I see your guys's channel is into real estate. Yeah this American Flyer engine I've had for a while she runs really good she puffs a lot of smoke she's better than the Tyco engine sometimes

How did you get the boiler off?
@GarrettTaylorLeedy
@GarrettTaylorLeedy 9 ай бұрын
There were 3 screws holding it together underneath the boiler. And the sprass smokestack on screws apart. So there are quite a bit of screws on that locomotive I do know of.

Can it work on vape fluid so you can have a candy cane aroma at Christmas?

Well if it's like an oil base it should work just fine on the steam engine it should be like smoke fluid

very cool. I am a Lionel O scale guy, but have a small interest in Lionel/Gilbert postwar HO. Very nice video.

Hi, I just picked one of these up. Any idea how to lubricate the driver axles? I can get some oil in the one with the gear but the two others it looks like you would have to pull a wheel off (and maybe destroy it in the process) to get any kind of decent access. Thanks.

The only thing if I were you. I would get LaBelle oil and get LaBelle grease for the gears and if you can would be a LaBelle number 8 oil. And put the grease around the main gear cuz that will Lube up the axial rod and everything up.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I bought the locomotive un-tested on ebay for a good price. It looks good and the motor moves freely by hand but I wanted lubricate anything that can be lubricated before I test it.

@@robertmuck8759 if you ever post a video on KZfaq I'd like to see it running it would be nice

Well, it runs good with the wheels off the ground but on the track the motor is too weak I'll see if I can fit replacement magnets in the motor. Video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a76fpM2fzM-yhok.html

thank you. I have a pre-war locomotive but it's a project for Sunday and then I got to switch engines one's a pre-war when is a later locomotive. who won the post-war. I do know the fact of some of these loader locomotive when I rebuild them. I bought this one used online so it's. It's going to be a time where I work on this one but it works really good since I cleaned up the motor and stuff like that runs really good and she pulled out 23 Carter on flat track the going up the hill it's a hard job for the locomotive. thank you keep your eyes posted for other videos

You have a prewar flyer switcher? I'm pretty sure the switchers were only O scale, might be wrong, and the O scale switchers are very hard to get, because they were made out of bad metal which makes them very rarely in any usable state unless a complete rebuild is done.

I know for a fact I do have the switch engine version. There were some O scale engines made by American Flyer but they weren't switchers they were to switch engines I've seen in photographs but they didn't have smoked in it. I know the S gauge American Flyer locomotives have the smoke units the older ones did now one of the new engines were built in the late forties there were no smoking it's in them yet that was later till 19th ink 49. I know a lot of the older ones was smoking it started coming in till nineteen-forties. I think I'm correct on that for sure but I am going to be doing a video someday in the future of the American Flyer switch engine

Great video,Im from the Netherlands,collecting Usa Models.Got the same locomotive as in your short movie,but no smoke after filling it! How much do i put in the pipe to let it smoke,or could there anay damage inside what is need to let it smoke? It runs,i hear the piston making sound,but i have to smoke a sigaret to see some smoke,lol...can you give me a hint what is possible wrong with the enine ore smoke stack?And also..i put smoke oil in what was from a locomotive from bachmann.Do i use another brand oil (hopefully i can get that here)...thank you!

Jack Abercrombie I put four to five drops in it not much just enough to keep the wick a little bit soaked and not enough to not the kill it the smoke you then. I got a few switch engines which are the same way also

Jack Abercrombie oh one more thing if you got an air bubble inside that funnel make sure the blow into it so it gives a clear air flow for the smoke to come out I did that to several my engines I got a DCC cab-forward made by Broadway limited and I have to do the same thing to that engine so it doesn't have an air bubble in it and boy does that put a lot of smoke out to

Where do i put that wick in..just in the smoke pipe it self?
@GarrettTaylorLeedy
@GarrettTaylorLeedy 6 жыл бұрын
Jack Abercrombie well inside the front of the locomotive is a plastic thing right there it's in that compartment under the locomotive. It's hard to explain because I did it to an S gauge American Flyer and replaced one I might have to do a video showing what it looks like around the smoking it because I might have one around as parts to show it.
