Photos of Webb’s MASSIVE foil box in the sound testing hangar and Amber’s exuberance had the exact same stunning effect. So excited!!

Fantastic rich Info on human knowledge ! Fantastic presentation of what’s going on on the boundaries of our knowledge and what is to come! For the people on the edge of end of life; like me at the age of 80, she gave us a chance to share the future with our grandchildren of our grand children. Fantastic inspiration to push my personal ideas of the evolution of human society and its organization into the next few centuries! Fantastic lecturer and story teller!

I have learned Much from many of the Commentators but this Lady is truly one of the Best!! Without a Doubt.

How exciting to be able to work on something like that. I'm sure it's stressful but the rewards certainly seem worth. We're learning more about our universe than ever before and pushing technological boundaries. I'm hoping for a successful launch and deployment.

I don't think we fully appreciate the fact that we will know whether or not we are alone in the Universe by 2020. Humanity's most ancient question answered by this incredible piece of engineering.

She is well informed and one can feel her passion for the project. Good luck to the JWST. Everything has to work perfectly. A thousand things could go wrong and there is no way to repair it. Hopefully it will be as successful as Hubble. Can't wait for the first pictures.

My God! The topic is not so easy. The whole structure was built piece by piece and it took billions of years to erect. Nor is the answer to the big questions like: is the universe finite? Is there one universe or are there multiverses? What is dark matter? Or dark energy? To sum things up: never give up. I wish the whole world could participate in such a grandiose project. Well done Dr. Straughn. I worked at JPL as an optical engineer on Hubble's WF/P Camera, Cassini and others. Some good people and exciting projects.

Love amber. Dunno how I missed this. She is one of the most engaging speakers I've ever seen. She didn't say anything I didn't know but this is a few years old and I stay current. I would love to be like her.

August 8th 2021: There are superlatives beyond my grasp to describe the courageous Dr. Amber Straughn and Nasa's JWST Team that are collaborating to create this entity to discover 'The Wider Reality'. I have tempered my expectations on the launch date which is the least a JWST fan can do and I have set ambitious personal goals to coincide with the launch date!! Thank you for your inspiration. Great lecture. When I did my astrophysics degree, we didn't even know how old the universe was (it was "somewhere between 10 and 20 billion years old"), and the year I started, we found the first exoplanet. That made me want to specialise in exoplanets following my degree. But unfortunately I never got that far. I finished my degree and left astrophysics behind. With so many discoveries of exoplanets now, I wish I'd have stuck with it! It still amazes me that we have (or will very soon have) the technology to be able to determine the chemical composition of a planet passing a star tens or hundreds of light years away. Mind blowing stuff.

We need to get the documentary producers for the big tv stations to get her up into the public eye on a larger scale The Brian Cox and dr Grasses we already have it's time for someone like this lady also. Wouldn't that be great ...!

This was an amazing presentation by Dr. Amber Straughn. I speculate that someday during the JWST mission it might become serviceable. The increasing sophistication of autonomous robotic spacecraft devices and vehicles as well as the increasing capability of heavy launch vehicles might make it feasible to send vehicles and even astronauts to the lagrange point.

I really loved the passion, intellect and enthusiasm with which the telescope was presented by Dr. Straughn. It gives me hope for NASA and our Society in general. The Q and A session answered some very interesting questions, especially about dark energy (which no one understands) but makes me wonder why it cannot used in combination in trying to figure out dark matter, the scaffolding of galaxies? One other question I would have been interested in (as an Atheist lol) is whether or not Dr. Straughn sees a created Universe and how that relates to the possibility of a Multiverse. Btw, I've seen many beautiful images of Mars, but has anyone ever recorded sounds on Mars? I guess I'll have to Google that next. As a final thought, I wish there would be one hour a month where all the lights in a city are turned off, so we all can get closer and in touch with the Universe and our Milky Way Galaxy for it is where we come from....we are Stardust.

As we have seen a successful launch, positioning, alignment and setup. The first real images will be coming out any day now. The wait has been excruciating, with more anticipation than molasses in January. Now we are really ready. Yahoo! And congrats.

Congratulations to the James Webb engineers on their practical success, and even more so to the modern physicist theorists who emphasize the "M" theory. I thank Canada for holding such congresses.

An amazing project. I'm sure there are 6 dozen problems faced in this design that I'd have said "It's too hard", but fortunately they were bolder than me.

So excited about the James Webb telescope. Praying its panels open and the optics are OK, also that the people calculating the trajectory to put it into orbit used the correct units :).

Amazing lecture. The only gripe: Why don't they have the slide projected on the screen (throughout) all the time and put the speaker as a tiny box something they did around 6:40. For example I would have loved to see the slide she was discussing around 19:40 in a much greater detail.

Truly amazing...And what is possibly more amazing is that 5 absolute idiots gave this a thumbs down!

can't wait to see what new data JWST will reveal about the universe!

it's interesting to see Amber Straughn putting aside (for a moment) her persona of psychotic wokeness and not trying to harass and bully her colleagues at NASA.

In my boring life one thing that makes me get up everyday are things like James Web Telescope, that its coming and it'll show us further then what Hubble could see... James Webb Telescope will catapult a new age of Space Age Science.

Reason why people are captivated by Hubble images is its feels so tantalizing that at last we are on the threshold of knowing who we are and where we came from.
