American Dipper swimming in the stream just below Marblemount Fish Hatchery Skagit Valley, Cascade River, just before Skagit river union. Very entertaining birds. Notice it eating small larva as it surfaces. Recorded Sony DCR-DVD810. Taken Jan. 24, 2010

Usually you see this bird disappearing into the dark rushing water, but this time the very clear waters reveal his underwater activity. Great!! I am fond of this little brave lad...

Delightful to see the diving from above with such clear water! I've been with a pair of American Dippers the last 3 weeks and have some underwater footage of them hunting salmon fry. It's been very fun and educational to follow them as they hunt and raise their chicks! Have a peek at my channel! Cheers, Damon

@HJTforever There hasn't been too many choices in camcorders that go up to 25x in HD. Just recently JVC and Canon both have introduced camcorders with higher zooms than 10x in consumer entry level. KZfaq really stomps on the compression. The original on a 19" dia. screen shows the grub in the Dippers mouth, yup, I see the grub in its mouth in the original file, it doesn't swallow it until it comes to the surface.
