American Crit II: Tough Days of Tulsa

In this feature-length sequel to last year's American Crit, the men of Butcherbox Cycling are back for another whiplash season of USA CRITS racing.
From the drama of the legendary Athens Twilight criterium, to an in-depth look at the famed Tulsa Tough series, AC II puts the sheer ferocity of American criterium racing and the unassailable tenacity of the human spirit on full display.
Note: Apologies for the minor playback glitches around the 2:30 mark. We're attempting to work with KZfaq to resolve this since the glitches are on their end. UPDATE: Trying to talk to KZfaq is like talking to a wall except a wall replies more often.

I'm a leader of the Ohio State Cycling Club Team. We don't have a coach. We get next to no resources from the school. And we compete in collegiate cycling against, bigger, better funded, more coordinated racing teams. Training through Ohio winters and an engineering curriculum is brutal. Watching this gives me hope that my team can perform in the first race in twelve days time anyways. Cheers

William's brothers are good because they act and decide what to do at the race... there so seasoned and skilled they can literally go in with a plan but at the end of day William's said in an interview if you cant act fast in a single moment than your not gonna win bike races... Being witty is what I took from him... cycling is having strategy and fitness not saying it doesnt but improvising from seeing something that is in front of you and making yourself make a good decision on the spot... He said he NEVER goes in thinking I'm going to win... I'm like this guy is crazy

Attack Pictures we are in “lock down” due to COVID19 so I have been searching cycling documentaries on KZfaq. Your doco was then a suggestion by KZfaq the following day. To be honest most of the documentaries could not hold my short attention span but for some reason I connected with yours. Was also nice watching a team in the US instead of a European team. Awesomely directed,filmed and edited.....more please.

That 'fight' shout got me in tears. Just so full of passion, and you can tell how well oiled the machine that is this team is by how seriously they take everything down to detail. I am kind of on the back nine of life, I missed them years but man did this video bring back awesome memories of racing up here in Canada!!! Only in Vancouver and big cities like that did the crowds even remotely come close to Tulsa! But at age of 50 I would absolutely love to get involved somehow down in the States !!! This was terrific. I'm two decades older than these guys, and I was just a weekend warrior until COVID. Now, I'm putting in the miles on my yard sale trainer with my Zoom buddies. But when it really hurts, and all I want to do is make the pain stop, I'm going to think back to these words: "Only the mediocre are at their best all the time". I get it--my best isn't like these guys'...not even close. But I owe it to myself to make that extra effort, go that last step. Even if only I know how hard it was.

Whatever level you're trained at, let the adrenaline of the race, and the group dynamics bring you to a higher level. Yes, be careful and stay safe, race SMART, not stupid, but you will probably amaze yourself in finding more horsepower than you knew you had. Stay as close to the front as you can! And HAVE FUN! Hey, even if you finish dead last, you still won a finish!
