Hey AA, so ALICE (all-purpose lightweight individual carrying equipment) was used by the U.S Military from about the 1970s up until about the 2000s. It was followed up by MOLLE (modular lightweight load-carrying equipment). Although the ALICE family of packs and vests were effective they were highly uncomfortable when under heavy loads, the transition to MOLLE was to usher in an era of being able to wear less while carrying equal or more without feeling total burn out. Well from experience I can say that 75LBS on your back feels like 75LBS on your back no matter what system you use. ALICE was time tested but dug into the skin. MOLLE allows users to customize how they carry to provide an individual level of comfort. Hope that clears some PZ Mod Lore up and such!

Bushmaster is a brand of ar15. It was started by a a guy whom came back from Vietnam and I would assume thats were the idea of the name was born but the brand was originally well known for quality. A.l.i.c.e. stood for all purpose light weight individual carrying equipment, it was just a way to clip a bunch of crap together in a uniform way.

It's more immersive than people might realize. This is America, and a small country town as well. Rednecks. Rednecks have guns. They have assault rifles, and shit the average person shouldn't have. I've known everyday citizens, civilians who were never in the military who have an arsenal of military weapons. Not just one person, but several people lol. I like to have a variety of weapons to choose from as well. I might prefer Ruger over Glock, even if the specs are the same in-game, it's a matter of preference. Keep the dream alive!

Hey Amphy, great to see you messing around on zomboid again. Ive always enjoyed indie titles, but your channel really got me to explore a lot more of those. If you enjoy roguelikes and base builders, I really reccommend KeeperRL on steam, it combines that kind of RTS construction style with a roguelike interface, definitely a lot of zany fun and I would be overjoyed to see a video of you feeling out a game that Ive had a few periods of intense addiction to myself. Either way, thanks for reminding me of the intrinsic value of these games, when I think of your vids it always makes gaming a more introspective experience.

if you want a mod that allows you to literally carry everything on you as if you were wearing a black hole, look up extrasauce bagmerge... it allows you to merge two backpacks together (taking a portion of the original backpacks capacity, weight dissipation and encumbrance) and then you can 'repair' the backpacks until their encumbrance is zero, allowing you to make an 'infinite' backpack. its a bit cheesy, but also tedious enough that its not something you'll abuse.

It was basically the first version of those portable DVD players but the size of a desktop with a game boy sized screen. Would be interesting to have indie stone to add one to zomboid for living on the move

Speaking of the preban Bushmaster AR-15 variant. That thing was sexy in the early 90s with pre-picatinny tactical load out. Carry handle ARs just have a certain something to them.

You should check out oxygen not included if you haven’t played it already. It has its own fairly unique take on the colony sim genre.

On the subject of being "addicted to gaming," I know exactly what you mean. I probably have ADHD, and I will hyperfocus on one game in particular and just run it into the ground. It has not been uncommon for me to play a single game for 8 hours at a stretch on my days off, but when I am engaged like that is when I feel my best. The rest of life is so mundane by comparison.

This might be kind of a nitpicky comment, because I do enjoy your content, but when you mentioned having to kill all of the zombies at the military checkpoint barrier going into Louisiville and how it's immersion breaking, I have to encourage it to be seen as the opposite. It's a goal in that moment, to get through that barricade, and there are several ways you can go about doing it, distracting the zombs, having a standoff with them, etc. Goals like that excite me in a game where there inherently aren't any other than just survival. Stuff like that is especially fun on an RP server with others, quick thinking and team work to get the job done in a stressful environment is awesome. Sometimes killing/luring a ton of zombs just to find more back at that spot you lured them from sucks though, and I can see how that perspective as a content creator about it being kind of a time suck is true. Anyways, I hope you're able to find ways to stay immersed, it can be a struggle.

I have found that it's not so much the specific subject being presented as it is the delivery of the presenter, that is to say, you might tune in because the subject is of interest but keep coming back because you enjoy listening to the person.

I really loved the Kenshi Format - Perfect mix of editing and gameplay. As for me, the new main channel content is a bit too much, or rather, its only "scripted comedy / poem-like" talking and the VODs can get a bit long or boring. In Kenshi it was perfect, it had some poem-comedy but still showing every important bit of gameplay. So, as everyone else, I wish for another kenshi series, and if you're able to, I would love that old format, even if its only for that one new series of Kenshi. For your early fans

I learned with the 3 car magazines to work on each car type, and the first three books on mechanics, AND the three car VHS tapes (probably more exist but the three clearly labeled that form a series similar to life and living are all Im aware of) you can turn a character with no car skills into like at least a level 4 even with SLOW LEARNER its reallllllly nice assuming all the stars align

Hey ambi whats the best mode for a beginner? I seem to not be able to learn the game. I ussualy stay in the house for the few days watch the tv and read books but when it comes to combat, surival, building just everything i cant get better been playing the game for like 2 month but still cant survive longer than a week any tips and mode?

For me, as someone who really hasn't been able to stomach being restricted only to keyboard and mouse controls for quite a few years, PZ is one of those games that i've found to be more fun to watch, than play myself. my gaming setup isn't conducive to playing with keyboard and mouse, so unless i can use a controller, or just a mouse, i tend to have great difficulty playing. That said; one CAN play PZ with a controller, however, it's not really a great experience, and becomes quite frustrating after not too long.

I keep watching your videos and playing this bad game. Really, it's 2023. Dead Rising is like this but with superior graphics. Why is anyone dealing with "The Sims 2003+ Zombies" with broken code, glitches, needs outside support, not finished in 2023 ten years after release. I digress , I also consider myself a "zombie apocolypse survival" enthusiast and this game pisses me off, cause it keeps killing me and is messing with my ego. LOL It's all glitch deaths though. The jump scares with the noise. That wouldn't happen IRL zombie apocolypse. Just spam in random jump scares. Cause game. The 6 Months later mode is dumb. WHERE WERE YOU FOR 6 MONTHS to just appear in the zombie apocolypse? The character should be like expert everything to start. Again, not very realistic. If you survived those hordes for 6 months, you're a champ. Nuff said. Then I begin to ponder what I would do and remember "World War Z" and I'm into mechanics and machinery and think it's dumb what he wrote. Why not just industrialize the whole thing? Why risk human life? They have machines right now that can chew whole cars into shreds and it runs all day, 5 days a week for 8 hours a day. It would be so easy to build walled runs for the zombies and just lure them into car crushers and whatever. Why have some big army? You need the engineer core and some volunteers to lure them. Also, the raiders, like IRL would there be? The world is undead vs the living, I think humans would find a common ground and band together. I'd hope anyways. Thanks for reading my blog.
