I really like this version of Lestat. His confidence and charisma feels like Lestat

As a longtime fan of the novels. This adaptation exceeded all my expectations. Highlights are the brilliant writing (creating something new but honoring the spirit and backbone of the novels). The acting is superb. Jacob Anderson as Louis is delivering a powerhouse performance. Sam Reid as Lestat is perfection.

Tom did great for what he could do but Sam’s Lestat is so much more fleshed out and more versatile. I can see him being a mortal with Nicki, being a momma’s boy, becoming a rockstar I think he will be amazing at all of it and I want to see it all!

Sam is masterful. He's going to reintroduce everyone to Lestat properly.

I am captivated by Sam Reid as Lestat. Obsessed with him. In love with him…. I sure hope the show maintains the current level of raw excellence.

Lestat's powers began to develop to it's full potential. After partaking of Akasha's blood back in the 18th century in France. Although it's still not known if he'll acquire the fire ignition ability or solar immunity. It's still a mystery

This is literally like a mix of the books which I prefer over the movies and a modern version of the movies

I truly love Sam Reid as LeStat. What convinced me of his brilliance was the scene with the Tenor and how he made Louis feel. I would have felt the same way if LeStat would have put me in the situation. I’m talking about the full range of emotions Louis was feeling. Quite intense!

I hope they put this on dvd, because I need something new to watch. Thank you for taking the time to make this video & for making the effort to keep us all up to date

Low expectations? This show is best show I've seen in recent memory. I had high expectations and this show delivered in spades.

Lestat is not “freezing time”, they are moving hiperfast. Louis does that in the book, when he lights Malloys cigarette.

I have never been a "hardcore" Anne Rice fan.... I'm in love with the characters, the lore (and the intricacies thereof), as well as the complexities of almost every aspect of this world she's built! My ONLY issue (and it's not even really an "issue" per se), is that I'm not the biggest fan of her writing style. There's NOTHING wrong with it, and I have IMMENSE respect for her work. I read the first 3 novels in highschool, but I just haven't been the biggest book reader since reaching adulthood (it's really a ME issue). However, my Mom (who has been a HUGE Anne Rice fan since the 80s, and has read literally every novel she's ever written), LOVES the AMC adaptation of the show! I watched the first few episodes before her, asked her if she had heard about/ seen it... She said no... I gave her my AMC login, and we texted back and forth about it (we live over 1000 miles away from each other) for weeks and weeks! I asked her how she felt about the changes, and she had absolutely no issue with it. She said (and I'm obviously paraphrasing to a degree) that she loved it, and that none of the changes actually bothered her, because "they make the story more inclusive and relatable to a more modern audience, and don't actually contradict the story or pose a detriment to the lore as a whole." (That's pretty much what's weeks and weeks of talking back and forth boiled down to.... And she's really excited for the second season!!!!)

LOVING the new adaptation so far. Hoping it stays good. Absolutely LOVE your channel. Anne Rice is my fav. I also hope you can one day do the vampires from the manga Hellsing and/or the vamps & lore from my fav vampire video game Castlevania. Thanks and keep up the awesome uploads!

I like every screen adaptation of Lestat I've seen. Each actor that's portrayed the character has brought something different to the table, and I appreciate that. I would be so bored, if I had to watch the same story play out, line for line, scene for scene, with a new cast. 🥱 I approached this series with no expectations, so I've enjoyed most of the changes to the characters and plot. I hope this series leads to spinoff shows for other Vampire Chronicles stories. With the alterations made to the characters Lestat and Louie, I'm interested in seeing how AMC would portray characters, like Armand, Marius, and Akasha. 🧛🏻‍♂️🧛🏼‍♀️ Great explanation of Lestat and his new abilities! 👍🏾 If you haven't covered it yet, 30 Days of Night would be a nice franchise to discuss.

I love this show it's modern and touches on serious issues and it's fun and sexy.

I love how Sam Reid made Lestat, he knew how to give him the different nuances of Lestat's personality, and his physiognomy is quite similar to Lestat as he is described in the book, as if he had As if Anne Rice had chosen him directly, which didn't happen with the other Lestats

Lestat in this is so powerfull and confidence.

I think by the time we meet Lestat in the modern day he may have gotten powerful enough to become a daywalker because Armand reveals that their kind loses their vulnerability to sunlight as they grow older.

Sam is actually more true to the character of Lestat than all the other portrayals of him even though they diverged slightly from the books

I hope we c both of them fly as fast as in Queen of the Damned soon. We've already saw them float by Lestat in the 1st ep.

I did not get the chance to see the tv series yet (it has not been announced yet in France 🇫🇷, but I hope it will be soon 🤞), but from what I saw (teasers / trailers...), it seems absolutely amazing. Shout-out to Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson who are absolutely dazzling ! As much as I loved the movie from 1994, I have to say Sam Reid really mastered Lestat, and so did Jacob Anderson with Louis. Before seeing the 1st teasers/trailers I was skeptical about the changes, but after seeing the 1st teasers/trailers, well I was bewitched 😍. Both actors have such chemistry, they nailed it ❤ My favorite vampire franchises are : 1) "The Vampires Chronicles" novels by Anne Rice 2) "Anita Blake" novels by Laurell K. Hamilton 3) "Sookie Stackhouse" novels by Charlaine Harris 4) "Night Huntress" novels by Jeaniene Frost 5) "Blood / Victoria Nelson" novels by Tanya Huff There are other novels I liked but a top 5 was relevant 😉.

Yeah I'm loving this show, I haven't read any of the books I've only seen the movies before this so I wasn't bothered by the changes at all and I'm just the show on its own merits and yeah this show kicks ass and Sam Reid is great as Lestat in my opinion he's just as great or even better than Tom Cruise was as Lestat and I'm saying this with having only seen 4 episodes of the show so far

I really think you have to take the purist and elitist mentality of the first movie and the book out of your mindset(which most can't do) to actually see that you can take a piece of art and turn it into something else. Picasso did say that art was never original. This is original. As someone who didn't care for vampire lore or ever attempted to fall into it, I love the show. Yes, I do hate that the ones who are so stuck on the movie and book are just not giving it a chance bc of that, but they said they wanted to surprise not only the new fans, but old ones. You can't do that if you keep making the same thing. This isn't a remake, it's an adaption of the novel and movie in a different light. A modern one. I think it's amazing. I mean, I read Batman comics all the time. If I complained about every Batman and didn't just give it a try, it would be boring. And everyone has the right not to watch it. Just please don't be on some racial undertone shit about Louis. I'm black, so I don't give a fuck. But Jacob makes you see why the interview changed and why he gave Daniel a second chance. He's amazing himself too.

My favorite vampires are written by Patricia Briggs. After Anne Rice of course. Charlene Harris did ok in the Sookie Stackhouse books but the show Trueblood sucked. Just my thoughts

There are some things you’ve mentioned in this video I love the Tom Cruise version better cause the rock star Lestat I’m not too crazy about and despite how Sam Reid Lestat is so hot but he proved to be a loser cause of his involvement with Antoinette the one character who doesn’t deserve to be existed in the last episode I’m glad she got burned alive by Louis and Claudia it gave me some pieces of mind. And if you make another video please don’t make one of Antoinette she doesn’t deserve it

Anne Rice wrote Lestat as handsome. Not the average looking guy. This is not my Lestat. Sadly I don't see the same level of reasonable lovers of the lore like with Tolkien Lovers and Rings of PRIME... Exited for another product. The consumer approach I guess....
