I went into our genealogy and couldn’t believe I was a direct descendent of one of the most famous Salem witch accusers. How great: I’m kin to a 17th century Karen. 🤦‍♀️

I'm a paranormal investigator & been to that cemetery. Had some great creepy experiences there, including seening a blue ball of light flying throughout the cemetery & near Mercy's tomb. Great place, one of my favorites to investigate

I really hope people are not leaving his grave without flowers to send some kind of message. Because modern people are so stuck up they have no idea how it would have felt to be him back in a time where sometimes superstitions did work. He was doing whatever he could. Watching your last member of your family dying had to be so hard. Then trying to save them and watch him still die... It just breaks my heart.

I was born and raised in RI and we all grew up learning about the Mercy Brown story. A neat History Fact …. Mercy’s mom Mary Eliza (Arnold) Brown is a direct descendant of Benedict Arnold the first who was the First Governor of RI and father of Benedict Arnold II . Kinda cool. Remember Doc Holiday of Tombstone fame? Doc also went to Colorado for the dry air and spring water in order to get relief from consumption. Doc died in Colorado.

Most of the witches in Salem where actually hanged in the gallows. Salem is a cool albeit chilling little town. I love NE! Lamont, go read up on the vampire in our historic Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA. I think it would pique your interest.

I've never heard of this. I'm 64. Watched Dark Shadows after school. They had a vampire named Barnabas Collind. Cursed by a jealous witch in 1795, he was a vampire. Dead by day, alive at night drinking blood to survive. That's all I've seen on vampires. This story is quite interesting. Never heard this before. Love your channel on utube.

Very interesting. Medical science has come a long way. As a child in the 1950’s I remember the centers called sanitariums where people with TB were housed and treated. At least there is treatment available today.

I was fascinated by the Salem Witch Trials and tales of this nature. First time hearing about the Browns, you told the story well and made it much more interesting. Oh and the mother and eldest daughter died 2 years apart.

It shows on the graves that Mary(mother) died in 1883 & Mercy(oldest) died 1892 so it would be 9 years apart

@@rhi7782 mercy wasn’t the eldest… Mary Olive was. As she was born 1861 and Mercy was born 1873. 1873 to 1892 is 19years…. Which is when mercy died.. and on Mary’s grave it says 1861 she was born

Salem is such a cool town. America is a “young” country, but we have some cool and interesting history. My mother’s maiden name is Brown. So most of my family are Browns.

Never get tired of listening to your well researched stories spoken in a voice pitched perfectly to deliver these stories every time you upload. You never miss a beat so be proud dude. You are doing great things. YOU - NEVER BORE NEVER WAFFLE NEVER DISAPPOINT. Continue doing what you do. You prob don’t need to change it up too much just yet. I remember my Mum telling me she left school at 12 or 13 to mind her younger siblings (my grandfather had to tend the farm) as her Mum was in hospital for 3 years with TB. Mum was born in 1932 so not a billion years ago.

I had tuberculosis, I had to take 5 pills everyday for a whole year! And yes, it's a living nightmare, you definitely don't want to know what it's like.

1 of my daughters who has a compromised immune system has inactive tuberculosis she had her TB jab at school but it didn’t work as she has caught it off someone.

Yes! I had worked at WPAFB in the early 1980s. I caught the TB germ. I had to take meds for 1 yr. thank you Lamont for sharing this. I hope there all resting in peace. Be safe out there. ✌🏻✌🏻
