So you don't know whether to buy a Intel or AMD processor. Intel 13900K will probably perform around 10% better than the 7950X in gaming workloads. Intel uses 31% more power than the Ryzen 7950X. But the Intel will not be upgradable to the new Intel processor when released, but Ryzen 9 AM5 we support Ryzen 9 7900X3D and other X3D processors.

The biggest reason to go for AMD is the efficiency. You save so much money with the 7950X3D compared to intels flagship and still have similar performance and in some cases even much better performance.

and if you undervolt the 7950x youll get 1/3rd the power draw of the intel chip while outperforming it in many MT applications.

The 7950x is far better overall...I run multiple VMs and have 128gb if memory in my 7950x system. The performance is phenomenal. I can run several server VMs in the background and still play Steam games without skipping a beat. The Intel CPU doesn't come close to that performance and usually starts throttling very quickly when pushed.

@@SixDasher keep calling BS. You don't know what the hell your talking about. Gaming doesn't ever use more than 8 cores and generally only uses 4 with concentration on single boosting core. My 7950x can hit 5.6ghz across all 16 cores 24/7. Explain to me why it can't handle running VMs and about 70-80gb of ram while still gaming with another 8-16gb of memory? Not only can it do it but it can handle that load without even hitting full CPU or memory utilization.

Could you inform more details of your configuration and which applications do you run on your vms? i am interested in having my vps to create web applications and also run game servers while i play as well.

@@LucasSousaRosa I currently have 4 instances of Server (2019/2022). I also run VMWare Workstation on which I create images for work. The software varies but a lot of it is in house software that developers at my company work on. Im usually testing. I do run VOIP server on it as well plus Adobe Suite and personal media server. The thing I like the best is that this CPU can easily handle the load without throttling. I actively have multiple VMs and around 75gb of memory in use in the background when I load up a Steam game. No performance loss and the CPU is capable of running at 5.4-5.6ghz all core 24/7 if needed. You won't find much that it can't handle. My system is all water cooled, I never see temps go beyond 75-80c. I also have a 13900k but honestly with I never bought it. It gets way too hot, way too fast and the efficiency cores are nowhere near as fast as the performance cores. If your looking to build a system but can wait a little bit, check out the leaks fur Ryzen 8000 series. It's shaping up to be the biggest generational performance bump we've seen in a very long time. Up to 30% faster than Ryzen 7000 series and pricing will be the same.

@@HyperionZero that’s still very high if your gaming on 6Ghz but using cinebench or any 3d load or any very heavy CPU load or using blender it can go over 300W overclocked. Go look up gamers nexus video on his review of that CPU and tell me if I’m wrong about it. Barely anyone is running 6Ghz on an intel CPU unless your undervolting it for better temps or using a very expensive loop or an expensive AIO. Or you just overclocked to 6GHZ and enabled limits in the bios to not have the CPU pump a lot of voltage

Somebody show me real time differences. I don't see a difference in game play at 100fps vs 230fps, so at this point, my 5900x is good until big changes come out.

To me it's neck and neck. You're really not going to notice the 10% unless you're doing really heavy loads. I would go amd if you want future proofing. Plus amd is slightly cheaper usually

They always bring out the dumbest shit to make their argument sound stronger without actually trying out a product lmao. "intel too hot" mine never goes above 60 degrees most of the time, "intel uses too much power" mine never goes above 250W usage while overclocking at 6GHz, "intel is too expensive" literally the 7950x is $70 more expensive than a 13900k, "AMD is better for productivity" ok but my 13900k has 8 extra cores, "AMD is good for gaming" sure it is, by a very small fraction and only worth it if you plainly use computers just for gaming only. All this stupid bias needs to go, sick of the entire AMD community.

Why would anyone need a new CPU for atleast 5 years when they ha e a 13900k... By the time you need to upgrade it am6 will be out. Upgrading cpu every two years is an Amd marketing fallacy. The memory controller on the i9 destroys the MC on Zen 4. People routinely getting their Ddr5 at or close to 8000.

I used the 13900k and 7950x...the difference in power usage is staggering. The Intel CPU is not worth buying unless you bought into 12th gen..and it throttles very quickly. The 7950x is the best overall CPU you can buy.
