That's ass they still don't fix not working performance overlay and performance overlay enabling loop, there were substantial amounts topics about that both on Reddit and and AMD community we also send bug reports 2 months and still no fix :(

my Helldivers 2 went from 70FPS to 81FPS after this patch on my RX 6600 with the custom settings I use. Very good update

I got the 6600xt msi upgrading from the rx 470 4 gb. In helldivers on the new card its a mix of high and mid and a solid 60 fps

In typical fashion AMD release new drivers within 2 days of me reinstalling the previous driver 😂🤦‍♂️ I completely agree with you Fabio, AMD should not focus so much on Radeon Boost and should rather focus on upscaling and FG. You said it perfectly 👏

They need to work on Radeon boost, because it can really help/compliment AFMF, if they cannot find a way for afmf not to turn off, then adjusting Radeon boost sensitivity to reduce/ slow down the reduction of FPS in fast movements will be beneficial.

@@v2plus10_ I tried it in cyberpunk. Radeon boost set to 50% playing at 1440p, in fast camera motion everything is a blur anyways, so I didn't really notice the image quality lost that much. The only issue I have is that it doesn't produce enough FPS, which kind of doesn't help afmf very much. I still use it because at least it helps afmf from totally disabling itself. For example, cyberpunk 1440p ultra ray tracing, xess quality+ afmf+ RB, 120, the lowest it will drop to is around 80 with reasonable fast camera motion in normal enemy interactions. Without Radeon boost it will reset all the way to around 60.

Just an FYI in case of future testing. To replay the exact same map in Helldivers 2, just ALT+F4 the game when done testing in the map. When you restart the game, you'll be able to replay the exact same map. DO NOT quit the game from the menu or return to the ship from the menu :)

I'm still on 23.11.1 as it's been rock solid stable, I think I'll try this driver this weekend and pray everything still works. Always a roll of the dice with AMD driver updates imo

Yeah, you're playing Russian roulette with these driver updates. You might win some, but when you lose... It's game over. That's also why I never buy a Radeon card again.... I'm Radeoff. ;) Going back to GeForce was the best decision I've made in a long time. No, nVidia still doesn't make perfect software, nobody has ever done that. They just have it better than AMD.

@@porkkanaraaste6692That's what the vast majority of AMD customers are saying, myself included. I've been using their stuff for 3 years and of course I say: never again AMD!! No wonder their hardware is significantly cheaper than that of their biggest (far superior) competitors and still make a decent profit because they obviously save on qualified employees, which is particularly evident in their pathetic, buggy video drivers (they fix stuff, they break other stuff) Oh and of course they have a tendency to ignore their customers' wishes. And I repeat, I own AMD components and know only too well what I'm talking about. Next time only Nvidia and Intel. I predict "Team Red" will be completely irrelevant in a few years IF they don't drastically change their attitude.

I've had the "not being able to open AMD software" on my 7900XT intermittently for the year I've had it. Having to fix it with a restart is stupid but what can ya do. Going to try the new drivers now and I'll either post another comment or edit this one if I have any big issues. Good thing they gave you a few extra days for the driver so we can get these videos right when the drivers come out. Nice seeing the channel grow and it'll only continue to get better!

That not being to open software stuff usually happens when Windows tries to automatically install another driver on your PC randomly. Deleting old drivers and installing new ones fixes it.

i had a similar thing happen on both of my pc it's something to do with windows uninstalling the drivers you have to disable something I can't remember what but its in device manager, but it literally stops the NVidia control panel/ amd software from working.

Sounds like you had Windows Update do a double install of your graphics driver. You need to remove all display drivers, block windows update from download your gpu display driver and then reinstall your display driver from your card manufacturer.

Drivers are good for my 7900 since the 24.1 at least. What i hope is more about FSR 3.1 and more games using FSR 3 frame gen. For now Uniscaler mod is doing the trick

i also always have that issue with certain games where the sidebar wont open, regardless of restarting it or not with my 7900XT. I love that you test with the same hardware as I have 7700x & 7900XT!

We don’t care about Helldivers, bring improvements overall AMD, think bigger than that. In time, lately the driver updates are just “game-fix” only, it appears AMD is fixing the game’s dev messing, we like to see AMD PRODUCT improvents.

The time has come to made a clean driver install. Ethernet plugged off-ddu-known oc settings and 6950xt runs like new. Thx for the review. Btw I cant seem to save my OC profile on these drivers. Not a big deal since I have them saved in my brain but might be quite frustrating when testing stuff.

Just tried Helldivers on 7900XT and there is a good FPS boost. Hopefully the previous random crashes are fixed too. In the previous drivers the Adrenalin performance metrics did not toggle on in Helldivers. Going to try if it works with this. Thanks Fabio!

Great video Fabio!! As far as I can tell with Helldivers, I think their Anti-cheat did some things recently affecting the AMD drivers. For instance, I've been on 24.3.1 for quite some time, and a couple of weeks ago, the Metrics Overlay stop working. I would launch Helldivers, the overlay would pop up on the right side, then the Helldivers Anti-cheat would pop up. Once the actual game started up, the overlay froze for me. It simply would stop updating. I updated to drivers 24.3.1 when they released, and never updated until today (2024/04/25). As I said, I think the Anti-cheat is to blame for that.

You can test the same scenario in helldivers 2 by alt+f4 during the mission , next time you boot it up it keeps the seed for the mission

great video thanks for the information you provide. I upgraded to the new drivers ,and still really hoping one day the drivers can fix the VR performance. I upgraded my my sim racing /vr pc from a 3090 to the 7900xtx around the launch of the 7900xtx and was disappointed with the VR performance. Like you said I wish AMD would really focus on fixing real issues instead adding worthless features. the 7900xtx is beast, and its shame it still cant match last gen performance in VR.

I downloaded these right away. Solved some MASSIVE driver errors I was having on last month's drivers on the 5700XT build (Every and any media player were stuttering with driver crashing sounds). My 7800XT build is working better too now. This drivers are great. Last month's were not good for my rigs.

6700xt caused some issues with my OC profile, reverted to an older one but likely needs some tweaking. Updating the 5700xt pc as I watch this now, so we'll see. Thanks as always.

Oh, one more thing. I went from 67-68 fps (7900xtx, 7700x) in Cyberpunk just standing at my save point to 63-64 after the update in the exact same position. However, I have a ton of mods, so who knows where the hit came from.

Had thr same issues with the 6950xt with a few games and weid issues like the cpu metrics not appearing and it seems to be a lsat gen high end card thing. I get it, and i think the one fixed after redownloading drivers and ryzen masterr but now im worrier to start ryzen master since i dont feel like doing it again. Idk bit i love the info, thwnx brother.

Fabio, my man! :D Thanks for the laughs. By the way, first I made a switch to all AMD because of the information you've provided us. Then once I became experienced with AMD, was comfortable recommending it to a friend. He just got 7900GRE Sapphire Pulse. Absolutely amazing card for that price range. I'm slowly but steadily converting people to AMD with your help :D Sounds like religion xD

For those experiencing crash/bsod, don't forget to update your monitor's firmware. That cheeky bastard made me fresh install windows multiple times.

helldivers always stutters on the 1st land after a clean driver install, same goes for nvidia also the bug where the amd software dont stay on top of helldivers the previews two drivers i had same issue with it aswell not just this new one, nice tshirt nice video keep it up! Also got fps boost on my 5700xt game running butter smooth

I am happy with these updates...there will always be known issues but it seems AMD gets to reducing the number of known issues in each driver update. Keep up the good work...AMD does listen!!

I don't have an HDR monitor but even in SDR I have a similar issue where the colors are washed out after turning the monitor on. The way I fix it is with ctrl+shift+win+B to restart the display driver, which is a lot faster than navigating some Win11 menus, but still annoying as I have to do it everyday.
