I seem to remember Mondeos and Focus doing well but I don't think they raced in the same classes. Stateside Porsche has almost always been the dominant German marque in racing. BMW has never done much since the 2002 vs Datsun battles back in the 1970s. BMWs are nice stock but their stupid strut suspension means you have to give up a lot of ride quality to make them handle well.

More like 5-6L cars pushing 400-600 HP for half the price of the german cars. A 2L 500HP engine is not far from its limited potential with tuning. A 6.2 LS3 NA is 426HP. Slap a super charger on it, 650HP easy without even touching the internals. That’s just the entry level power!

Yes, of course, there is the potential with a larger capacity engine to create more power, but the point is that if there is that possibility then why not just do that in the first place? For the vast majority of the time a 3.6L engine pushing 300BHP is redundant. I mean, an F1 car has a 1.6L Turbocharged engine that pushes over 1000BHP
