I'm 34 now and I started getting self conscious about having fun in public when I turned 30. Screw it. Have fun. Life is often boring, painful, confusing. Let it out when you have the chance. If the worst that happens is some people call you an elder emo boomer, that's pretty funny.

@@AceAndThings I'm 20 in college and learned that to some extent. I put experiences and opportunities for those over being self conscious. I still feel self conscious, but when I have fun, it doesn't matter. I've climbed out of my apartment window with a makeshift rope, worn a real pumpkin top on my head for a halloween party, it's so gratifying to have those experiences with me for life.

As much as I love this band, I have trouble listening to them. It brings me back to back times when I was 19 and my biggest worry was if the girl in my class had a crush on me. I have bigger worries these days, and it's tough to re-visit those carefree times knowing I will never have them again.
@GussyXD5 жыл бұрын
i have the same kind of trouble listening to them nowadays too, their first album is up there with my all time favourites, however when i listen to it - it really makes me revisit those feelings and gets me in a very depressive state like i was when i was younger (15-17) in high school and it really puts a barrier between me and enjoying the music. still awesome that they're back together and making new music though.
@thegreyocelot5 жыл бұрын
Yeah man, it’s truly bittersweet for me too. Happy because i had those simple and beautiful times, and said because they’re gone. This brings me back, if only for an hour or so ;)
@josejalaeno735 жыл бұрын
That’s kind of what their song “Honestly?” is about- someone looking back on their problems when they were young, at the time they seemed like the biggest problems in the world but they’re older now and have new problems, and they sort of miss those “simple” ones they had. At least that’s what I get from it.
