I’ve collected all these outfits except Ed al-Fitr. I personally love the Dia de Los Muertos dress and the Diwali dress. AG has sold the menorah and the dreidel set separately for years even when there wasn’t an outfit to go with it. I think that’s why AG didn’t bundle them because they’ve always just sold the Hanukkah accessories by themselves.

Thank you for the context! If this is the case, they should definitely lower the price on the Hanukkah celebration outfit to compensate. Perhaps even just down to $34 would have felt more reasonable somehow.

Beautiful outfits, always a joy to see your videos! I love the Indian & Mexican ones especially! The red Asian outfit was cute too, but didn’t beat the traditional outfit Ivy wore.

Awww Evelyn I just want to send you a virtual hug! The burnout is real and valid. ❤ These outfits are gorgeous! I really like the Hanukah outfit but I can't believe the other outfits come with the accessories and this one doesn't really. What a disappointment. You definitely make me consider getting a few of these outfits! And thank you for sharing about the details about the cultures! It was great to know a bit more about some of these that I didn't know much about.

aww, I totally get the "burn out" feeling! So glad this channel is helping you get through that. I loved seeing these outfits up close and modelled on your dolls, and learning a bit more about each of these cultural celebrations! I do have the Lunar New Year dress and just the blue overdress of the Eid Al-Fitr outfit. I'd love to get the Diwali outfit for my Kavi! I found Ivy's dress at a thrift store, it's sadly snagged, but I use it anyway as it's the only one she has. Happy New Year!

My favorites are the Day of the Dead and the Diwali, but I would be afraid of dye transfer with both them. The embroidery on both is so lovely. Thanks for sharing all of the backgrounds and details. I have three of the outfits and love them all. The quality is excellent. The standout of my three is the Day of the Dead outfit. Honestly, it might be the most surprisingly gorgeous outfit I’ve ever gotten from AG. It’s just stunning. Loved this video, and your explanations of all the traditions. Thank you. I love every single one of these outfits! I do get what you mean for the Hannukah outfit, it should have at least come with the menorah. I am hoping to get at least a few of these before they retire because I can see them going up in price and I do eventually want the whole collection. I think it's a really great line for diversity!

I’m sorry you have felt burnt out in your personal life, and I just want to say that my DMs are always open if you need someone to talk to! I’ve also had a rough couple of months here at the end of the year with being sick and other personal trials, so I understand. ❤ This is such an important video to make, and I will 100% take into consideration the idea of putting my money where my mouth is! I have been thinking about getting the Kwanzaa outfit for Evette and the Hanukkah outfit for Nicki/Isabel (it looks SO GOOD with Nicki’s blue eyes), so I think you have sold me! I mayyy have already spent my Christmas money during the end of the year AG sale, but I have a birthday in March, so maybe then! You always have lots of love and support from this subscriber (and virtual friend)! 😊

I have the Diwali outfit and I love it! It's such a beautiful, quality outfit. My only qualm is that the necklace tends to sit a little below the neckline of the top and hide some of the charm detail. I think the reason the Hannukah dress and accessories are seperate is because the set is older? I believe American girl also originally intended to have the freedom of updating the dress since they have often released new blue or silver dresses at the same time as their christmas outfits. (And there was originally a christmas dress included in this line which has since been retired due to their annual christmas dress releases). I hope you feel better soon and get to take some time to relax and reset ❤

Ahh yes, the necklace does sit below the neckline. I kept having to pull the shirt down a bit so it would show. Good call out! Another commenter mentioned that the Hanukkah accessories are older, which is valid, but I feel that they could have at least made the dress cheaper instead of $38 like the rest of the celebration outfits, or perhaps include a small accessory not included in the main Hanukkah accessory set (a latke or food item perhaps?). I’m hoping to clean my entire house this weekend and will hopefully relax after that 😅

I also don't think it would be crazy for AG to include another dreidel, seeing as they can often go missing 😆 I also had the thought that perhaps AG should've made an outfit for a different Jewish holiday, since Hannukah is technically a minor holiday, and holidays like Rosh Hashanah and Passover are much more significant to Jewish peoples. Then they could still make a new Hannukah dress every year alongside their Christmas dress.

I really enjoyed your review of these outfits! I own all but the Dia de los Muertos outfit, but I am planning to get that at some point. They're really wonderful, well-thought-out pieces. I agree, though, that the Chanukah outfit is lacking compared to the rest. In my eye, AG shouldn't have done Chanukah as part of this collection; they do Chanukah outfits periodically already, which is why the Chanukiyah and dreidel are a separate set. I wish AG had picked one of our other holidays to spotlight in the cultural collection, especially since Chanukah is such a minor holiday for us. Pesach (Passover) or Rosh Hashanah would have been my preference, especially since those could have accessories included more like the other cultural outfits. I am super impressed by all the things in the Kwanzaa set, for example- just wish they had included some corn!

Thanks Elise! That is a fantastic point, there are so many Jewish holidays to choose from that would have brought something new to the table. They could have at least made the outfit worth the $38 price tag by adding some accessories not included in the $20 set.

💯 I never got a dress for Chanukah as it was casual. However we definitely dressed up for temple for Rosh Hashanah the holiest time of the year.

I have long been obsessed with the Diwali outfit, it’s so beautiful, but I’ve also heard that their fix didn’t really fix it and it still causes dye transfer. But I want it so much! I would also love to get the dia de muertos outfit. I just put my 64 in the lunar new year dress and she is cute as a dang button. It’s a little early but this gives me time to shuffle the outfit around to some of my other dolls who would be celebrating lunar new year. Hate that you’re feeling burned out. I can relate. I hope you get the time to rest and recharge.

I have the Diwali outfit(since soon after it came out) and after about a week of having it on a doll I read some reviews that it stains. When I took it off of my Nanea doll there were dark marks on her armpit area that don’t come off to this day. It is such a beautiful outfit so it was very disappointing and I haven’t used it much since. I would recommend only keeping it on a doll for 2-3 days at a time and checking for any marks that might appear especially around the arms

Agreed, and I don’t think it would be very easy to redo/correct that nice thick fabric to not stain. So I wouldn’t be sold on them saying they corrected the staining problem on the outfit. Sadly I just try to keep Nanea out of tank tops or swimsuits now 🥲

Please do NOT put the Diwali outfit on your doll! It will absolutely ruin it. AG has a recall out. I just mailed back my horribly stained doll back to AG for a replacement.

Do you know if your outfit was from the first run? The first run of these outfits did stain but supposedly they have fixed it since. There is no recall on it that I could find at this time, and they are still actively selling the outfit.
