If you're new here, WELCOME! Thanks for your patience with the blurry intro....it's really quick!
Today I take a little detour from my usual reselling content on this channel to bring you a fun, holiday unboxing of some of the limited edition Nutcracker pieces from American Girl's 2020 collection. Throughout the video I will share some stories with you from my experience as an American Girl Employee. I'll also offer some fun outfit alternatives to the pieces that are no longer available from last year's Nutcracker series.
I worked at American Girl when the Boston Store opened in October of 2008 through January of 2019, just months before they closed the store. I love the experience I had as an employee at American Girl for almost 8 years!
I am an avid American Girl fan and collector and I enjoy finding preowned American Girl pieces when I'm out thrifting to sell online. I have over 100 dolls and over the next few years I plan to thin out my collection and use my reselling platforms to sell some of my items.

I am seeing this much later but as another adult collector who started in 1996, i have an EXTENSIVE collection. I thoroughly enjoy your AG videos and only wish for more. It is so refreshing to have an intelligent adult and knowledgeable presenter with your style. So enjoyable. If you are ever tempted to show yours and your daughter's collections, it would be so exciting. I cannot say too much how much I savoured your videos.

My American girl story-I have 3 daughters. On 9/11/2001 at 9 am I called American Girl and order matching PJs for them for Christmas. We were traveling to spend the holiday in NJ with my sister & it was a big deal! I hung up after talking to a lovely lady at AG and then heard on the radio that a plane had hit the World Trade Center-life changed in a moment-from the joy of dolls and matching pjs to tragedy. That moment is etched on my soul forever. American Girl truly represents innocence & joy & hope. Loved this video & your joy!

hey girl, ok funny story.. i watched your first AG video almost 2 yrs ago. I am a reseller (6.5 yrs) as well, and at that time I didn't have any interested in AG other than the fact that my daughter still has her one and only AG doll that she got when she was 11 (she is now 34). Anyway, fast forward 2 yrs, I now have a granddaughter who will inherite her moms. So recently someone in our neighborhood was selling AG dolls, clothes, shoes, the works, and Our Gen buildings (diner, school, vet, and ice cream truck with every single little accessory) for so cheap. I started looking them up and ended up buying so much from her ( i went to her house 4 times to buy lol) because she had such amazing prices. Her daughters have out grown them and didn't want them. I spent about $400 but I got thousands of dollars in doll stuff. Its all for my granddaughter and has taken over our family room. haha. I got so excited I started binge watching youtube videos. Needless to say, I totally understand your collecting. I set it all up and surprised her. She is only 4 and loved the school, vet and cafe that i bought but still needs more time to get into the dolls. So now im an big time fan of AG dolls etc. I just wanted to say... I get it now lol. Omg so I didn't purchase her when she came out and I was regretting it and somebody locally listed the white nutcracker outfit and I went over to her house and she said I have a doll are you interested and I said yes and it was her in the purple outfit and she had the whole collection doll and all the outfits that came out that year and I got it all for $285 dollars and it was all MIB I was so happy that day 😁

OMG THE MOUSE KING CROWN IS ADORABLE 👑🥰 I do prefer the little boxes with tissue that the outfits used to come in -That new packaging looks very Toys R Us. This was fun!

I am late to this video. It appeared in the rotation. I purchased the "Mouse King" set on sale for $65 or $75 after Christmas. The "Sugar Plum Fairy" doll is #86. AG just added #89, #90 and #91 last week. I am on the fence about #90 because I already have a few customs with similar color wigs. Thanks for sharing. Will you show your dolls in a collection video?

Absolutely love this! On another note: when you said the words “the Boston store” it reminded me of my childhood in Erie, Pa., of all things. We had only 2 department stores, one of which was The Boston Store, a super popular destination. Wondering if that retailer actually began in Boston.

Thank you for watching! Funny enough the only "The Boston Store" that I have been to I believe was in Wisconsin. My brother lived outside of Milwaukee and they had that department store there. I've never seen or heard of one being here in MA...how funny!

Your stories about working at American girl brings me such joy. I was born in 2000 and was raised having an older sister who’s first doll was Samantha. I have always loved the Historical line and just received my pleasant company Josefina doll that I always dreamed to have as a child. So excited about her!! I also had, Kanani (girl of the year) and 2 truly me dolls. So I am completely stoked to have my first ever Historical Girl after almost 10-15 years. Love your videos and I hope you do more American girl Story times and videos soon ❤️

Hi Lori! I also have a slight obsession with American Girl dolls. I was born and raised in Ukraine and could only dream of having dolls like that as a child. When I started having children, my first 2 daughters were not into dolls at all but my youngest one is. So you better believe it that I went totally crazy with the dolls. I even made a 2 story house out of Ikea bookshelves by laying them horizontally and stacking them one on top of the other which made 6 rooms. And since I also love to thrift, I have found some amazing things to decorate each room with. Great video! :)

There is still a store in Palo Alto, CA and its huge lol they have like the baby American girl section for like newborn dolls. I was into Polly Pocket personally. I have 2 porcelain dolls though that are vintage♡

Great video! This doll is a variation of Truly Me #86 that American Girl just released this year. You’re correct about the Josefina mold. The main difference between Truly Me #86 and the Sugar Plum Fairy is the glitter eyeshadow and pink lipgloss on the doll’s face. I’m a 23 year old adult collector and am receiving this doll from my parents for Christmas. Gosh I am excited to open her!!
