I have previously said I would never buy one of these bags, I don't like the shape and I find them frustrating to use, but now I have 2 in my collection! I’ve got an Alma BB in red Epi. I’m 176cm tall and a size 14UK/10US. I’m a typical pear shaped body. I wear my Alma cross body most of times and never ever found it awkward or uncomfortable! surely, it sticks out a bit but never to a point where i’ve consider it annoying. I just love this bag! it’s so classic and versatile! Both your versions are gorgeous, Amelia! By the way, first time I comment, but I watch every single one of your videos and drool over your collection every single time 💕💕

It's the angularity of the diamond shape and design on Amelia which doesn't work. And the black and white. too high contrast that echoes the angularity. JIMO

I love my Alma bb. Mine is in vernis and 10 years old now. I would never buy it in canvas because it is not an everyday bag. It’s for going out and special occasions. I only use mine hand-held. If you want a casual everyday bag, get a speedy in canvas.

The alma bb is my absolute favorite all time LV bag style to this day. I own the damier ebene and five in the vernis leather which I prefer. I find them very comfortable to wear cross body and I usually have one of the zippers down one side so I don’t have to double zip at all. I owned two LV speedy B 25 for every day use which I found super bulky and annoying to wear cross body so I sold them and is why I bought the alma bb in the damier ebene. Fantastic every day bag in my opinion and sits perfectly and slim not bulky like the speedy. Love your channel and your orange alma nano. I have yet to check the nano’s out but haven’t because I own a few Balenciaga Ville XXS which have a very similar look. XOXO

Hun…don’t zip both zips in the middle. I zip it all the way to one side so it’s easier to open with one hand. Also I wear my Alma with the handles up,definitely not down. Sorry to say, i cant’t lie the Alma Nano looks really hideous on us, it’s more suitable for girls in their teens. The proportion of the bag and the width of the strap doesn’t seem right. I love all my Alma BBs, I don’t find any of the issues you mentioned is a con for me😉

@@MissTiffee619 Just zip around 2/3, not all the way down. It has 2 zips so work until the level you are comfortable at using one hand to open, if you know what I mean😉

I zip mine to the curve that sits at the front of my body when worn so I just need to use the one zip on top. Works fine that way.

I think it hangs similar to the Lady Dior. Both bags are meant to be hand held with a crossbody option for occasional use. I have the black in Epi. I needed a basic black bag and it’s my only plain black option. It’s also VERY sturdy. I recently dropped it on the pavement and it didn’t suffer any scratches. I wanted the Epi in navy but it’s no longer available on the LV website in the US.

Here's some tips that worked for me with my Alma BB...In regards to the strap I use me guitar strap from Marc Jacob and put it on my shoulder instead of trying to crossbody the bag, which looks more pleasing...I also clip the strap to sides of the hardware instead of using the clips, this allows for even distribution...as for the zipper I put the lock on side of the bag & leave the zipper stationary and only use one of the zippers to open & close the bag, which makes it easy to open & close with one hand...hope these tips were helpful 😉

Is the zipper divided in the middle (at the handle) into two zippers or could you put both pull strings on one side of the bag and just open it by pulling on one of them .. like you would do on luggage?

Yes, 2 zippers. You can leave one zipper down and pull the other along the whole length of the bag to close. But, as I’ve posted in the main section, I leave each zip half way on each side - I never zip to the top. I prefer the bag to be left open at the top. It’s easier to get stuff in/out.

I have the Alma PM ( in Monogram) since more than 7 years now and I never wear her crossbody. I wear her with the shoulder strap of my speedy bandolaire or handheld. Often I carry her on one handle and let the other fall down ( like a capuccines) , have it half open ( like this look) and so I can easily get in for my things. I use my PM often as a working bag, when I don’t have to carry books or a laptop in my bag 💕

Yup it's not a crossbody and those zippers require both hands 🙄 The strap is kinda thin and agree the rivets are set in odd locations.. It scraps the top of the hand but hey it's cute and fits alot but so does other bags. I still have mine but don't use it often it's great for the days you don't need a crossbody. I bought mine in store for 1340 back in 2020 😊

Ohhhh noooo I love the Alma bb crossbody ❤ It’s utter perfection on me. However I’m 177cm and a UK 14/16. I think height is key to wear this crossbody 🙂 Agree with the dents in the Malletage, I store mine with the handles tied up with a ribbon to avoid the hardware laying on the lambskin ❤

My other half bought me my Alma BB in Damier Ebene as my retirement gift & I absolutely love it. I do agree about it being not the easiest crossbody so I do tend to hand carry it if I’m honest, I don’t like the diagonal attachment either. I never know where to attach the padlock without worrying it will get scratched! My solution to the not liking it crossbody was to then buy the Pochette Metis - problem solved! 😃

I have the Alma BB in canvas. It's an everyday bag for me. I only wear it crossbody. I am 5'2, curvy and large, chested, and it works for me crossbody. I love mine. It's relatively easy for me to use as well.

I have a regular Alma PM. I'm 5'5"/165cm and 170lbs/77kg and wear it crossbody all the time. I think if you arrange the zips with one more forward than the other it makes a large difference. Dont have them meet in the middle. I also think you have yours a bit too short to lay nicely. My ancient canvas has no feet. BTW your suit is gorgeous on you.

I agree with some of the other commenters. It is really meant to be handheld. The strap is for a just in case situation. I have had many bags over the years that have had both handles and straps. I usually take off the straps and just use them handheld. If I want cross body I buy strictly crossbody.😊

The reason I want a pm over a bb is that 1.) I don’t like it crossbody because it sticks out so I’d carry it handheld leading to 2.) the pm I can carry in the crook of my arm more comfortably. This is the bag I’m saving to get in the flagship in paris one day.

I agree with everything you have said! I can’t wear mine crossbody because I am 5 foot 2 and when I bought mine in 2015 it did not have the adjustable strap - it is in vernis blue azure and very beautiful but I really don’t use it much as it is really better hand held which annoys me! The zips are also annoying I agree and now zip both to one side.

Totally agree that it looks and feels awkward crossbody, and I prefer to hand carry it -- I do appreciate that the size of the handles makes it comfortable to carry in the crook of your arm.

The Alma was actually my first bag from LV and it’s my favorite bag from LV. I own 4 in different sizes, canvas, epi leather and limited edition. I don’t ever wear it cross body though. I don’t think it looks good as a crossbody and i never wear my bags crossbody anyways. I usually just hold in the crook of my arms or if I need to be hands free I’ll wear it on my shoulder. I never zip it in the middle because I put the lock on mine. so I never have a problem getting in and out of the bag easily. I just zip it all the way down to one side. Ps your limited edition Alma is stunning. Love the orange nano too. I’m trying to convince myself I don’t need the nano. Since I already have 4 alma in my collection. 😄

The crossbody strap attachments aren't my fave, but again, it's not a big problem for me. I still love the bag. I enjoy the hand carry but do use it crossbody for convenience.

I wear my alma bb as a shoulder bag or hand carry, I use the strap from my neo noe mm because the strap that comes with the alma is too long for shoulder. I agree with you it sticks out when worn crossbody. I like your black and white meletage version but if it creases easily then its a hard no for me, your review has been very informative and useful.

The crossbody aspect of the Alma does not bother me at all because I’ve always just seen it as a handheld bag. I love the style and sophistication of a nice top handle bag. Of course that’s only practical in certain scenarios.

Amelia you are correct! I dislike alma bags, i hope I don’t offend anyone but they look like a giant cosmetic pouch. When using as crossbody base sticks out too much. I also don’ like where the straps attach to the bag in reference to the size of the bag. Thank you for the video

Hi Amelia! I have a limited edition Alma BB in Damier Azur, purchased in the spring of 2022. I usually wear it as a shoulder bag, rather than crossbody. I also do not like how the bag sticks out on me. However, when I need to be hands-free, I will wear it crossbody. I love the handbag. The interior will hold quite a bit for a smaller-sized handbag. My first luxury purchase was the Alma BB. I’m 6ft tall and a size 10/12. I agree with all your points. It hits me in a weird spot on both my shoulder or crossbody. But then again most bags don’t fit me bc of how tall I am. I found myself fiddling with multiple extenders etc. only to get super frustrated, banging it against stuff inadvertently bc it sticks out so far from my body. While the two zips are beautiful they’re kind of annoying. I ended up selling it not that long ago. I’m looking forward to trying on the nano bc I love the alma and hoping to make it work in a different size. Fingers crossed! 🤞 Thanks for the in depth review, it’s super helpful.

I’ve had my Alma bb in the Damier Ebene for almost 4 years now and I love it for nighttime use because it’s small enough not to look funny at night but spacious enough for my essentials. I’ve never worn it crossbody but it works for me as a shoulder bag if I have to be hands free. But I’m 5ft7 so it may help

I’ve always loved the Alma. It’s a classic. Mine is the PM and is only hand held. I was so tempted by the malletage too. The navy or the ombré one. I also still think about the epi leather in BB size as I just think it’s carefree. It’s not the best crossbody but it’s nice to have the option. I knew the black and white had your name on it x

Love mine in the Epi, price is still really good for the Alma. I tend to wear it as a long shoulder bag or hand held with the zip set on the curve so I can easily open it with the one zip. It’s not a bag I’d buy for cross body unless I was tall and slender, then it would look better. The suit looks great on you and the CD belt too. You need (‘need’ 😂) one of the crystal, coloured Ferragamo belts so you can dress it up for an after work dinner.

Definitely a beautiful bag, but I would never buy one for the exact reasons that annoy you….the two zips & how it hangs. I love a top handle, but I want the handle to always stand up (if that makes sense) for grab and go ease and then the crossbody. I’ve learned it’s my preferred style for everyday use. I am such a fan of mini/micro dome bag, but the larger ones are a no for me. I have an Alma PM in vernis I received as a gift that I love to look at, but it's way too big on my frame (I'm very short and thin, so I look like I'm playing dress up when I use it). I have a mini satin alma that I love using for evening looks, as the wide base makes it very functional. I also have a micro sierra in bright pink that is fantastic for day or night. They are small, but they are mighty. I love wearing them crossbody for practicality. I do think the alma has a little thicker base than the Coach sierra though, so the alma doesn't lay as nice against my body, but it doesn't really bother me at all.

Amelia, I wondered how you’d go with the Alma love the black/white combo. That’s the only positive for me, being older I use a walking stick. Def require a cross body bag but opposite side clips would do my head in along with the twin zips (you made me laugh abt the “zips attacking yr hand”). Ty for yr vlog, take care. I'm the same height as you. I have the beige melletage BB with studs. And nano monogram with green trim (LOVE!). The trick is to pull the handle up against your body on the inside one and it lays MUCH flatter. It's really easy on the nano. It's not bad on the BB, but WAY better than having both down. BTW, which size studs are you wearing with the Idly jewelry? I want some of these as I have seen you show these a few times and really like them!

I own five Alma pm and three bb because they are beautiful. The pm Alma is useful when I need to take more things, the bb bags are for going out. I don’t mind that the bb bags stick out when I wear them cross body. All the pm bags have straps so that I can sling them on my shoulder. The double zips are not an issue, sometimes I just leave the tops open and reach in. My favourite is the epi bb in rose ballerine.

It’s so gorgeous ( the malletage), all would be forgiven. I wonder if a hair dryer would help creases? I’ve carried this style of bag in the past and really liked it. Called a zip zip in Dooney land!

Hi Amelia, I have 5 Alma BBs and love them! Wear them on the arm or crossbody it’s amazing! It even fits a small bottle. I even have a rare purple croc version and cannot recommend them more! Sorry 🤣 I love them ❤ xxx

I love the design but unfortunately doesn't work for me. I bought two Almas last year and returned them. Then decided to try Hermes Bolide, which is similar in design and had to return it too. I guess I stick to the Speedy.

Oh dear...not every bag has to be worn crossbody, even the speedy you love isn't made to be worn crossbody 😂 Listen this is a fabulous bag that worth it's price tag and I am against spending fortunes on bags. It takes your outfit from 6 to 10. If I see you wearing it on the street, I would assume you're a CEO or a top notch executive. Enjoy it.

I’m only 5 foot one as well. I thought it was just my size that made the Alma not fit right. Maybe it fits better on taller people with a longer torso? Nonetheless, the black-and-white Alma is elegant. I would own it just to appreciate it’s beauty and carry as a handbag. Great video.

I have this bag in two colors. Impractical as it is, I do just love the look of it. I don't know if you've noticed yet, Amelia, but I would store it with the top handles gently tied so that they stay UP. If they press against the leather, that will eventually crease it as well. My navy one, which I purchased pre-owned, had slight creasing from the handles resting against the lambskin in storage. Not enough to deter my purchase, but it has put me on notice.

See I have the Alma bb and I love it. I love it more than I thought. First I vary rarely completely zip it. I don’t find a need to since I usually wear it hand held and now one is getting into it that way. I have worn it cross’s body and I am shorter than you at 5 ft and I don’t see it as an issue. What you see I don’t. I have the pm coussin and it sticks out way more. In fact most of my bags that I wear cross body will stick out because I stuff them with crap lol. I guess we are all different and see different issues and different things annoy us. Thanks for the review

Most people would never see the bugga-boos that you see and feel. If it bothers you, it bothers you, I have the Alma in a canvas BB. I haven’t used it enough to feel very comfortable using it. I’ll keep your thoughts in mind.

I was the one who ordered it and sent it back. It was a mess, yours looks <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="952">15:52</a> 100x better than the one I was sent. Also the handles weren’t centred. I really love the bag so was disappointed.

The thing that gets me are the handles that get wonky / totally slanted because of where the strap attaches. You don’t get this with the Lady Dior although it’s diagonally attached as well. <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="1249">20:49</a>

i'm short, so the crossbody strap it came with was FAAAR too long. spent an extra 250 on the crossbody strap (adjustable). now i only find myself wearing it handheld anyway, just like you said! lol!

I love the bag. Nothing really bothers me. I don’t zip it all of the way Or I leave the zippers on the side. Mine is newer with adjustable strap. My favorite bag cross body is pochette metis.

I keep both zips on the side and that way I pull only one zip around get what I want and then pull it shut all the way to the other on on the side. Don’t keep the zips on the top

Hi Amelia hope all is well with you and your family! Why don’t you try zipping your Alma’s with both zippers on one side? You would only have to fiddle with one zipper all the way across but I think it would be easier to use the bag with one hand if needed:)

So half down on the left side and on the right side. I don’t think I could carry it fully zipped. It would drive me insane 😱 I don’t mind the cross-body bulk. It’s bulky but it looks cool 😎

I can’t stand my Alma bb. Same reasons u mentioned. I will be selling it because it’s just not for me. I NEVER wear it crossbody and I also don’t like the shape because of how it tapers up. I can only hold items mostly at the base.

I’ve been saying for years that I wish they LV would stop marketing this bag as a crossbody. It is not. It’s one of my favorite bags in my collection. It’s a great top handle. I have never worn it crossbody and never will.

I kept the lock on my rose ballerine Alma and my damier ebene one ( I only use one zip so the second zip and lock sits on one side. I don’t bring it to the middle) - the lock noise is ANNOYING AF 🤣 every time you take a step tap tap tap 😅😂 and the bag itself doesn’t sit right when worn on shoulder or crossbody ( now I could take the lock off but I just think it looks nicer with it on 😂) annoying bags but pretty

I had the Hermès bolide and sold it. I bought the Alma BB in damier ebene and I’m not in love with it, I don’t think that shape of bag is for me. Personally I really don’t like the zipper on the Alma. I even let it open because it’s not easy to get in and out. I wear it crossbody mostly , it’s fine but not the best. No more Alma for me for sure or any other bag that shape.

The Alma is not meant to be weared cross body. LV added the strap later to follow the crossbody style, something more modern. I have the same size and wear cross body or over shoulder when I am tired to hold her.

2 hands? No! Try just switching the direction of the bag to use the same hand to open the other zip. It will loosen up on the access. If you wear it cross body towards the front it won't stick out visually as much. I love the shape of the Alma. But choose it for your body type. The BB is ok for your size IMO. It's far more practical than the Lady Dior or the LV Capucines JIMO. But what I object to with this bag is it will not readily integrate with your wardrobe. It's far too angular with the diamond shape and your'e not an angular type. The high contrast black and white are not your colours. JIMO.

LOL ... ya making problems up :-)) i have 3 BB model and 2 PM model i let them half open, this way i have no problems with zippers/ to get in and when i wear them crossbody i use both loops on the same side ( body side ) for the strap, that way the bag sits close to your body, flat. ya welcome LOL
