The mountains around Crestone, Colorado are considered one of the most sacred places on the North American continent by the native American Indians.
Hanne Strong moved there with her husband in the late 1970's. An old man, locals called the Prophet, approached her and said he had a vision that she was 'chosen' to set up a centre for the word's spiritual traditions and that the centre would teach people how to evolve and live with nature.
Through a twist of fate, a failed real estate venture prepared the area for habitation with roadworks, electricity and water put in along the mountain range.
Hanne established the Manitou Foundation with the help of some wealthy benefactors and started giving away land grants to various spiritual, educational, and environmental groups.
Manitou has since established the largest intentional, interfaith, and ecumenical retreat center and sustainable teaching community in North America having granted over 2000 acres of land.
Approximately twenty thousand retreatants visiting each year, seeking to develop inner peace and balance with oneself and nature.

I went to Crestone, the valley there and visited Mrs Hanne Strong with my church -- Shinji Shumeikai in April. I could feel that she's a person with high spirits. She shared a lot with us, something very spiritual. The Shinji Shumeikai has a temple there, the Temple of Earth. Seek for more Meishusama's teaching, the founder of this church. It helps you change -- to a person who wants other people's happiness first, you then be happy too.

You show up with lots of money and suddenly a prophet comes out of the woodwork and seeks you out to guide you in what you need to do with that money. You were _chosen_ to be the prophet's left-hand girl. The most important person on earth, (after the prophet of course). And all you have to do is whatever he says.

You can definitely feel it, can't you? As a local New Mexican, I came to this video after doing a Zillow search for retirement acreage and finding reasonably priced lots of beautiful natural land with mountain views AND utilities already at the lot lines. What??!! I had to find out more ... in some ways, I would love to live here in retirement ... but in other ways, I'm getting a bad vibe. Too bad. It seems ideal. Can a person live here just to isolate & enjoy the natural beauty of the place without getting all entangled in the "spiritual" stuff? Or does it permeate throughout the area touching everything in its reach? If - like I read elsewhere, the area has been cursed by the Native Americans - and I can understand why - this being the most sacred of places in their traditions - now being gobbled up and mucked up by us Anglos - the way we always do things - yuk - then i wonder if buying a half acre of "paradise" might not be the best thing to do despite how feasible it is. Because I don't relish getting caught unawares in negative spiritual energy when all I want to do is chill, be myself and watch the weather patterns and seasons change over the San Luis Valley & surrounding ring of mountains. Please advise. Anyone?

@@MomCat6000 A so-called curse wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as someone physically standing near you and beaming mean eyes and faces at you. And how powerful is that even? Not much. You probably would barely even feel it unless you looked right at the person. An elder I knew had written on his grave, "its all a reflection of your projection". So if you want to believe that it'll be terrible than good luck with that! But if you have hope for it then why not give it a chance? The happier people are much less likely to speak up than the angry people you know. It'll come down to you in the end, not some fake superstitious curse. Best to temper your expectations and be careful how much you let others convince you of ideas that you should instead be experiencing for yourself. For all you know it could be your personal paradise. So many people can easily have a terrible experience somewhere because of some little thing that was personal to them and not a reflection of everyone around them. Don't let their shortcomings put a damper on your sense of hope.

evolve or devolve? I think people who ascribe to this philosophy are messing where they shouldn't be messing. There is a veil between our world and the spirit world that one should not be playing in unless s/he is covered by the blood of the lamb.

Rhuby Star Diamond I don't want to go to heaven if someone has to be tortured to death for me to get there. And I don't want to pretend to eat Jesus's flesh and drink his blood. Sounds like demon worship to me. I'll take responsibility for my mistakes and learn from them. Is it justice if I murder someone and my friend takes the death penalty for me while I go free? How would the victim's family feel about that? Use your common sense, people.

***** You make a lot of sense if that was how that story went, but it isn't so you make "no" sense. No one took Jesus' life, He was the perfect sacrifice who came to do just what He did, reconcile us back to God. He/God/jesus made the rules and fulfilled the rules. If you think you can do better than He did, then by all means...knock yourself out. Or you can just say or sing: Jesus Paid It All For Me. I am bought, I am His. Amen

God doesn't seek revenge against Earth humans. Demonic souls changed the teachings of Jesus at the council of Nicaea. The "gods" of the old testament, like Jehovah, were malevolent human extraterrestrials who had technology and wanted to be worshiped by the primitive Earth humans. The primitive Earth humans had never seen technology. They controlled the Earth humans with fear and took the top 10% of their goods. You are being controlled with fear. You can't transfer your sins on to an innocent being and then murder that being and please God. When you call another being "lord," you are giving your power away. Each of us has a soul that is an exact copy of the Source (God), each experiencing the creation from a different perspective. The soul saves those experiences making each soul unique. Jesus doesn't want to "lord" over you, he wants to help you to be like him. Jesus's real name is Jeshua. He has appeared to me in this life. You are part of the blood sacrifice church cult. The vatican is the center of satanic worship on this planet. Jesus hanging on the cross is the abomination of desolation. God does not require that anyone be tortured to death for you to return to "heaven." God is not a psychopath. Again I will ask the question: Is it justice if I murder someone and my friend takes the death penalty for me while I go free? How would the victim's family feel about that?
