No joke, a former student of a theatre school my parents run went on Britain's got talent and apparently the producers wanted her to tell the judges about her grandma who died and she didn't want to. She didn't get very far even though she's got a great voice

It's true that many people with sob stories do get the golden buzzer but many people who got it fully deserved it. Also the golden buzzer just qualified you to the final, doesn't mean you won. Those golden buzzers who just qualified for their sob stories and not their talents never actually win at the end. It's always the best talent

Someone in the comments said that the staff of this TV show tell them to mention their sad memories and if they refuse they don't get far in the program. So, it's not them benefitting from their tragedies and wanting attention, the producers actually want views and force contestants to share their sad life story.

@@medstudentsarah3745 The producers definitely have a lot to do with it, but people still have a choice whether or not to accept what they’re told. They don’t have to. I think this culture of being willing to be disingenuous to become famous isn’t a healthy one. Plus, there have been some people who have been successful on there without a sad story. Grace VanderWaal won AGT and she didn’t have a sad story.

Fr though my friend's friend's uncle decided to go to AGT once to show his talent (making a weird pop-pop tune) and his wife suggested to tell the judges that his grandma died and make up a story that she was his inspirating and other stupid fake stuff. Later he cancelled the idea.

I think the part where they said no one in the Middle-East supports dancers and how they want to "empower Arab women" is the sob story though. So, it seems like you won't win without being sad or without crying. It's ironic they call themselves( "name of country" got talent) instead of (got tragedy) instead.

That performance dropped harder than the Greek economy. By putting the AirPods into your nose, your doctor turned your mouth into a speaker. So in the end, going to the hospital was well worth it, especially since you got a whole Big Time Rush concert. It's a shame Simon Cowell shows more of his good side on AGT than the side he is known for. Simon Cowell is such a phenomenal roaster, that all we need to get victory is to send him across enemy lines

I actually hate AGT after I listened to what happened to the contestants there , how mistreated and abused they were on and off set , how they were forced to be and act like people they weren't and later criticised for it on stage in front of the public , Simon's hate for people who wanna be themselves like the drag queens etc... Honestly You have portrayed a very realistic and horrifying reality of these reality shows in an entertaining way!
