Wow, I haven't watched your channel in a minute. I initially thought this was just going to be a review of your experience buying the bag, which would have been great on its own! I'm pleasantly surprised by the turn it took however, and hearing you speak of all that you dreamed you could accomplish and did. I'm in a pretty rough spot currently, my bank account constantly in the negatives and struggling to find any sort of direction in terms of a career or purpose and oftentimes it's hard to remember that I will be okay. Seeing that only five years ago you were in the same place is really reassuring. It helped me to remember that if I can dream it I'm more than capable of making it happen. I'm not after anyone for liking or wanting these bags or even owning one, I'm truly not. It's an attractive bag. Fashion is an outlet for creativity and expression and I appreciate that. But I am after society, I find it absolutely silly that humanity has decided a purse has so much societal value, costs this much, changes your social status and to a degree your percieved worth as a person to society itself, a symbol of your status and worth. How it pushes some people to the brink of what they would do to own one, leaves others in the pits of depression when they don't and is glamorized to the DEGREE that it is. We actually collectivly let a folded piece of leather cost more than than the average american income. And frankly it's not built with any higher quality materials than some lower cost brands. Nor does it do anything more special than any other purse, other than signal your status to everyone who sees it. Your not buying value your buying status and I think it paints a sad picture of the human pride, desire and shallow materialism.

Having to use 3 different credit cards to purchase the Birkin does not mean it was a smart purchase. Saving up the money to purchase such a luxury item is probably the better route. I’m not trying to be mean..but just buying a new home with plans to renovate should be celebration enough.
