All of the contestants knew Carrie was holding back her power. That is why they were smiling. Carrie wanted the top 5 to shine while doing her song.

You can tell Carrie is holding back her full power in this performance. If Carrie used her full power, you won't be able to hear those 5 contestants.

This the first time in a long time, Carrie showed her quick burst of her power. She did it a couple of times with both Maddie and Gabby like they were trying to show they can do that. Carrie wasn't trying to embarrass either of them. Carrie just does it so natural, both of them like wow, like a fast reality check.

You could see how hard it was for Carrie to be critical with the contestants and also the contestants were in awe of Carrie and she never did it before. And even with sing with Carrie, you could tell they had that deer in headlights look.

Katie Perry is absolutely fearless when she invited Gabby to tour with her, they, together could sing “SHAMELESS” together on stage, a perfect song, for only them to sing to their spouses. What role models for young people, beauty, brains, talent, work ethic, I am a 79 yr old man with an eye for the best of best & so proud to call them ladies in the 1st degree. (OG)

When you say American Idol, and it doesn't matter which network it airs on. Carrie is the person you think of right away, not Kelly Clarkson. And I wasn't surprised that Kelly went onto "The Voice". I don't think Carrie is going to appear on Idol in 2019, not with her doing "Cry Pretty" tour

This time around, the contestants this year, used Carrie's advice. This group didn't use Carrie's advice. Simple problem, the five were in awe of Carrie. And it was the first time, Carrie was a mentor.

Even Gabby said bluntly, she can't come close to reaching Carrie's power in vocals. And plus Gabby said Carrie came down when Carrie and Gabby together. Carrie wanted all five them in shine. That wasn't about Carrie, it was about them.

Main problem Carrie has with being a mentor. Yeah, she can give them advice. But Carrie can't give them, her raw, natural power she possess.
