@@mousepad9763 Please document more yourself. Dig deeper than what you see in the media. For example, analyze closely the situation of DR Congo; more than 20 years of war. Where are the UN ? What's their position about that ? Who are they exactly ? Who decide what to do and when ? Once you figured out these questions deeper thant what you already know, you will understand what I meant

@Mwana KIMBANGU Congo is only one of their peacekeeping missions in Africa there is currently four ,you need to ask yourself what happens if the US stops giving aid today where will the corrupt leaders get their money. It's also all good and well that africa has resources but its the west that has use for it and buys it. Just like China is a powerful economy and they still need the west to buy what they manufacture. So it's great to be a patriotic African but we have to use common sense we cannot live isolated from the World

Aafrican countries not able to stand on their own self . Because they have not much infrastructure , development , and High LITARCY RATE and forex reserve . Not all countries but Majority of countries not able to handle their own situation without western countries

As much as we hate to hear this, Africa doesn't need this at the moment, we still have many divisions be it religion or tribe. We still have corrupt politicians, we still have countries that think they African representatives. Each country must wash their dirty laundry first and sort out their flipping economies then we can start with one currency and see where it will get us before everything else! Proudly 🇿🇦

African becoming one country is an idea that is very idiotic, we are simply too diverse and too divided for that kind of thing to happen, never mind racism look at the tribal issues we have. I would rather prefer us as Africa becoming something similar to the European Union where we have one currency and we have no borders and work together as a collective for the greater good of Africa.

If you have one currency and no borders, you're hardly different from the USA, and could term yourself a confederation. Hence, A NATION. All you'll then need is a central authority or govt to represent and facilitate the 'collective' action you speak of, and a merging of central military authority. It's not that hard, and after a generation, it would feel very natural to be from the nation of AFRICA.

@@african-history-fountain I understand that, but Africa as a country would collapse quicker that it was developed, like I said we are to diverse people. I mean look at Nigeria or Mozambique, they are currently experiencing terrorism which is essentially a tribal war. Better for the EU system approach, and let's be honest no government in Africa would be willing to give up power to someone else, and a lot of Africans have a lot of pride when it comes to their countries. Look at Lesotho for example, some Lesotho people want Lesotho to become the 10 province of South Africa, but their government is rejecting this and most Lesotho nationals wouldn't agree for that to happen.

@@oarabiletshwagong1736 I can see what you saying and I want to believe you. However I am of the view that most of Africa's problems are as a result of nationalism. Africa has had 60 years of nationalism. And yet there's been very very little in terms of human development. Why and how has this happened? When once upon a time nationalism seemed to offer so much hope to Africa and its peoples. All that Africa had to do was to gain independence from its colonisers and everything would be fine! Yet we've been independent for 60 years and things are far from fine. I honestly hold the view that had we gone the Kwame Nkrumah way, which was to have one pan African state as early as the 1960s! We would have been in a far much better state than we are in now. Even the Tribalism that you've mentioned has, in my view been exacerbated by nationalism. I wish I had the time and the bundles to share more of my thoughts. Mr that Mr Nkrumah was onto something.

Just been to The Gambia last week, our (Mandinka) friends told us that unfortunately the new government is very corrupt. I think that is the biggest problem. For example China is spending big money to people in government and the normal people are (again) forgotten

The problem is that people try to see rich or poor by western standards,for example in the west which is Considered rich place most people don't have their own house,their own land,works under an others people,and if you lost your job not find right away an other job, you will likely end up in the streat after couple of months,you are alyways under the rules or laws,you give your loyality to machines,you are controlled by computers etc etc. In Africa atleast in vilages and country lands,people have their own houses,lands,animals,works and they are not under boses or Machines they don't go everyday to offices for an appointment. So in the place where i came from (Eritrea,Country side)who owns all those above,they live by farming they have almost 6 months intens work time from May/June to December after that they have 5/6 months rest with less work only to look after the animals and that even might be the kids job.and the most poor ones atleast have houses lands some donkey,or sheeps,goats, and maybe cow. or ox.and the farming they started in may they will collected it in december.that means what they collect that time will feed them for one year,but there are also sometimes bad seasons where it doesn't rain.and thats why the animals will help them in bad stiautions.where they can sell animals and buy grain or wheats etc. It is also the most peaceful and natural, family oriented, cultural and God fearing way to live.that's why there is less depression,almost no self suicede,less marriege divorce,less cheating,less self love etc etc... so by fair comparison we might be richer than the west and the cities in our contries forget about the minerals just for the things i mentioned above.i can't belive people think we might be rich just because of minerals or gold,and fail to see all the other richness let alone Culture. SO just because of someone live in house that looked good doesn't mean he is richer than those people.atleast my people own what they have. Therefor Africa should not try to be like the west,i am not sure if the west is going to be even great always,it is just too much problem within itself.So trying to follow their step might hurt our soceity.But that doesn't mean we shouldn't improve espcially with corruptions,healthcare,jobs. If that happens Africa might be the future not just for Africans but also for the World.But i wish the whole World peaceful future too.

The biggest issue we face in Africa as a whole (I'm South African) is government corruption. Trickle-down economics doesn't exist in Africa, our leaders have failed us. I don't necessarily in a "United States of Africa" but I do believe if our different governments would do right by their people, the situation would drastically change, the "United States of Africa" could sound more appealing .

Trickle down economics are a myth... You can't rely on leaders, the reason they failed us is because we didn't give them a job, they were never leaders in the first place, they neither have any incentive or potential punishment to push them to do their jobs... United States of Africa or not, we will not get anywhere if we keep waiting around for these mythical good leaders to show up instead of standing together and forcing change through the democratic process, vote out the bad policymakers out and if they don't want to leave then shut the whole country down, we don't even need to risk our lives, everyone literally just go days without doing anything at all, if a country can't function then they have no power, there's no single person army or army who's powerful enough to take on a million people... look at the CCP, one strong enough public backlash from the Chinese people and they're already doing away with their harsh restrictions, that's by far the world's most authoritarian and powerful government and they can't handle their own people, I've said it before and I'll say it again, our governments only have as much power as we give them and we give them far too much power...

Bro here in mzanzi we've been "independent" for like 88 years, weve had only 4 presidents in our independence looking at it like that bro we still very young on the international markets even economically america or ching didn't become great until after some years of struggle we still very young on the economic front.

According to my history class in Varsity the 3rd world country term wasn't based on economy but on neutrality. So I have no idea when it came to that

They have the resources but the problem comes with their management. We’ve tried to help countries but when the us helps it doesn’t always end well. And only uneducated people call them 3rd world country. Because 3rd world literally was a term meant for countries who stood with Russia during the Cold War. political people and educated people call them and every other country that is developing what it is a developing country.

The First World/Third world dichotomy doesn't refer to economic development, it actually refers to the tensions during the Cold War, with the terms first world and such referring to the allies of the US and/or the Soviet Union. It is an outdated term that has nothing to do with economics. As for the questions in regards to "helping" Africa, the problem with more complex. A great deal of the strife on the continent is unfortunately, self-inflicted. Corruption of governments and internal conflicts will have to be dealt with. That being said, much of the aid being sent to Africa, while with genuine good intentions, are often causing or at least exacerbating the detrimental economic problems there. When foreign aid is to be given, it should be done carefully and in the right way. Also, bear in mind that often the places that are the most resource rich are often the most economically poor, and vice versa. Such places often rely too much on these resources. Tourism also doesn't create enough high-level jobs to improve quality of life in developing nations. It is far more viable in countries that are already developed.

@@TheDemouchetsREACT I think other countries do wish to help less developed nations, in that regard I do think the aid sent is good and is commendable, regardless of the long term effects. As for the second question, there's really no simple single answer. Most African economies rely on exported goods, which is problematic. Honestly, there are TONS of issues that contribute to the poverty on the continent but the good news is that in recent years, the diversification of industries in Africa {rather than relying on exports and raw resources} has been the lead reason for the economic upswing in Africa.

@@TheDemouchetsREACT The sanctions were mainly placed to combat internal conflict, they had good intentions but bad results. The sanctions made the economic situation somewhat worse but the sanctions themselves are not the cause for relative poverty of these regions.

Bro you keep defending exploitation and calling it good intentions, ain't no good intentions in Aid, western nations know nobody can develop with aid it just keeps you in a loop of needing more aid you think they don't know that, did you know the billions of dollars given in Aid actually end up catering for administrative costs of those aid organizations and payment of salaries to staff who mostly are white people? nobody has "good intentions" everyone is looking out for their interests and don't care about Africans, the world bank money disbursed for Covid support over 80% went to developed nations which are less vulnerable and only 20% went to developing nations which needed it more, did you see the vaccine issue, western nations hoarded vaccines and even gave their populations booster shots while African countries had to beg and didn't get the vaccines,African countries don't get financial support to develop and when they do get loans they get them at way higher rates compared to developed countries and are called "high risk", the current world system was set up after world war 2 and decolonization of Africa and the developing world and was set up to favour developed nations (former colonizers and imperial nations) because they knew the colonization and slavery model had run its course and they needed a new world order that would keep them on top but diplomatically, the current global system is meant and tweaked to work for and favour the few developed nations aka former colonizers and imperialists and not everyone that's why over two thirds of the world is classified as developing countries and the minority mostly former colonizers and imperialists still maintain developed status and it's almost impossible to make the shift from developing to developed and the fee that try like China are fought heavily by the ones on top and called a "global threat", NATO can invade sovereign states like Iraq and Libya but the UN and ICC will watch in silence, ever wonder why it's always third world leaders being prosecuted at the ICC for crimes against humanity but you'll never see anyone from "developed nations"

We indians loves aafrican peoples . If see reality then We have more similarities than western countries . By the way India's GDP in 2023 is $3.6 Which is on 5 overtakes england in 2022 . Now england GDP is $3.3 trillions . Aafrican GDP is $3.14 trillions . Africa will overtake England coming soon . But overtake to India is not happens till in this century . Near or after 2100 it's definitely overtake India and China . India will overtake Japan in 2026-27 it's IMF and world bank prediction . So india going to overtake USA in 2033 in GDP ppp and 2050 overtakes in nominal GDP .

Within the next 2 decades Africa will be a major player in the world economy both as producers and consumers. Not only do they have youth on their side but they are also waking up and realizing how the west has exploited their leaders.

Will never work. Like my small country and I don't want to be taken over by the more prominent and more populated countries. We already have more than 10 different enthic groups and languages and enough citizens only interested in enriching themselves. Do not judge a country how the rich live, see how they treat the poorest. Thats how you will see if a country moves forward or not.

Afrika becoming a country is still a distant dream, unfortunately. Just to overcome how neighbouring countries view one another has been a problem even though we have shared histories and sometimes cultures. But l have had the pleasure of experiencing Pan-Afrikan spaces in our cities and its always a beautiful experience. Ultimately, Afrika the country would have been the richest county in the world... if we controlled corruption by the leadership (heck DRC on its own would easily be the richest country if steered correctly... based off resources alone). When you factor in the growing youth population (and consequently potential middle class)... you cant beat that. But l am still optimistic, we'll make it work even in our continental state.

There’s a lot of politics and history which you need to know about Africa. All the resources of Africa are controlled by USA 🇺🇸 and European governments. The $US and the £UK was deliberately pegged and made the strongest currencies in the world. They will make sure they keep Africa poor so that they keep on exploiting the continent. They sponsor all the wars on the continent especially in Congo which is the richest country in Africa with lots of minerals. We need to stop exporting our raw resources. We need to process them here and export them a s a finish product. It need to be regulated as such. Ghan has started with Cocoa. Companies like Nestle and others will have to come and build their industries in Africa and process those products here. Zimbabwe has started with Lithium, South Africa should follow suit with Platinum, Gold etc.
