Only because of sour attitudes like you. You look for the bad in society because you're probably old and bitter and you've likely left your youth far far behind. I've never understood why people like you have to denigrate legions of extremely talented and gracious performers in order to compliment one, long dead one.

A banner year for Shelley. One of the flagship artists on Dunhill (along with P.F. Sloan, Barry McGuire, the Mamas And Papas, the Brass Ring, etc.) and working with Elvis Presley in Girl Happy (and their scene at the pool side as Presley sings Fort Lauderdale Chamber Of Commerce is priceless). And coming up for her was a co-starring role in the motion picture, Hold On with Herman's Hermits. Covering the Platters' My Prayer was a good choice by Lou Adler for her. Job well done.

I recall seeing her as a kid [I too was one] back in 1956 playing Rock Hudson's daughter in 'Never Say Goodbye'. She returned to the big screen as one of Elvis Presley's leading ladies in "Spinout" and made quite an impression.

Shelley Fabares was born on January 19, 1944 and celebrated her 80th birthday today, January 19, 2024. She was on "The Donna Reed Show" (1958-1963) and the sitcom "Coach" (1989-1997) which earned her two Primetime Emmy Awards nominations. Her recording of "Johnny Angel" reached number one (#1) on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on April of 1962. It was a certified Gold Record, selling over a million copies. This clip was so refreshing. I was born in ‘61; so glad to be able to look at entertainers of gone by eras. Music was so good back then. Today for the most part music is just so bad, and because of auto tune today’s singers sound like their voices are computer generated.

My God, those poor women back then. Look at the clothes Shelley is wearing here. Look at that hair! Married already at 21? What a waste of a life. And this whole charade of Fabares being able to sing - it was all bogus. Even she admitted that she couldn't sing a lick. It was all 'studio magic'.

Ace Rothstein: What should she be wearing? How would you do her hair back in '65, (hairstyles being what they are, always changing..) and when should she have gotten married? (according to Ace Rothstein.) She looks lovely, and you have made (no) point whatsoever (as you well know.)

I guess you like the totally classless, over ambitious, loud mouths who claim to be women today. Fifty years of the fraud of the womens movement have ruined what could be a beautiful thing, when women were helpmates to men, treasured and protected by them. You can take all the "progress" made go pound salt with it. I am a woman of the 1960s and let me tell you, it was a fantastic time before the communist Left ruined it all. It's a crying shame.

@Hippy(Bboomer) Chinese junk that falls apart on your back...ill fitting, tight, slutty and degenerate. Yep, that's fashion in 2019.

Ace the only thing you came close to getting right was her singing. The rest is hahaha.

@Hippy(Bboomer) I am disgusted by where society has gone. Girls used to be such nice things....we had good role models..Jackie Kennedy, Annette Funicello, Sandra Dee, Shelly Fabares..all real ladies who dressed with class, had manners and didn't act like the neighborhood street walkers. Watching girls go to school now is mind bending. There is no difference from the way they dress than the prostitutes downtown. It's too late now, so hang on to your memories.
