Ryzentosh 5.0 Guide will work with AM4 motherboards A320 B350 X370 B450 X470 and X570. AMD Ryzen CPUs Starting from Ryzen 3 1200 all the way up to Ryzen 9 3950x. PSA TO ANYONE GETTING THE "ERROR ICON" UPON INSTALLING VIA CLOVER MacOS is extremely sensitive when it comes to any hardware support, that includes USB ports. If you receive this icon and a screen glitch the USB port you have your flash drive plugged into is being cut while booting into the recovery environment. Plug it into a different port (preferably 3.0), reboot, and try again Like so other people can see this

If you don"t mind me asking. Just out of curiosity, why do you have Triple Boot System? Is it because of your Work requirement, or you just like having choices? And which OS do you like and use the most?

@@little_boy_blue For two reasons. I'm a software developer, so I like to try new programming languages and OS. Second, because it sounded like fun. I don't have a favourite OS. I use Ubuntu for work and Windows for gaming.

@@johnm2012 First I followed the common path, Windows first and then Ubuntu on a different SSD with grub to manager the boot. To install macos I unplugged the first two SSDs and chose another one. After all I plugged all SSDs again. Now during post I press F8 to select the disk to boot (or just use the default). Grub shows me Ubuntu and Windows and Clover shows me MacOs and Windows. I'm not capable to use just one of them yet.

You can download it "Vanilla" just make sure it's 10.15.1 or lower as clover only supports that and use transMac or your Macbook to extract the dmg first.

You can but I do recommend installing Catalina on a new separate hdd/ssd drive. I don’t recommend partition.

I tried that in the beginning with mine, it completely bricked my ssd. I had to take it out of the machine and format it.

Well this guide was great. Got my Ryzen 3600 with 5700xt running great now. Glad I still had my old rx 580 lying around. Way easier then the Mojave guide I followed earlier this year.

This is excellent so fair, a couple hang ups like the partition type, you should add a call out telling people they should formate to APFS instead of Extended Journaled. This fixed the "firmware partition" error people are getting.

Followed this guide for a Ryzen 7 2700 + RTX 2060 and worked perfectly. Everything seemed to work fine but my GPU wasn't detected (as expected) and the system was quite laggy. Nonetheless, totally worth the try! Will look for an AMD GPU around. Thanks a lot for the tutorial!

Good Day SIr TechTunerLife, Just for fun, I tried adjusting some formerly untouched BIOS settings and now I can go all the way to the 2 second mark before the brick wall of death. I ordered an RX580 and a 5700XT, both of which will arrive tomorrow. I'm thinking, based on what you've told me and others, is that at that point, OS is looking for a native video card, and quits to a reboot. Thanks again, this is really a lot of fun.

Man, I've been trying to install Mac OS on two Dell's with Intel processors and couldn't make it to work well, they crashed all the time and had to modify kext files and stuff. But with my new Ryzen build and your files and tutorial, it worked flawlessly. Thanks a lot for the tutorial. All is working except my Wifi card, which is based on Intel modem. I will buy a Wifi card with a Broadcom modem that will not need any modifications. My config is: Ryzen 5 3600, MSI Tomahawk B450 Max, 16 Gb 3200Mhz GSkill Ripjaws and AMD Radeon RX 590. You can't go wrong with this config. Once again, thanks for the time you invested in this tutorial, it really helped me. P.S. Writing this from my new Ryzentosh :)

I have default UEFI settings, the only change is that I am running the Ram with XMP profile in order to run at 3200Mhz.

Going to play around with a bit to make sure everything is working that I need and then when I'm happy I'll put back my Windows drive to dual boot. Thanks @TechTunerLife for putting together such a great video, really helped and I learned a ton through the process.

You're a genius! It is the second tutorial I follow (the previous one was High Sierra) and I congratulate you; It is very well explained and anyone who follows them can have a Mac Os. I only have a little thing: the audio has problems (B450 AorusElite Mother), it slows down and is intermittent. Any suggestions or updates, replacement of kexts, etc. Thank you very much

Audio sounds kinda low. I didn’t really dig deeper. I use audio interface focusrite scarlett 2i2 2nd gen.

It has worked well for me on a ryzen 3400G without a dedicated graphic, although I only have 7mb of video, and sometimes it does not start, I restart the PC and then it starts up well, thank you very much.

Because currently there is no support for integrated vega graphics. You need a discrete graphics card.

2700x and 5700 reference card all works well. Built in wifi is a no dice but USB wifi is working well. Thanks man, really good guide. I had to use my very old GPU to install Mac OS (6950). Gigabyte IB450 pro wifi MB.

Was trying a hackintosh install for days without succes. KZfaqr after KZfaqr was bragging about their easy install, but to get their EFI folder you'd have to be a Patreon or paying subscriber. Your tutorial and files finally did the trick and got macOS Catalina up and running. (Asrock x570 Creator / AMD Ryzen 3950x / Sapphire RX5700 XT) Still trying to figure out why some of the USB ports (USB3.1 gen 3) aren't working and haven't tried Thunderbolt yet. But so far, things seem to run smooth. Only thing where I didn't follow the tutorial is with formatting the HD. Had to format to AFPS to install macOS (to prevent missing license partition error)

You do need clover bootloader to boot. Currently there is no support for Catalina 10.15.2 so you can’t update directly.

Glad to see you're still replying to new comments months later! I have a problem at the 5:30 mark when you say to click on the folder "Shared System." It's there and lets me select it, but then Bootdisk Utility returns the error "Can't open '_BaseSystem.dmg' as DMG archive." How do I solve this? I also noticed this folder is missing the InstallESD.dmg file you have, as well as all the folders besides Shared System within the Contents folder. Could that have something to do with it? Thanks!

I would recommend delete the old macOS Catalina folder and download again and start fresh. Seems like something wrong with the OS.

Yes update should work. I manage to update my Ryzentosh from macOS Catalina 10.15.2 to 10.15.3

I didn’t get to test dual monitors yet. I only use single 4K monitor. You can check AMD-OSX forum for more information.

TechTunerLife it all works but every time I do some graphic stuff (clicking on button / minimizing windows) the rainbow cursor comes and system gets stuck. I have the rx 570 and a ryzen 5 1400 so my hardware isnt the problem... any kext missing?

This guide worked seamlessly for me, first attempt (after switching to a Sapphire Nitro GPU for install) and now everything has been running smoothly. Need to add Wifi/BT card still but Ethernet is doing the job so far. Going to migrate to my SSD next. Part list below. Can not thank you enough! you can install any Catalina update with this method but you might have to change some of the kexts to work with you pc

@@MustafaSadatBASEIF it only takes about 5 seconds ish but i belive ur getting stuck on the randsom seed part which means this method will probably not work without scaling your ram/trying another method all together make sure if u have amd your following and amd tutorial and if u have intel follow intel

Sure it was a few steps. But. Still in awe how this worked out. Need to add... You need to have the correct hardware. Just adding what worked for me. Gygabyte aorus pro x570 (non WiFi), Fenvi T919 wireless card for internet and airdrop, Ryzen 3700x, Sapphire 5700xt. (I used a sapphire rx 580 for the install) 32 GB ram Kingston d4 c16.. sure the booting process is not the same 100% as a original Mac. But works . I also have windows 10 installed on a .m2 970 evo Incase i accidentally do a update and loose everything one day and need to keep moving till I get the system back up again. Going to make a donation to this dude right here.. also. Working awesome with Davinci Resolve studio 16 and Logic Pro x..

thx for tutorial (never did that from windows)! btw. your copy took 23 minutes, because you copied (at 9:26) the extracted sharedsupport/4.hfs file to your flashdrive again, which was still there after you extracted and restored it to flashdrive partition. those 1.8gb could save you some minutes.

I’ve got all the settings as in description, long time a go I managed to install High Sierra with one of your tutorials and It worked as charm. My question is for this version Catalina do I need to have AMD GPU or I can install it even with a GPU Nvidia GTX?

You do need a AMD rx series gpu. But you can try the installation part with Nvidia gpu.

Hi - awesome guide thank you. Have you figured out a workaround for the blackscreen during install if you only have a 5700 graphics card? I've tried using the clover boot argument agdpmod=pikera - however I got a completely broken initial mac os screen , the screen where you select install osx or select disk utility screen. I tried hackintos months ago and never success. I gave a shot again yesterday because I have an ios app project. I tried your previous hackintos and didn't work out, even vanilla amd osx, then my last try was this video, first boot gave me an error but I googled and adjust a bit, then finally ohh finally, I got catalina working! Thank you! My last piece is how to set Catalina as default boot ?

I'm happy to report that... HOLY **** IT WORKS! It's my first attempt in a long time, and the first time I succeed on this machine. My setup is Asrock B450M Pro 4, Ryzen 5 2600, RX 570 8GB, 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000 Mhz. Up until now I always had the issue with the memory during installation but with this guide it was flawless. I only deviated from the guide for three things: 1. I didn't want to run an ethernet cable from the router so I downloaded the Clover configuration app beforehand separately on another USB drive. 2. I had to add the kext for generic USB support. it would be good to mention that in future videos, as many of us will need it. 3. I also put on there the driver for my Foktech AC600 Wifi dongle (google "Wireless USB Adapter Clover-V10"), so I was able to be up and running pretty much right away. It now works perfectly. Results: iMessage works fine. Regarding Facetime, I don't have a microphone or webcam, so I couldn't try speaking, but I could hear the other person so probably ok I don't use much either of those anyway. Issues: 1. The only serious issue i've found so far is that Safari crashes with Amazon Prime Video, so I'm using Chrome now, which works fine. There might be workarounds for that but it's not critical as Chrome is good enough and it's what I use on Windows anyway. Siri activates, but in the absence of microphone, I can't try it. 2. I don't think I can run the Adobe Suite on account of this being an AMD processor so this machine definitely won't fully replace my MacBook Pro, but it's nice to be able to boot into MacOS if needed. Final Cut Pro X works, and so does Resolve (so far). I don't have bluetooth yet so I'm unable to try Sidecar. THANK YOU

@@okgoogle9560 I didn't change anything for this OS, really (but I've tinkered with it for a while for my pc, so it might not be exactly like it was straight from the factory). No overclocking on the processor, and RAM is on default XMP settings.

I have some minor issues but the Mac OS is working. Is it possible to use in this tutorial the last version of Catalina, instead of the one presented for download. First versions of OS always have some issues that may be corrected in last ones. This tutorial was the only one I manage do follow, in abou 6 weeks... Thanks so much!

Thanks a lot for your tutorial, very detailed and easy to follow. Here is my build : MSI B450 gaming plus max Ryzen 5 3600 ASUS Radeon RX 5700 XT I followed your guide and used a GTX1060 to do the installation. When I got to the point of changing GPU, I ended up to a black screen. I did removed Whatevegreen kext but it did not solve the problem. So I dig around and I got it to work. Basically I downloaded latest version of Whatevegreen kext and lilu kext, and added them to my USB thumb drive. Then I had to add agdpmod=pikera to the boot parameters. I did that manually in the clover boot menu. After that, my ryzentosh booted and my display was working. I'll probably do another install on another drive and let you know what exactly needs to be done. USB is working, sound is work, network ( wired ) is working. It's pretty good :) Thank again for your video !

Excellent tutorial! Works very well. Have you been able to update to 10.15.2? I get to the part where a data partition is created and when I try to boot from that to complete the install it just hangs. Any ideas? Thanks again for a great tutorial!

Great Video, Ryzen is aweseom, I have the 3900x with 32gb RAM on Catalina.... Very Fast when it works, However but after 1 month of testing.. I have to say , Ryzentosh is probably not worth it. Too many programs doesn't work, even if you use Mojove. The main issue is... Mac software are mostly writtern for Intel CPU, because Macs are intel based. I would just stick with Intel CPUs for hackintosh.
