Billy is a legend! I saw him in London many years ago and I couldn't breathe for laughing. It was one of those laughs where no sound comes out, you turn purple and just cry😂😂😂😂 His way of weaving a real story into a massive patchwork quilt is legendary. I watch him on KZfaq when I can't sleep and 3 minutes in neither can my husband. The world is a much better place for Billy.

I had tears of laughter watching this again and especially liked it to have you lovely ladies enjoy it as much as you did. Billy is about as Glaswegian as anyone can get. A brilliant man, straight up, no bullshit, tells it like it is. We could do with more 'honest' people like him around. Very sad to see his decline with Parkinson's disease. When he 'goes' there will be a global sadness felt for some time, so many people love him as I do. I'm glad you enjoyed this clip and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Big thumbs up for the Scotland shirt! I remember that time when the boys kicked the shit out of the big, bad "terrorists". Even people in England struggle with Scottish accent especially in London. It’s a great country obviously huge rivalry with England. I lost my father in a car crash there in 1970 when I was a toddler so its has big meaning to me we lived in a town called Cumbernauld Just outside glasgow. Scottish people are very friendly from my expereince, you do great videos love the one where you got emotional from Ireland clips. It must feel strange living in a land where your ancestors don’t come from so I get your emotions. Ireland will always welcome you,my parents were Scottish and Irish to but grew up In Birmingham englands second most populated city but now live in London. If you're looking for more Billy Connolly stuff to watch on your own, then I'd recommend his World Tour of Scotland, and World Tour of England, Ireland, and Wales dvds. They're a mix of him travelling around the respective countries like a sort of travel documentary, interspersed with scenes from the stand-up gigs he did while in those locations. So it'll give you a look at some more places in the UK and Ireland, as well as some comedy. In fact, World Tour of Scotland is actually the first thing of his I ever saw. He's also done World Tour series for Australia and New Zealand as well.

there was a police officer on duty out front of the airport, and a taxi driver asked if he should put the burning man out? The coppers reply was "nah, let the feker burn" - true story😅😂🤣 . It is a British thing, we had an attack in London and some guy chased the attacker with a Narwal Tusk from a wall display, when I saw the news report here in Australia I was screaming,"yes, I come from there, that's my town" Gotta love a bit of Billy genius story teller, all have a basis of truth, it is a well of hilarity worth diving into dwarf on a bus,old lady on a bus, Don't drink the water in Ibiza, colonoscopy, Australian animals.are just a few of his best.

Billy Connelly is indeed Glaswegian and spent a lot of time in neighbouring Paisley. One of his best mates stayed a few doors down from my dad and him and his pal used to babysit when when Billy amd his mate went to the pub. Much of Billy's stand up centres around life growing up in Glasgow and it is hilarious. He grew up in the tenements where most families were living on the breadline and worked in the shipyards. His comedy really gives you an insight into life in Glasgow in the 50s/60s

Aww oor Billy. What a legend. I grew up as a wee tot in the 70s listening to his LPs, every wean knew The Welly Boot Song and in turn I taught it to my nursery class kids and my own 2. He's a fantastic storyteller, as so many Scots are, but the relatability of his observational humour is spot on. His stories of growing up in Glasgow are brilliant. Honestly anything you can find will have you laughing but some must sees to check out - wildebeest, the crucifixion, potatoes of the night.

Billy has to be one of the finest observational comedians to come out of the UK. Imo he is so funny. He is popular in the States as well. That is some feat.

Saw Sir Billy in Victoria, London. Actually fell out of my seat from laughing so hard. His version of 'Tell Laura I love her' has to be one of the most gut-clenching, breath-taking, funniest things I've ever heard. My brother has a collection of albums from the 1970s, including the one that contains The Cruxifiction. I've heard that many, many times and it still cracks me up. You both should try it out. Billy may have been excommunicated because of it 😮😂 😊 Best wishes

Natasha and Debbie, so glad you've done a reaction video on Billy's stand-up. There are many great stand-up comedians in the UK and then there is the King of them all, Sir Billy Connolly. Yes Billy is from Anderston in Glasgow, but he hasn't lived in Glasgow for most of his life, he has never lost his Glaswegian accent and their humorous take on life. After leaving school, he was trained as a welder at John Brown's Shipyard, on the River Clyde, where the famous ocean-going liners, the Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth I and 2 and the Royal Yacht Britannia were built, and that is where he picked up his observational storytelling brand of comedy. He became a folksinger during The Folksong Revival of the 1960s and performed around the folkclub circuit in a duo called The Humblebums with a guy called Tam Harvey. The Humblebums played a lot of contemporary American Folk & Country-style music and they eventually expanded to a trio in the early 70s when a certain singer-songwriter called Gerry Rafferty (yes, Gerry Rafferty of "Baker Street" fame) joined them. The Humblebums lasted as a trio for about 18 months before they eventually broke up for good. Tam Harvey had had enough of the rigours of doing gigs, and Gerry wanted to do his own thing and eventually left and joined Stealers Wheel. Billy then performed his own one-man show around the comedy club circuit and concert venues. The perception that most English people have are that Billy was "discovered" by Michael Parkinson, the British TV chat show host. He was new to British television audiences, but folk music audiences had known about Billy for a good decade before Billy made his first "unforgettable" television appearance on Parkinson's TV chat show in the mid-70s, where he told a joke that would probably not have passed the BBC Censor, if they'd known about it before hand. The self-styled "champion of national morals and virtue", Mary Whitehouse would certainly have had a coronary from the shock! There is footage of it somewhere on KZfaq, so if you're curious, you can check it out. Be warned, though, it's quite close to the knuckle and not very PC by today's standards. Billy has his critics among the holier-than-thou religious groups for his take on the Crucifixion and so on and from those straight-laced types who simply think he swears too much on-stage, but Billy is never crude with his comedy; he is far more intelligent than that and it gets taken the wrong way. His comedy is a brilliantly perceptive commentary on the human condition and he has been making audiences laugh for decades with stories from his personal life experiences that ring so true to life in general. Unfortunately, he is unable to perform now because he was diagnosed with having Parkinson's Disease some years ago. Billy's initial reaction to his diagnosis is typical of him and typical Glasgow: he said, "Is that right, Doctor? Well I wish Mr Parkinson had kept it to himself!" It's tragic to see him now, and how his speech and facial expressions are affected by this horrendous condition, but I have great memories of when he and Tam and Gerry stayed overnight at our family home after they'd done my mother's folk club. The Humblebums performed at my mother's folk club a couple of times and Billy remembers me as the wee boy that used to come in at 6am and ran toy motor cars over him. I especially remember going for a spin in the country in the car with my Dad driving, me sitting between Billy and Gerry Rafferty in the back, when a low-flying F4 Phantom fast jet screamed overhead up the glen which made Billy jump, and he stuck his head out the window and shouted an obscenity at the pilot! It was my first exposure to the "F" word and I've been using it ever since! Billy often ended his stand-up show saying to the audience that they might find themselves swearing a bit more than usual when they go home, but telling them not to worry about it: it goes away eventually. It has hasn't quite worked out that way for me, but hey-ho, you can't have everything! I went to see him in concert at the City Hall in Perth, and did so much laughing that the next day, my sides hurt so much that I thought I'd gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson! I don't know how much time Billy has left in the world, but he has been my favourite comedian bar none. Quite simply, he is the greatest comic talent Scotland has produced in my opinion. Check out the KZfaq video of his Audience With Billy Connolly in front of a celebrity television audience. You will love it!

The first time I ever heard Billy Connolly was when one of our PTI ( physical training instructor ) who was Scottish played his tape when we where in neighbouring bathing booth! I didn’t know who it was and said who the f. Is that? The PTI said oh he’s a jock commit called Billy Connoly. I said I can’t understand a word of it lol.. later he lent mr the tape ( it was mid 70,s). He is an ex Paratrooper who served in 4th vol Para Regiment. Now I think you two girls will love his first taped as he describes his early soldier training. He was a welder in a Glasgow shipyard and it includes stories from that job as well. So would definitely recommend it
