If you watch a game at the end both teams congratulate each player of the opposite team & some will chat to one another too. We take Footy seriously but after the game you can have a laugh & take the piss out of the supporters of the losing team without starting a brawl 98% of the time.

@TheNatashaDebbieShow this comment has nothing at all to do with this video, but Natasha, I have been sat here for a few months now racking my brain over who you remind me of, and I got the answer to that a couple of nights ago when a suggestion for a song came up on the right side of my screen. I hope that you and Debbie could take 4 minutes out of your busy days one day to check out the video and see if either or both of you concur with me or not, the song is titled Thorn In My Side by a British band called The Eurythmics, they were big in the 80's in the UK and this particular song is my favourite of all the ones they did, I would love to know if you you and/or Debbie think the same as me. Oh, and I'm sorry Debbie, I haven't seen a famous lookie likie for you yet lol

The last one where the spectator didn’t touch the ball but kicked it back was during Covid. Our chief public health officer in Adelaide advised people in the crowd not to touch the ball in case it had Covid on it. She never lived that down.

Something you might like (for a video, or just in general), is there's a bakery in the US called AussiePiesAndSausages who will ship genuine Aussie meat pies, sausage rolls, lamingtons, and other foods nationwide. They ship it frozen direct to your door anywhere in the US, so it's a great way to try some real Aussie food in the US that isn't just the usual biscuits and lollies.

As a kid I can remember my father playing . He was running threw the middle and an opposition player lunged at him tearing off his shorts and underwear . He kept running , took a bounce and kicked it long to the forwards naked from the waste down .The funniest thing was my Mums reaction , she turned as red as a tomato. 🤣😂🤣

You folks 100% have to jump on the Collingwood Magpies bandwagon as we have an American player (they call him an American Pie! ... as in Magpie!) - check out Mason Cox's story of how he came over here from the US to play a game he knew nothing about! It's an interesting one. He's an absolute giant and a bit of a unique character who has now actually become an Australian citizen. But quite a few US folks have jumped on board the Magpies train since learning about Coxy! And as a bonus, you get to cheer on the best team of all time! We just won the Grand Final this year after not winning one since 2010. The Collingwood Magpies (or just Collingwood or simply "the Pies") are a Melbourne team with a long and legendary history, a "ya either love 'em or hate 'em" club and one of which I grew up a die-hard fan of thanks to my dad having played a few games for them back in the 60s.

If you ladies want to watch a seriously epic game of AFL, last week's clash between the two top teams Port Adelaide and Collingwood was as good as it gets, including players falling over the fence into the crowd. The lead changed something like 11 times and the game was decided by one kick. This will likely be a preview of this year's Grand Final. One of the best games I've ever seen, even though my team lost. Go the Power.

The one at 11:43 needs a bit of AFL background. After the siren if you have a free kick or mark, you can still have a shot at goal. He tried to have a shot even though he was around 90 metres (100 yards) away from goal. Some of the biggest kicks can kick it around 75 metres (83 yards) but not with any real accuracy. They sometimes end up kicking in the NFL because that distance also involves a lot of hamgtime, and being difficult to catch.

Based on your emu gag, you should react to Austen Tayshus (if you haven't already), an American born comedian who performs a play on word act with Australiana. Go for the Richmond Tigers. Best jumper, best club song, classic suburb of Melbourne, right next door to the G. My family has been for Richmond for many decades, my grandmother born there, my relative was the youngest to ever play for Richmond in the early 1900s.

So you should choose our team because the true Australian spirit is to support the underdog. I will send you jerseys. Hi Natasha and Debbie, love your work, especially when you react to AFL videos. I barrack for the mighty Hawks (Hawthorn). They have not had the best year, but they are the most successful club of the last 50 years. A couple of things that you weren't sure of. The guy kicking the ball after the siren: If you have a free kick or have taken a mark and the siren sounds to end the quarter or game, you can still take your kick and games have been won from goals kicked after the siren. The funny thing about this example was that he was so far out from goal, that it would be impossible to score, but he still wanted to give it a try with what is known as a torpedo (where the ball spins on its axis a bit like in American football). Unsurprisingly, it fell well short. The guy punching the other guy when they were both lying on the ground relates to the holding the ball rule. If you are tackled, you need to release the ball immediately or you will be penalised for holding the ball. If you have not had an opportunity to dispose of the ball (kick or handball) prior to the tackle and you are tackled in a way that makes it impossible to get rid of the ball, you will not be penalised as long as you make a genuine effort to dispose of the ball. Players often make fairly pathetic efforts to convince the umpire they are trying to handball it while being tackled, when in fact they don't want the ball to come out and get possessed by the opposition. In this case, the player made repeated "attempts" to handball the ball, but actually was punching the tackler in the back.

Thank you ladies. My team is Collingwood, it was Carlton but when I lost my Dad so early I took over his teams. Collingwood are the Magpies or just the Pies and we have the only American player. I used to call him American Pie but he is a Citizen now. He signed up before he ever saw a game and he was terrible. He didn’t play first grade for four years and he was still terrible. The fans and the press wanted him sent home but I loved at every fail he just tried harder. There is a video about Mason Cox you should watch. Every time he plays now he wears prescription swimming goggles and it makes me laugh. I guess he can’t wear contacts and I know how he feels because I can’t either. No man on any football field is going to walk up to someone that tall and say anything about his goggles to his face. Mason is very sweet and we knew when he finally got it right because the crowd chanted USA whenever he got the ball. There is another AFL video you should watch with some great marks. It is called Up There Cazaly and written about Roy Cazaly before my time. Each team has it’s own song but this song belongs to every team and it is now played at every Grand Final. It is a really great song and Roy wasn’t tall but he could fly high.

He did not live it down. That kick now plays in an official AFL featurette, framed as an example of someone messing up.

You missed something I've never heard of happening at 8:00ish min mark when, Brisbane forward 🏃‍♂️ to goal kicks out on the full, Geelong defender takes free kick awarded by umpire attempts kicking ball back into play towards his goal end out of danger but he's also kicked it out on the full resulting in the opposition Brisbane player taking free kick reversing again direction of play towards his goal, he to attempts kicking it back into play to his forwards for a chance of scoring, but he kicks out on the full resulting in Geelong player gets another free kick back into play clearing from his defence finally. 3 players in possession all kick it out of bounds over the line out of play resulting in a penalty kick awarded by the umpire to the opposition team for exactly identical stuff up.

My team is The Hawthorn Hawks I live in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and Hawthorn is most Eastern team from the Melbourne teams and my Grandfather grew up in Hawthorn and that was his local team even though his Dad played for Footscray Western Bulldogs

The kick with the funny sound would have been called a 40m kick. 20m up and 20m down.

I think you guys should take a look at my team, the Melbourne Demons. Both woman and men’s teams have recent success. All the best and good routing.

Sorry to lower the mood, the only good thing about the 20 & 21 season is that we still had footy on tv, when we were in strict lockdown here in victoria. It still gives me the heebees when i think about our strict jail like rules!!!
