I would love to make on less money and we do have to be very careful with our money, but yes i do have a little put away.

It's good to see someone doing something exciting on a tight budget . Everyone has a budget to stick to. Some are just larger than others. A tight budget, and fun can go hand in hand, if you "mind your Ps and QS".

I found it funny that he said "it may sound low" 😅 I have a bottle of isopropyl for sterilizing things. It cost me about $3 a year ago and there's still a third left. 😊

@@dreed7312 150 a month for alcohol isn't "light". A bottle of wine for a nice stay at home date dinner every 10 days or so is normal.

​@@dreed7312I buy Ever clear and divide it amongst several small spray bottles including a 1.5 ounce bottle in my pocket. It's 95 percent alcohol and I am not crazy enough to start drinking it.

Our budget has held up so far we go over on the dockage but everything thing else comes in lower so far and we are all most done with the Loop, and I could not afford a Gas burner myself

Well it’s pretty easy but I would budget about 15k for a set up like that will depend on your speed but you could get 1.5 miles per gallon at 4.25 per gallon

Hi Dean; When I get my boat I’ll get you the specs. Roughly 35 - 41, twins ( 300 - 400 hp diesels), 2005 - 2015 for insurance purposes. We’ve been looking at Beneteau 34 and 35, Meridian 408, Carver, Aquila (power cat) and Mainship. Kinda shying away fro Mainship due to the interior darkness. The engines I would like to have would be Cummins but not that definite. Electronics could go either way. I’m hoping for the newest but that again is minimal. We’re doing a Trawler school in December so that should answer a lot of questions. Where we start from may depend on where we buy the boat. Preferably east coast of Florida and maybe hire a Captain to take it to point B. Are you following anyone that has or is doing the loop? I got hooked on “What Yacht to Do” and have gone back to watch from day 1. I need to get a life but that will come soon. Stay in touch. David

@@davidingraham1989 What is the trawler school you are taking? I was looking for something in the mid 30’ range. I like the Kadey Krogen, Selene, Sabre, and American Tug in addition to,the ones you mention. I read the current version of The Loopers Companion and it changed my desire for a boat in the 40s. I think my biggest hurdle right now is figuring out how to get insurance. I had very similar ideas about getting started on the journey. I spend too much time on Yachtworld. Looking forward to hearing what you settle on and the reason. Dean

Loop Princess did those numbers new boat is about 1.8 MPG is the best we can do.

Mark America's Great Loop is about 5500 miles taken you all around the East coast of the US the great lakes and then down the river system of the US. Not many people do it but the few that do are lucky for sure.

We did good, but the prices have gone up a little, since then. Fuel is the cheapest part of the loop👍🏻🙏❤️😉

I think that is total realistic numbers

I did not those are fixed cost that I pay by the year and it cost us 2000.00 a year for that.

Right I was lucky with fuel at 2.50 to 3.00 a gallon

Brother we can’t go fast and burn that much fuel

Also remember you have pretty strong currents on a river… sometimes you don’t need much fuel to move along.

@@NoRegretsLifestyle that’s pretty amazing mileage for a boat of that size. My 40’ Meridian with twin Cummins 380 gets about 1 gal per mile at around 10mph. What size motors do you have?

Hoping it works out like that, I am sure we will have good months and bad ones but we really need to stick to that budget.
