That’s bee movie in a nutshell. Most of the bee info in this Movie is bullshit. Besides them all being related tho.

Sort of, but not exactly. Even if the bees move their wings up and down, the math still doesn't add up. The scientist who made that quote legitimately didn't understand very well why bees could fly at all. And he didn't not run the calculations like it was an airplane. They just assumed their wings were rigid, but they understood it was a back and forth motion. They were certain bees could flap their wings at about 200 hz through sound experiments. But even if bees could flap their wings at a higher frequency, regular back and forth movement cannot generate enough lift. They need a very high frequency closer to 300 hz to do it and assume this would not create vibrations in the air that would make their flight unstable. It wasn't until high speed cameras came around that scientists were able to take a closer look at their flight that they were able to solve the mystery. It turns out not only are their wings not rigid, but their wings follow a half ellipse movement rather than a straight movement like it was previously thought. Their wing bends inwards to catch more air and straightens when returning. With that new geometry, the calculations make sense, but it is quite inefficient.

It's almost like the time when someone on 4chan solved a legendary math formula, just to find the right watch order for Clannad, (that or either Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya).

@@gredystar8333 Another reason the math didn't add up is because fluid dynamics at smaller scales works differently to fluid dynamics on macro scales. They didn't know much about fluid dynamics back then, and add that to their misconceptions on how insect wings move, like how you pointed out, you get wrong assumptions and inaccurate math.

It was fucking stupid. Sure, they're using them to sell their hardwork but it's maintaining the ecosystem. If there's someone out there who will do something similar like this, my faith in humanity will diminish

You’d think a movie that makes a bunch of jokes about marrying your cousin would have more than one good joke, especially considering how the internet loves to spam shit “sweet home Alabama” memes. At least here it was actually more interesting.

I think it's not that much about the joke itself but about how you say it or execute it. A lot of jokes were ok but they ruined them by adding the "hey look at me! I am making a joke here! here it goes!" vibe to them. When people notice you are in a position where "You are trying to make them laugh" they naturally raise up their defenses and become much harder to make them laugh. You could have the best jokes on paper but instantly turn them into unfunny content when executing them wrong. Even bad jokes can be funny when executing them differently but this movie tried to be Dreamworks and failed miserably. Kenny alone and his voice acting carried the movie, he made his own lines sound a lot funnier

My favourite joke is when she says "You cumming?", flies a glider into a mountain face and explodes.

At first, his concern is logical, although he literally says he has been stung before and gets all swollen, not dead. But after, when he knows Barry is logical and wouldn't suicide to make him get swollen for a while, it's unfounded and dumb. Like many people afraid of little insects that can just ruin your day.

I've had reactions from a lot of essentially "harmless" insects before (like mosquitoes) and I developed an insect phobia because of my allergies because I've been sent to hospital so many times because of them. So whenever I see an insect, I'm already trying to kill it, because there's an actual chance is either them *or me*, and I'd rather not risk it.

But besides that, the Bee movie is not really a terrible film but more like UTTERLY ridiculous that its both fun to watch and to poke fun at. I would say its really entertaining and was one of the favourite movies I watched as a kid cause of how silly it is. At least Finding Neemo has its constraints so you dont really have to suspend disbelief throughout the film unless you specifically know how fish anatomy works, plus it goes serious plotwise and manages to get the watchers invested. In this movie, its gone beyond needing to suspend disbelief since the entire thing is impossible. A bee putting an ecological cycle into court as a humanitarian (which in this case a Beetarian) issue and somehow winning is hilarious. A bee having the same appearance recognition as a human and being able to deem another species as attractive is also hilarious, moreso when the bee managed to cuck a decent guy. As a movie I would give this a 7/10 rating cause it was just so damn entertaining. And the best thing about it is that this movie is specifically made for both KIDS and ADULTS. Silly plot but has many adult jokes (seriously, that "you guys marry your cousin" joke to the bees went over my head when I was young). Personally, I dont think people think this movie is terrible, rather its very ridiculous that its a meme. From that incorrect Bee aviation script to the whole plot lmao.
