The only reason I own an RX 6400 is because it’s the best card you can put into an already owned, slim profile PC that only accepts half height cards.

@@hepi_34 that’s what I thought too, but upon further inspection it isn’t. Even the GDDR6 variant of the low profile 1650 is slower than the RX 6400. Even so, the RX 6400 doesn’t need ample PCI-E rail power to run. It uses 53 watts, vs 75 with the GTX 1650 low profile. Not to mention that the RX 6400 is a marginally newer card, thus having a longer driver release span in the future. We all know how well AMD cards age too, with driver updates 🍷.

@@smashgarage I had slim elitedesk 800g2 with rx6400 but I found myself even running older games at 1080p like Borderlands 2 it struggled above 60 if you applied high settings. Ended up returning it and swapping motherboard and case with dell 7040mt, new PSU (SF600 from Corsair) and put RX6600. With i6-6700 it’s now very decent midrange gaming PC in sleeper retro case.

@@TomBabula I actually made it an effort to build the “best” worst PC. I have modern gaming desktops and laptops, but testing out old hardware, with compatible new hardware is a hobby of mine. Currently rocking an I7-3770, with 32GB 8x4 1600mhz DDR3 RAM, an XFX Speedster RX6400, a 250GB SSD, 2TB 7200rpm HDD, a WiFi 6 AX + BT 5.2 pci-e Wi-Fi card, a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy sound card, took advantage of the OEM optical drive bay with a Blu-Ray drive and additionally I added USB-C to it as well. It’s a great machine. Everything has been tweaked to perfection. I can run most new games with medium to high 1080p with no issues. It’s amazing how well that era of I7 4c,8t CPUs have held up.

I mean, it would be good for applications that need multiple displays (most oem mobos have 1 Display out) And idk about scummy just the name of the game

The school I work at has a gaming room with rows of decent gaming PCs. I can see from the outside that it’s probably a RTX 2060 and some sort of Ryzen chip, likely an R3.

Problem is, the GTX 1050 and 1650 exist. Both of which beat the snot out of the 6400 and certainly the 6300. Because these two have 4x PCI4 connectors, which are completely crippled when they are in a PCI3 system. Those SFF systems you mention? All PCIE3. Heck, it's likely that the GTX1030 is faster than a 6300. And 1030 is notoriously crappy.

Especially considering it's modern architecture allowing higher power efficiency.

RX 6300 is costing less than 60$ on chinese websites

If it was sold as a stand alone product sure but making only available in prebuilds doesn't make that an option

No way it's gonna be worse then the 1630. That card was a joke. Was near 200 dollars and was a dual slot full height card. No 30 series card should be anything other then a single slot half height card for the budget sector. That's it. They have their purpose to exist. It's mainly if someone has a dell optiplex and wants to play fortnite or some other esports games.

If its that good I would slap it in some computers if its cheap enough. Some people just want a prebuilt really decent computer with a potato gpu so they can upgrade.

I've been using an RX 6400 on a 4K 144Hz VRR monitor for almost a year. I was surprised that it can play many games at 4K 144Hz, even though they are mostly indie or old games. I was surprised at how good RSR is. FSR 1.0 offers a better quality than playing at 1080p on a native 1080p monitor, playing at 1080p FSR on a 4K monitor.

well they’re both 300’s and this one’s newer so i’m sure they both suck but the 6300 is most likely better

Yes. Very good. That is if you use it for streaming/creating content more than you use it for gaming. İf you game more than you work, i would prefer downgrading to a 5600x with a bettee gpu.

You can get a used rx580 8gb for less than $100 and it'll beat 6500xt in many games

go for pre owned or RX 6400. Or just a ryzen with a G in the number and don't get a discrete gpu.

Except high-end 🤣 because if they actually competed we'd get lower prices from Nvidia and the beast of a card for years to come aka GTX 1080 Ti if you didn't know back when that card came out and Nvidia was scared of AMD of what they had behind the table release the 1080ti and well it turns out AMD was all bark and after that it looks like Nvidia hasn't really worried about AMD as they keep dropping ball in the high end maybe one day AMD maybe one day again.
