The Yamato class battleship was built by the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was also the last battleship type built in Japan. It is the world's largest battleship in terms of both water capacity and the caliber of its main guns.
The first two ships, Yamato and Musashi, were completed as battleships; the third, Shinano, was redesigned and completed as an aircraft carrier in response to the war against the U.S. The fourth, 111 (Kii), was scrapped in 1942 after its construction was discontinued.

The fourth battleship of the Yamato class, known as "battleship number 111" is intended to be built at the Sasebo shipyard, it was in principle planned to be named "Kii". I cannot confirm if his main artillery included 510mm (20 inch) caliber guns instead of 460mm (18.1 inch) caliber guns. For information, the class of Japanese battleship named (super Yamato) was imagined in 1942, the Japanese decided to build two battleships responding to the A-150 project. Originally, the Japanese thought of building a 90,000 ton ship armed with eight or nine 510 mm guns in 4 double turrets or 3 triple turrets, which would make it the most powerful battleships in history. It seems that the configuration 09 guns of caliber 510 mm (20 inches) distributed in 03 triple turrets would have been retained Two ships were planned to be built, these two ships were to be named "Shikishima" and "Yashima", but they were never built. Some rumors claim that this was in response to the US Navy's super battleship project (Montana class) capable of competing with the "Yamato" class. The "Montana" class was to have a displacement of 66,000 tons and be armed with a main artillery comprising 12 guns of 406mm (16 inches) distributed over 4 triple turrets (02 at the front, 02 at the rear); 05 ships were planned to be built, but their construction was abandoned: the US Navy having chosen to have aircraft carriers.

Hull no.111 never named Kii at all ,actually the real Kii class ship that was planned in the 8-8 fleet program don't look like Yamato class ,Kii class is actually the fast battleship version of Amagi class with the same gun layout but have much better armour layout ,of course it much slower can only do about 28knots, if the Washington naval treaty never approve the IJN would built the following classes after Nagato class .. It would be Tosa ,Amagi ,Kii ,and Number 13 class ,the first 3 class would have the same gun layout of 5x2 16.1"inch turret , Amagi class (BattleCruisers) ,Tosa class (Nagato with 5 turrets) Kii Class (Fast Battleship version of Amagi) and Number 13 class (more like Nagato with 18.1"inch guns 4x2) ..

みんな敷島って言ってるけど敷島は確かwowsが勝手につけただけで本来の超大和型戦艦の2艦の艦名は諸説はあるけど、紀伊・尾張になる予定だったって説はある。あくまで説だから基本的には超大和型戦艦って呼べば大丈夫だと思う。

Excellent work👍🏻 A lot of persons don't realize how small it is (on the screen it looks big) and the time it takes. I made the Yamato 1/350 (old Tamiya kit) and I did the same thing with the primer for the hull plates. I started (a while ago) the Musashi 1/700 with full photo-etched from Flyhawk, it's too much for me, it takes me forever, I didn't give up but it's not really fun. So the Kii would have been exactly the same ship as the Yamato? Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work, the result is splendid😍.

japan planned five yamato class but three was finished two battleships one converted to an aircraft carrier the fourth was scrapped for material to convert the ise class as battle carriers the fifth was outright cancelled

細かい所ですが、完成後に砲塔を動かす時は、艦橋上に乗っている測距儀も同じ方向に向けてやると良いですね。接着しちゃってたら無理ですが・・・

Really wish I Could find these snap kits more easily....I tried buying a IJN haruna from hobylink Japan that said it was a snap fit and was sent a skill lvl4 or 5 one instead......

最後軍艦旗的翻譯超怪www去看google翻譯還真的是軍艦少尉wwwww 軍艦旗(日/台漢字同じ)應該指的是海軍軍旗，戦闘旗(戰鬥旗)指的是艦長的官階？有誤請糾正w 因為這個我還特地去翻維基百科，意外發現海上自衛隊跟中華民國海軍用的官階旗很類似。少將一樣是上下各有一條紅邊，中將以上就不一樣了，中將鑲的紅邊剛好相反，日本的紅邊在上台灣的紅邊在下。日本大將就簡單明瞭，反觀台灣在上將部分還有分一二級，有興趣的可以去維基看～

the 1920s kii was cancelled under the washington naval treaty so the ships name was passed on the fourth yamato class that means owari the second kii class is also the fifth yamato class it make's sense to reuse cancelled planned ship names like how amagi's name was reused on a unryu class aircraft carrier

超大和型戦艦では主砲は51サンチの三連装を4基ほど搭載する予定だったらしいですが計画が見直され最終的には大和型戦艦と同規模の船体に51サンチ連装砲3基6門装備とされました。

Kii was a 1920's IJN fast battleship design that was never actually built en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kii-class_battleship Warship 111 never was actually named en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato-class_battleship#Warships_Number_111_and_797 My thinking is that the model is a Kii class battleship (Mostly because it has twin main battery guns, not triple as the Yamato class had) but that it is based on the Yamato class as the Kii class was never actually built. I can't even find drawings for it, it only really seems to exist as a list of requirements the Japanese navy wanted.

敷島は船体を延長して51サンチ連装砲を一基増やしたものであって、超大和型戦艦の初期計画案として存在する艦です。しかし当時の国内最大級のドックである横須賀、呉のドックでもそれを実現するのは難しく、51サンチ連装砲を3基に抑えたものが紀伊以降の超大和型戦艦です。
